Chapter 1: Migraines
The room was filled with complete darkness; the only sounds that could be heard was the light ticking of the clock, and the even breathing of the man sitting there. King Higurashi sat quietly enjoying the darkness; he enjoyed the dark. Most were afraid of it, afraid what the night could bring, but not him. He relished it. He embraced the dark and the clarity it brought. Yes, clarity is exactly what the king needed. He was at his wits end. All his troubles and all his problems could be summed up in one word; Earth.
Higurashi sighed and brought a hand to his head rubbing his temples, the small little blue planet was the cause of his constant migraines. Sitting back he tried to let the darkness cover him willing the on coming migraine to go away; however a slight beeping stopped that from happening. Looking down at his seat he noticed the small red light that was a constant bother, quickly pushing it, and the wall in front of him came to life.
The blue screen lit up the room quickly before it fizzled and changed pictures. Instead of the blue screen; King Higurashi was looking straight into a pair of hazel blue eyes. Right after, the room was filled with a soft but strong voice “My king are you feeling any better?” Higurashi looked up and smiled. His dear wife was there looking most concerned. Higurashi nodded in her direction.
“As well as I can be, but do not worry I shall join u momentarily.” Not looking as convinced as the king hoped she would, the Queen nodded and gave a small smile. “I will see you in an hour then?” It was more of a demand then an actual question.
Giving his wife another brief nod, the screen fizzled again and turned back into the once normal looking wall, giving the king his beloved darkness once again.
After a moment of sitting alone, Higurashi knew it was time to start the day. Once again as he looked down to his chair where the panel with the blinking red button was, and began to punch a series of buttons. And again the wall/ screen in front of him flickered on and began to move letting in the light.
However it was not the light that one would normally see from earth, no it was the light that reflected from the sun off the earth. And this was because King Higurashi was not an ordinary king but King of the Gifted. For about 150 years now since exile, he had been king of this little planet and its people. Standing up he let the light come and wash over him.
King Higurashi is a tall man around 5'11, with black hair and minimal facial hair. Strong facial features with strong broad shoulders helped make up the handsome king. Along with a well built body was something else something that only his people were blessed to have. Two feathery wings sat upon his back, both a dark blue color starting from his shoulder blades, turning to a very light blue at the tips. Instead of being spread out resembling an angel, they were gently folded against his back. Along with his wings, that he was graced with because of evolution, he also had the marking of his people upon his face. It was a light blue circle surrounded by another that closely resembled the sun.
Standing straight looking out in the vast space, he looked a little to his left and he caught the sight of the reason why he needed to be left in the dark. There in the corner was the little blue marble sized planet, Earth. It looked so small from where he stood, it seemed almost innocent. King Higurashi frowned because the longer he stared at the blue planet, the more his head started to hurt. He knew better. There was nothing but death, war, famine, and disease on the planet slowly but surely destroying it's self and now they were trying to bring down his world as well.
Disgusted by this sight he quickly averted his gaze and looked on towards the horizon, waiting patiently for the sun. As soon as the first rays reached their planets Skye line, he heard the slight humming of the life support systems pick up. Since the planet was created, most of the things created such as the atmosphere, gravity and all other essentials were run and made by machines.
The machines picked up speed, running faster as they used the sun's rays to help power up the rest of the planet. As soon as the sun finally rose, the humming quickens and a slight pinkish light covered the planet. The light continued to stretch on until it seemed to settle over the planet and the humming died down. Higurashi smiled, all was well. The sun provided them once again with the light they needed to keep things running for yet another day. Turning around giving one last look at the view, Higurashi walked out of the room determined to meet his wife for breakfast on time for once.

King Higurashi was making good time. He had already changed into more appropriate attire and was heading down the main corridor to the dining hall. The Corridors themselves, just like the rest of the palace was elegant in nature. Marble pillars and floors, and gold and silver were built into the wall, and just like every room, the wall that faced the outside was almost like screens. The screens were used to let the light in and out or if need be to keep out unwanted guests.
King Higurashi was just turning the corner when two small soft bodies collided into him. Looking down he noticed two of his most loyal servants bowed slightly to him.
“Maki, Corin are you two alright?” The two servant women bowed their heads and nodded.
“Yes my King nothing was damaged.” Standing up and brushing off her robes Maki gave a small smile. “Excuse us we are just in a hurry, its almost time for breakfast and the Princess is no where to be found”
Tsking under his breath Higurashi looked up at the two women. `That girl will never be on time for anything, by kamis!'
“Well please do hurry I understand how difficult it can be to get her up” shaking his head, he gave a soft sigh. “Very difficult.”
Corin laughed slightly. “No worries! She will be there as soon as we can get her up and moving.”
“Well then ladies I leave my daughter in your capable hands.” Giving a slight nod, Higurashi started heading again towards the dinning hall.
“My King.” stopping slightly Higurashi looked back and acknowledge the two women. Stepping forward Maki gave a nervous smile “
I'm sorry I forgot to inform you, Lord Jun would like to see you. He is waiting for you in your personal study.”
Higurashi nodded, “I'll see him after breakfast”
Chuckling nervously Maki looked down. “Sir he claimed that it was most important. I believe that he said it deals with the upcoming peace meeting.”
“Hmmm well, then can you please inform my wife I will be late.” Maki and Corin both nodded after giving a slight bow and continued down the hall.
Higurashi stood a little longer before, turning around and marching back down the corridor towards his study. Groaning slightly and rubbing his head, he could feel the migraine returning full force. Oh how he wanted to be back in the dark.

Some where on earth …
Lord Inutaisho sat quietly enjoying, the peace of the morning. It was the only peace he would be getting to today, and he already knew this. Glancing down at the papers in front of him he gave an irritated sigh. The paper in front him were all the reports on Daemon, and Naraku. There was a lot of movement going on and he was starting to get concerned. If Naraku started mobilizing his forces before the upcoming meeting then there would be tension among the great powers.
Taking another sip of his drink he glanced around his large study before looking at the clock. '11 a.m., and I am already into my second drink.' Inutaisho gave a sarcastic chuckle before standing up and stretching.
Walking around Inutaisho began to think back on current matters. He and the other lords were making plans to talk to the King of the Gifted. If all went well then talk of peace and the writing up of a treaty would be made as soon as possible. `However, if Daemon or his bastard son Naraku get wind they are likely to find ways to prevent that.'
Rolling his head and releasing the taut muscles in his neck, Inutaisho grimaced at his thoughts. If Naraku found out about the secret meeting with the Gifted he will try anything to persuade them to his side or worse, eliminate his enemy. This was something that they must avoid at all cost.
Soft knocking broke threw Inutaisho's thoughts, standing back at his desk he said “Enter.” The hard wood doors where thrown open and entering the room was a small, little balding man. Inutaisho looked up at his long time friend. “Yes Myoga?”
Myoga walked into the lavish study and stood in front of the red oak desk waiting for his lord, before giving him a deep bow. Keeping his smirk to him self `Always the proper one eh Myoga.'
“So Myoga what brings you here so early in the day?” Myoga gave a small chuckle. “Well my lord, there are some news that I have to report.” Inutaisho simply raised an eyebrow. “News, what news?”
“Well my lord, the youkai council are waiting for your response. Are you going to...” Clearing his throat Inutaisho interjected. “Tell the council that I would be more than happy to provide my services.” Myoga nodded. “Yes my lord.” Inutaisho leaned back and yawned. “Is that all Myoga?"
“Um, well no. Your sons, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha are here.” Inutaisho couldn't hide his surprise at the news. “Both are here now?"
“Yes, they wish to speak with you.” Myoga shifted nervously. He knew his Lord was busy and didn't really like to bother him. Inutaisho stood up and began to move towards the door. “Did they give reason?”
“A thousand apologies, I did not ask. I just merely know they would like to speak with you.” Sighing Inutaisho reached out for the door but halted his steps when he noticed Myoga still stood in the same spot. “Is there any thing else?” He was starting to get irritated the start of a headache was forming.
Feeling his lords irritation Myoga rushed on. "Well, Lord Kanto would like to speak with you as well, and your wife and daughter have left to pick up Tsunami, there are new reports involving Naraku, your sister has called 20 times, she claims its important, you have a doctors appointment at 4, and oh yes the Gardner is out sick. ” Myouga said it all in one breath.
Inutaisho sweat dropped. `This is going to be a long day.'
"Fine Myoga, I will handle every thing. Starting with my son's.” Nodding in agreement, Myoga gave a slight bow. “Well then my lord Inutashio, I must take my leave.”
Nodding at his old friend Inutaisho waited to he walked out before closing the door and walking towards the stairs. Sounds of shouting and fighting could be heard down there. `My sons why can't they act their own age?'
The loud smashing sound brought Inutaisho out of his thoughts while he continued down the stairs. `They better not break another damn thing in this house.' Grumbling, Inutaisho could feel the headache that was forming, turning out to be a full blown migraine. Another smash could be heard by lot of cursing, no doubt by his youngest son.
Rounding the corner the sight before him made the great Dog demon growl… `Yes this is going to be a long day!'
