She stood under the blood moon, Black Wolf. Her golden eyes pierced the darkness as she looked around her. Way up on the hill, where 4" of fresh snow lay, she waited. Finally she tilted her head back and howled, her howl was beautiful, eerie and lonely at the same time. She stood out against the snow with her black fur coat, the only thing that would have blended was her small white patch of fur on her chest. Within moments she takes off running searching for a way to end her loneliness, and comes upon a small group sleeping in the black forest.

Growling softly she approaches the group, noting that there are three humans. Two female, one male, and a kitsune youkai. There was one other as well but he was in a tree so she ignored him except, she noted he was half youkai and therefore no threat to her. Until he jumped down in front of her with his sword drawn, she growled and snapped at him then turned and walked away from the group. Judging by the moon she guessed sun up would be soon, and then and only then would she be able to speak with this group. For some reason they interested her, for in all of her nineteen winters she had never seen a group mixed like this one. She howled once more warning the hanyou who was waiting near his tree with sword drawn that they would meet again, for she never broke a promise.

"Inuyasha was that a wolf's howl I heard last night?" Kagome asked sleepily for she had just awoken and had yet to become fully awake. Shippo nodded his head and walked over to the small cooking fire he had started on his own, and this time he didn't use kitsune-be. "Yes Kagome I heard them too, and there were tracks of a wolf that had come into our camp last night. But it wasn't one of Kouga's, sense I think he finally got the hint last time we met up." Shippo turned and faced a shocked Sango and a frightened Kagome. Miroku who had wandered to find a hot spring had just returned to camp and missed the conversation. "So I wonder what brought the wolf then." Sango mused aloud to the group as she stirred their breakfast.

"I do not want to find out. But I am going to the spring, Sango care to join me?" Sango smiled and looked to Miroku, but Shippo spoke up first "I will watch over the pot Sango." Sango's eyes widened and she smiled, "Arigato Shippo, we will not be long." Miroku looked to Inuyasha, who was asleep at the base of the tree holding his sword, shrugging he turned back to see the last of the two girls. Shippo hummed softly as he watched the pot of food, he had grown immensely in the past few years, and finally caught up to Inuyasha. Who still looked the same, at least now his magic was stronger and Inuyasha couldn't catch his tail, to hurt him like he did a long time ago.

She was careful this time as they were awake, taking a deep breath she walked into view of the small group and only found the half youkai, youkai and a single human there. Her long ankle length black hair seemed to drape behind her like a cape, save for the two long white pieces of hair that was over her shoulders. She wore a Black outfit which she noticed was exactly like the half-breed, except hers had a pattern on it. It was faint and done in a blood red color, even she knew naught of what they were except they were there. She caste her fusia colored eyes towards the ground as if hesitating, and then looking upwards she walked towards them. Twitching her ears and trying to catch their scents as she went.

Miroku had fallen asleep again so that left Shippo, 1. alone 2.the only one awake and 3.bored. He was the only one who saw her even though he caught her scent first. To him it smelled like the moon flower. Shippo stood up and walked over to her, pausing as he though he had smelled her scent once before. "Who are you?" he asked as the memory rang clear, she was the wolf that had come last night.

She stopped walking, "I am Gaia, can..." but she was cut off as Shippo began to speak, "Did you come here to kill us? You were here last night were you not?" Shippo walked towards her summoning a ball of fire in his hand as he did so. He looked her over and for the first time noticed her ears, the same moment Inuyasha awoke and ran over. "Inuyasha wait..." Shippo cried out as Inuyasha struck the girl, to the ground

. "What do you want bitch, your not getting the shards." Inuyasha spat out as Shippo kicked at Inuyasha, which kinda pissed him off more. "Do you not see?" He snapped pointing to her ears, Inuyasha's eyes went wide as the girl sat up. "I came here to learn about your group. I am not going to kill anyone, and what shards are you talking about?" "Your hanyou?" Inuyasha asked, only he put it more like Kisama hanyou? Gaia sat up and glared at Inuyasha, "Yes half-breed I am. As for last night that was my demon form night." she spat out, Shippo blinked she sounds like Sesshoumaru but didn't Inuyasha also sound like her at one time.

Kagome and Sango were just walking back to find Inuyasha, Miroku and a stranger eating. "Inuyasha, who is this?" She asked while eyeing the girl, she is no doubt beautiful. "This is Gaia, she's a hanyou too, only she is of the legendary…" "And dead" Gaia added under her breath, "Kurowolf-youkai clan." Gaia stood up and walked over to the tree, "I am also the daughter of some stupid tai-youkai of the eastern lands. Which thanks to him I am going to inherit some day," she continued to mutter under her breath forgetting that she could be heard by only two people.

Shippo looked over at Gaia who at the moment was sleeping like everyone else, she's been with us a fortnight and still doesn't seem to trust us. I wonder what will happen tomorrow night when the sun sets, since it will be the day before the new moon. Shippo shifted his gaze to Kagome and his smile faded a bit, "Miss sleeping with her kitsune baka?" "Inuyasha you will never know the answer to your question because my answer will not get you any closer to feeling like your close to her." He replied with a smirk, before rolling over on his blanket and drifting off to sleep, listening to the soft curses of a certain hanyou.

Gaia sat up and looked around her, she looked down at her blankets trying to figure out why they were so constricting. Only to find out she was twisted in them, I must have been having that dream again. The one were I am human and I am about to die when this mysterious guy tells me not to die, that I have a reason to live. Gaia snickered at the thought of some guy telling her not to kill her self. But then, isn't that why I am with this group so that I can find an answer to this dream. I don't want to kill my self, only my demon blood is all. Gaia looked around her and then untangled her self from her blankets, I think I will go to the spring and take a bath maybe it will clear my thoughts. She headed off silently towards the springs braiding her long hair as she walked. Once at the spring she sat leaning against a rock, thank full that her thoughts seemed to disperse even if it was only for a short while. Soon sleep consumed her as well as throwing her into another dream.

She was sitting next to a lake, but she did not know where she was. In the lake she could see a city and for some reason she knew its name, Fallen (Fay-Len). She stood and began to walk into the water stopping when it reached her hips, she looked down at her reflection. A nineteen year old girl stared back at her with chocolate brown eyes and long golden red hair. She reached out to touch the image, but found she could not reach it. "What is happing?" Her image smiled and replied, "You wish for humanity instead of embracing what you are. You are the last of your kind, a hanyou different from others. Why do you hate your youkai blood?" "Because the youkai is what killed my mother and my father. Why should I embrace something that kills?" The image shook her head, "It doesn't always kill." She looked at her image and realized that she was alone and that her image was just that, an image.

"Gaia are you alright, you have been in here for many hours." Sango said in a worried voice, "I have," Gaia replied opening her eyes, and then closing them fast. Apparently she slept very well and the sun had not awakened her, "I did not mean to worry you all." She replied walking out of the water and reaching for her clean Silver Kimono. Sango nodded and smiled, "Shippo noticed you were missing when he awoke this morning. Are you feeling alright?" Gaia nodded her mind still pondering her dream, "Where is Kagome-chan?" "Home, she will be there for some time. At least until Inuyasha drags her back here" Sango giggled. She and Gaia walked in silence for some part of the way, "Gaia will you be upset if I asked you a question?"

Gaia shook her head no indicating it was alright to ask, "How can you be a hanyou and not seem like Inuyasha? I mean you look human to me?" Gaia's happy smile slipped, "It is true all hanyou's have a human night, I on the other hand seem to have a demon night. Full moon, the night I turn wolf, all Black fur, and Gold eyes. Sango I'm scared, every time I change I feel like I am loosing something, like something changes in me." Gaia stopped in front of Sango, her fuusia eyes filling with tears. "I want to be human." She said softly. Sango looked lost and unsure of what to say, but was very thank full when the men came in to view. For some reason she was sure that maybe just maybe one of them knew how to help Gaia.
