InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Blood-Red Eyes ❯ Chapter 1
Hey! Um, this is my first try at writing a story that will include a lemony chapter or two, so forgive me if it takes a while to kick this one off the ground!!
I don't own anything!! (Except 4 plushies, 4 DVD's, 3 tapes, 1 poster, a deck of cards, and endless stickers)

Kagome glared at the undead miko who held an arrow aimed at her chest. Once again, Kagome had stumbled upon Kikyou's `soul-stealing time', and disturbed the clay and bones priestess, annoying her. Once she realized Inuyasha would be soon to follow, Kikyou had immediately drawn her bow and arrow, aiming it directly at the heart of her reincarnate.
"He'll never be yours, you copy. He was mine first, and once you're dead, he'll realize that." She sneered at the girl who stood before her, trying not to tremble in fear. "But, should I let him witness your death, or simply kill you now and tell him you just left? Hm……… I'll wait. If I tell him you left, he may try to wait for you to return, or he may go after you. Either way, he'll believe you're coming back. This way, when he watches you die, he'll know where he belongs."
Smiling cruelly, Kikyou motioned to her soul-stealers, who proceeded to wrap around Kagome again, holding her in place as they had done the very first time the dead woman had tried to drag Inuyasha to hell. The young miko began to fight against them, trying to break free. She knew better than to try and persuade Kikyou. It never worked, she never listened. Or if she listened, she never cared.
And so they waited, knowing that the hanyou would be arriving shortly.

The half dog-demon sighed as he leaned back in his tree, breathing deeply of the night air. He always liked sleeping in trees, and so did so anytime the monk was unable to get them a place to stay. Inuyasha knew that Kagome liked being inside more, she had basically told him so the first night the monk found them a place to stay with his "dark ominous clouds" line.
He shook his head and breathed deeply again, only to catch an all-too-familiar scent in the air. The scent of dirt and death. Kikyou was nearby. Quickly, the inu-hanyou looked around their camp, noting the lecher with a new red mark on his face, the huntress polishing Hiraikotsu, Shippou sleeping on Kagome's `sleeping bag', and Kagome………
Kagome.
`Where's Kagome?' he thought, looking around frantically, his instincts telling him something he didn't want to imagine. He tilted his head back and sniffed the air again, noting each and every scent, dissecting them so that he might find what he was looking for.
`There!' Laced closely with Kikyou's scent was that of Kagome, only hers was permeated with something that made him growl low in his throat. Fear. Kagome was afraid. And that could only mean one thing. Kikyou was there, and Kagome had found her, and was probably now being threatened.
Quickly he leapt from his branch and landed directly in front of his two friends. They looked up at him, startled, only to surprised even more by the look on his face.
"Kikyou's nearby." Sango stiffened noticeably at this, no doubt thinking Inuyasha was about to run off to her, while Miroku merely raised an eyebrow, as though asking him what he would do. Inuyasha looked back in the direction that Kagome and Kikyou's scent came from, and whispered quietly, hoping Shippou wouldn't hear, "And she's found Kagome."
Sango didn't hesitate. She leapt up and gathered her armor in order to put it on hurriedly. Miroku stood and gave the woods a worried look, fearing for one of his friends, before going to pack up what they could and wake Shippou. Kirara was already transformed and was waiting for her mistress. And Inuyasha? Well, after making his statement, before Sango could even think to stand, he had leapt off towards the stench of clay and bones, fear pushing him to move faster.
`I don't know what's going on, but I intend to find out, damn it! I wonder why Kagome walked off by herself anyway? Oh yeah, she wanted someone to get firewood, and I refused. Crap.' He began to feel guilty, but didn't have the time as he landed in the small clearing where Kagome and Kikyou were facing off, the living miko tied to a tree again, and the dead one aiming an arrow at her chest. He watched as both of his loves turned to look at him, one in fear, the other in sick, twisted delight. And then Kikyou let the arrow fly.
`No amount of demon speed can beat that arrow………" Before he had completed that thought, he realized his body was moving on it's own accord, and Tetsusaiga was pulsing at his side. Quickly drawing his father's fang, he leapt in front of the arrow, only to have it strike the blade itself, overcoming its power again and continuing towards the hanyou's chest.
When Kagome realized what Inuyasha was doing, she increased her struggles, an odd growl rising in her throat as the demons refused to release her. The growl, coupled with a blast of strong miko powers and a glowing Shikon shard on her necklace, finally gained her her freedom. Just as the arrow pressed against the transformed sword, Kagome moved to position herself in front of the hanyou, shielding him with her own body. Just as the katana reformed to it's rusty shape, the young time-traveler leapt before Inuyasha, only having enough time to register Kikyou's smile as the arrow pierced her chest, exactly where Inuyasha himself had been struck 50 years ago when he was pinned to the tree. On him, it would have hit his heart.
Kagome slumped to her knees, her hand unconsciously reaching up to grasp the arrow, wanting to pull it out but unable to. Instead, she purified the dark energy surrounding it, keeping the aura from poisoning her own. At a gentle touch at her shoulder, trying to pull her into a laying position, she looked up into Sango's brown eyes, then over to Miroku, who stood holding her bag with one arm, and digging through it with his other hand, the one with the curse on it, trying to find her First-Aid kit.
Inuyasha, on the other hand, was PISSED. He had tried to forgive Kikyou. She had hurt Kagome before, but never this badly. She had intended to kill him AND her. And to think, he had been trying to figure out which one he loved more! He had even made a list of the things he liked and disliked about each of them. Well, scratch out every one of Kikyou's good qualities. THIS was not Kikyou. This was an abomination. Even more so than he, himself, was.
The three humans plus a worried kitsune and fire-cat looked over to the hanyou who simply stared at Kagome, or, to be more precise, her wound, where the blood was still flowing. He snarled in his rage, the growl growing louder as it vibrated throughout his chest, so full of anger and hatred that it made even Kikyou take a step back, only to end up having that malevolent glare turned on her. Inuyasha plunged the katana into the ground before his friends, willing it to protect them, since it could not be used against a miko and her purifying powers. But, without this seal on his demon blood, when he raised his eyes to Kikyou's, she saw only pure-red eyes, with a single dot of blue in them, signifying his pupils, and a jagged purple stripe on each cheek. Her dead, cold eyes widened in fear as he bared his lengthening fangs, his growl making all of the souls forcibly held inside her body wish for release simply to not have to face this creature.

Well! This is my first attempt at a lemon, so of course, mine has to have SOME kind of plot. I guess……… Okay, maybe it doesn't have much of a plot, but hey! Hope you like it anyways!! Don't worry, though, things will get lemony in a little while!!
