InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ BLOODY KISSES: of death may come. ❯ WE give them heaven on earth, if only for a little while ( Chapter 3 )
A/n: just thought this might interest you, every character has his or her own background (had a great time thinking them up) this has a lot to do with how they react and do. Little by little I will tell there history and you'll find out how they became vampires, how old they are and what they used to be. I thought this would give the story something extra.
Disclaimer: well I still don't own Inu yasha but I think this is common knowledge, I do however own the idea of this story.

Chapter 3: We give them heaven on earth, if only for a short while.
The first thing Kagome became aware of was that she was in the pitch dark, the second was that when she tried to raise her hand she was stopped by a heavy object. For a few seconds Kagome was confused but then the memories of last night washed back and Kagome remembered that she was no longer at home but with strangers sleeping in a coffin.
A great sadness took Kagome away from reality while she thought how her family must be feeling by now, and Kikyo, Kikyo who had already blamed her self that night when se was dragged into the alley. She must be feeling horrible and she couldn't even go to them to say everything was fine.
Slowly Kagome muddled through her thoughts until she was suddenly blinded by light and the memory of sunlight still fresh in her mind Kagome threw her arms up to protect her face. A soft chuckle reached Kagome's ears and she peeked through her arms to see Sango standing over her.
"A bit skitty about light aren't you? Well that was to be suspected with that little stunt Inu yasha pulled yesterday." Sango reached out with her hand and Kagome gladly took it to get out of the coffin.
She still couldn't believe she had spend the night in a actually coffin and watched it with curiosity while Sango did a quick search through her closet looking for some fresh clothing for Kagome.
When Sango turned around she noted the staring gaze of Kagome. "Strange isn't it, we all think its horrible the first time we lei down in it and then the you wake up and feel better rested then you ever felt even after sleeping in a define bed."
Kagome nodded in agreement and took the soft grey pants and lilac sweater from Sango. For a few minutes Kagome was busy with changing her cloths keeping her own bra and panties on. Taking her hair from underneath the sweater she looked at Sango.
"Tell me are there other things true- Kagome suddenly asked when Sango turned to go for the door, the ebony haired girl stopped in her tracks- such as holy water and crosses and how about silver?"
For a few minutes Kagome thought she wasn't going to get a answer but then Sango's started to shake, first with little jerky moves then she bursted out in a howling laughter. Kagome threw the worry she had been feeling aside obviously Sango wasn't upset by her question.
It took the magenta orbed girl a long time to calm down, Kagome just folded her arms before her chest and tried not to look offended. She didn't quite succeed. "don't worry little gal you can ask anything you want we vampires don't upset that easily, you know with all the practice we get… Sango let the sentence trail of and waved her hand fugally and walked out of the room not looking back to see if Kagome was following she didn't need to.
For just a heartbeat Kagome staid in the room pouting but then took of after the vampire woman rushing to catch up Kagome didn't take much notice from her surroundings. But even in her hast she noticed some of the splendor and halfway down a artfully carved staircase she stopped to look at a detailed painting from a young woman/girl.
The black haired female was posing but for some reason she managed to look so natural like the painter had caught her in a moment of daydreaming and decided not to let his chance pas. The woman's eyes had a far away dreamy look in them like she was seeing something no one else was able to, something wonderful and magic.
Kagome felt her self wondering what it could have possible been that made her look like she was seeing heaven. And then there was something else in the young woman's brown eyes a glint of mischievous, it gave her another dimension. And then there was the weird way she put up her hair, most of it was hanging down but a small part was pulled up in a goofy looking pigtail at the side of her head.
Her clothing was that of a Japanese Hime but when Kagome took a step back to be able to take in the total painting (the thing was huge) she started noticing other specifics. The unnatural pale skin color, the irises like rare brown diamante. This was no human girl, she was a vampire.
Taking another surprised step back Kagome felt her foot slip and lost her footage. For a moment everything seemed to go in slow-motion the painting was exchanged for the ceiling and Kagome's stomach did an unpleasant flip flop.
Before she could begin her bumpy ride down however two strong arms sneaked around her waist and she felt her self fall into a rock hard chest. Opening her eyes she had closed in fear Kagome looked up in two sparkling Safire bleu colored eyes.
The man helped her back up on her feet and Kagome turned around to face him so she could thank him properly. All the while she could feel his eyes on her and when she was finally facing him she felt she was momentarily short of words while she took in her knight in shinning armor. Or more like knight in black leather.
He was just as tall as Inu yasha but that was were the resembles stopped. This vampire for vampire he was no doubt about it, had long black hair pulled back up in a high ponytail. He had a brown leather headband and a smaller similar one on his right wrist. The rest of him was put up in black skin fitting jeans, mean looking boots with silver buckles at the sides that gleamed wickedly a sleeveless skin fitting black shirt stretched over his chest displaying the tout muscles underneath it and to top it of he wore a long black leather dust coat.
Kagome kept staring for a few moments more until she heard somebody clearing her throat. Coming out of her stupor she looked to the right behind Kouga seeing Sango standing there watching her with a obvious gleam in her magenta eyes. Kagome would be hearing about this for a looooooong time yet.
Clearing her own throat Kagome turned back to the stranger who hadn't bothered to take his eyes of, of her. "thanks for catching me- Kagome began fidgeting under the intense look he was watching her- I'm Higurashi Kagome, I'm new." She ended her sentence thinking this was enough explanation.
Behind Kouga Sango rolled her eyes and pushed him aside. Getting hold of a sleeve of the lilac sweater she went back down pulling Kagome with her. A bit overwhelmed Kagome threw a look back over her shoulder and noticed the black haired man followed them.
Abruptly looking forward again Kagome concentrated on getting down the stairs. Trying to take her mind of the dark stranger following them thought back on the unanswered question she asked Sango in the bedroom.
"Uhm Sango are you going to answer my questions?" they reached the hall and for the first time Kagome recognized her surroundings when they entered the salon she had awoken in last night.
Sango directed Kagome back on the Queen Anne seat the dark stranger walked into the room and settled down in the seat Sango had set in last night directly opposite her. Sango went to sit down a bit to her right.
"Well let me begin with introducing Kouga to you and since you already told your own name further introductions aren't necessary." Kagome wiggled on her seat Kouga's eyes were still on her and now there was this typical male small on his lips. She was now truly starting to feel uncomfortable and it made her concentrate with all her being on Sango just to stop feeling his eyes piercing her.
Sango rolled her eyes again and lashed out hitting Kouga over the head. Or at least she tried to but the black haired man jumped from his seat out of the way. "Kouga stop upsetting the new girl or I will find a way to make you pay. Now- she turned back to face Kagome- about you question no the legend about crosses, holy water and silver are not true. We can however be killed but those way's are hard and need great force and precision. One way is of course the sun then you have the helpless state we are in when asleep, hence the spells we put on or coffins and the good old stake through the heart or a bullet for that matter and fire." Kouga snorted at the last but one glare of Sango made him shut up.
"Anyway I wanted to talk about your family, I think you would very much like to see them don't you?" Kagome's eyes took a hopeful gleam and for a moment Sango felt sorry for what she was about to do but it was all for the best. Kagome needed to start and except her new life as soon as possible, especially with the trouble.
"You think its possible to go and see them… the look in Sago's eyes made her stop in her sentence. Slowly Sango started to shake her head. "Even though I imagine you would love to see them and tell them your fine, you can't. your not human anymore and we can't allow you to. Therefore Sesshoumaru has ordered that Kouga and me are to guide you the first few months and make sure you are not doing anything you shouldn't be doing."
With each sentence Kagome felt more crushed she had so hoped to sneak of and go home even if it was for just a few hours. But Sango wasn't finished yet. "We will also be your teachers, we will guide you on you hunts and explain you the rules."
By now Kagome was completely feeling crushed, there would be no getting back to her family. She felt awful her disappearance would give her family much grief and pain and with that thought a spark of anger and stubbornness inflamed her.
"You can't do this I want to see my family, I need to see them. Who gave you the right to keep me away from my family. It's not fair not to me and not to them." Kagome was all heated up by the end of her little tirade. It didn't seemed to have impressed the two vampires although Kouga seemed to enjoy it.
When something moved Kagome tore her eyes from Kouga and looked at Sango who was sadly shaking her head. "We don't have the right but you must understand that even if most legends aren't true few of them are. Vampiress can not enter a house unless they're invited but when one is invited all others have access as well, going to your family will only bring them in harms way. Believe me we have our ways to know were there is an easy prey and I don't think you want your family to be brought harm?"
Horror shone in Kagome's silver eyes she never thought that just her being at home would bring her family harm, the very thought sickened her. "But what about meeting them outside the house?" Kagome asked, she needed to know if all roads were cut off.
"I'm afraid that's impossible, again your family would me marked and vampires will find them. We all have talents some of us can presume glamour spells and pretend to be what they are not. It's a game to them." Sango said disapprovingly.
"We have high morals but other vampires don't really care about feelings and they think its great sport to make humans suffer before they drink them dry." At her left Kouga sneered and walked of to the now fixed window. Because the room was only lit by moonlight large patches of shadow swallowed him and standing there by the window only his silhouette was visible.
Taking her eyes of him she looked back to Sango. "So no matter what I do I will only bring them pain and suffering?" the question was said in such a way that Sango felt a stab of pain.
"Well to be crud, yes." She left her seat and walked to the hearth that seemed empty without the big from of Sesshoumaru and Kagome wondered where he was. Sango grabbed a poker and pushed the wood around making things spark.
After a while she placed the metal stick back and turned around. "We better start your lessons. We will start with feeding." Kagome didn't like the sound of that it made her feel dead sure that she wasn't going to like this one bit.
"Since your new you will need to feet at least once every three nights, if you don't the hunger will overpower you and you won't only expose yourself but hurt your dinner." Kagome swallowed hard and took her eyes from Sango she was indeed not going to like this one bit.
Her face turned away from both vampires Kagome tried to reason. "isn't there an other way to keep alive like drinking from animals, I thought vampires could live on animals?" A dark chuckle from the window told her she wouldn't be drinking from animals.
Kouga stepped out of the shadows and into a large beam of moonlight, it gave him the appearance of a angelic being. "You won't be able to feet on them, none of the young vampires are. Its quite simple really the older you get the lesser blood you need to sustain yourself also you don't need to drink your victims dry when you're a century or two." A careless motion of his hand he emphasized the age and Kagome felt like crying.
"You can't mean this- Kagome turned to Sango her face looking pleading- I can not take someone's life, I could never do this. There must be an other way, please?"
Sango's face turned stony but before she could tell Kagome in kind words what choices she had Kouga bead her to the punch. "Listen life isn't fair and hard and its ten times harder on vampires. We lose everything when we come into this new life and only the most will full vampires survive. But what's more if you don't feet the hunger will overtake you and you would become nothing but a mindless killer until your hunger is seen to and nine out of ten hunger crazed vampires prey on those they knew from life." Kouga was standing next to Kagome now and his Safire eyes held hers telling her that she was right to think she would be the one killing her own family.
"Believe me you don't want that on your conscious." He whispered a strain on his voice before he abruptly parted from her to take his previous position by the window. For just a second Kagome wondered about that last sentence from Kouga but then her mind went back on more important matters.
"So your saying I'll have to eat or my instincts will make sure I do an in a most disastrous way." She looked at Sango waiting for the ebony haired girl to answer all she got was a short nod. Kagome's shoulders slummed. "Well I could always kill myself." She murmured.
"You won't be able to, your instincts will make you try anything to survive, believe me just listen to us follow the rules and you'll do just fine. Feeding isn't that bad, we bring our victims in a state of greatest happiness when we take there lives, they die thinking they found heaven on earth. According to Miroku the souls of those we kill always pass on without regret or pain its our gift to them."
Kagome snorted. "Well some gift lies and a premature death." From the doorway someone chuckled and Miroku walked in touching something on the wall and soft electric light flashed on.
Everyone in the room blinked there eyes to adjust to the sudden bright light and Kagome was just a bit to late to see what happened to make Miroku bite dust again although Sango's tirade didn't leave much in the darkness. "You pervert, will you ever learn to keep those hands to yourself. One of these days I will save the trouble for the hunters and finish you myself." She was fuming by the end of it and Kagome looked at the beaten Miroku with interest while he pushed himself up on his feet.
"But dear lady Sango I was just dusting of some dirt from your lovely form, I am but a humble servant from Buddha and would never think to do something inappropriate to your person." He placed his hands together as if in prayer and made a short bow. Sango just snorted and stomped of to the nearest chair keeping one eye on Miroku the whole while.
The Monk however now had his eyes on Kagome. Feeling for the first time since the tragedy like laughing Kagome's eyes twinkled and Miroku gave her a big wink. "Well that didn't go to well, but lovely Lady Kagome about what you were saying when I walked in and saved dear Lady Sango from the tragedy of walking with a dusty butt. It is true when we kill in the right way we do gift our prey, I have seen many soul rise from the drained body and leave for whatever place more than happy. We give them peace of mind and take away there worries and pain, they are the only dead souls that are truly free."
Kagome's face hardened. "Well maybe there free but what about family and friends?" she fixed Miroku with a try- talking- your- way- out- of- this- one- look. But Miroku didn't seem to mind her accusation at all. He merely looked at Sango and gestured her to take over, the ebony haired woman did.
"That is why we choose our prey carefully, we only take the very sick and weak or old. People that are suffering in live and for who death is a kind release from there pain. The family and friends have been awaiting there death so we don't harm them much."
By now Kagome began to feel a bit helpless no matter which way she turned or what reason she presented they found a way to make it sound not so bad. For just a second Kagome felt stubborn but then she accepted her fait.
Although she couldn't hear it the three other vampires in the room sighed in relieve that she accepted her new fait, now they could truly begin helping the girl on in her new unnatural live.
"Right, I will hunt with you and I think we better head out for the night that way we have enough time. When we get back Kouga will start you training. There is a lot you must learn." Sango said standing up.
Motioned Kagome on she left the salon Kagome followed les than enthusiastic. Sango walked through the great hall to the huge doors and opened one of them waiting for Kagome to pass before closing them.
"Because you don't have top speed yet we'll take one of Inu yasha's motor bikes, that way we'll reach my usual hunting ground in just a half hour." Sango said leading Kagome to a build on garage with one huge door standing open.
Once inside she went to a small locker hanging on the wall and opened it picking a key from between the great amount. Blinking Kagome followed her and gasped when they turned a corner.
Standing there must be the biggest collection of automobiles and motors in the world. And from what Kagome knew about those only the most precious and costly models stood here. Sango acted like it was normal and went to a black Ninja model motor.
Putting the key in its lock she freed the black monster from the lock and started pushing it to the entrance from which they had came. Kagome was still digesting what she was seeing until she remembered Sango telling her that these belonged to Inu yasha.
Rushing after her mentor to keep up Kagome had a feeling of dread. "Won't Inu yasha mind that we use his stuff?" Sango kept going.
"Inu yasha won't mind he's actually quite nice once you get to know him, he just shows it in a code language. You'll catch on soon enough." Sango said when she saw Kagome's disbelieving face.
Rolling her eyes Kagome followed Sango outside and watched the silver clad woman clime upon the black motor, Kagome had to give it to her that she made a striking look in with her silver colored button up shirt and wide flowing silver pants.
"Sango aren't you cold in just that?" Kagome suddenly asked when she realized that teeny tiny snowflakes started to fall down. Then she got caught up in the whole new sight her vampire eyes presented her with.
Gasping in wonder Kagome watched the perfect formed white icy flakes dance down to earth were they fell and graced the ground. Then her eyes fell on the ground and she started to watch the intricate pattern the flakes laid down. She could have just stood there watching this forever if Sango hadn't snapped her out of it.
"Earth to Kagome, hello is anyone home?" one feet away Sango watched Kagome with glittering eyes. "Well I see that you have found out the alluring temptation vampire sight has, but I also think we really should be going." She grabbed Kagome and howled her on the motor making sure the girl was sitting comfortable at the back. "We have places to go and I'm sure Kouga would love to start you training as soon as possible."
Sango Kicked the machine into action and made the motor purr a few times before taking of. Kagome felt her self being flung backwards but managed to hold on to Sango just in time. Flying down a long and what Kagome could tell of it ancient lain the motor took them away from the old villa and to western territory.
To hunting grounds of the vampire know as Taijiya there, where but few foolish vampires who had challenged them for her and none had lived. Now she would be bringing another hunter to this precious place her self. Strangely enough she didn't mind that much, there was something about Kagome that she liked.
