Chapter 1
New Bodyguard
(a/n: ill say it just once. Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha)
“What?” the raven haired girl gasped.
“Fired,” Her friend answered. Kagome and Sango were both sitting in the younger girl's living room. Flowers and plants were everywhere, as Kagome loved their fresh scent. Everything about the place was neat and clean, looking almost pure.
“No fair! He was my bodyguard! I should have been the one to fire him!”
“Well…She insisted…” Sango said with a sigh.
“Urgh! I hate Kikyo sometimes!” Kagome whined
“Yeah, Kagome, everyone does…”
“I should have her fired for this!”
“Really?” a pale looking woman said as she entered the room.
“Kikyo! You fired Hiten!” Kagome raged.
“Yes, I did.” She answered calmly.
“I can't believe you!” Kagome yelled.
“He was going to steal that jewel,” Sango pointed out.
“The Shikon no tama?” Kagome gasped.
“Yes,” Kikyo nodded.
“Well I maintain my point; you should have told me. I would have fired him.”
“Well, what's done is done. You need a new bodyg-”
“Wait! You're not getting away with this so easily!”
“Oh really? What are you going to do? Fire me?” Kikyo smirked.
“I just might!” Kagome challenged.
“Really? Go ahead.”
“Urgh!” she spat and walked out the room.
“Kikyo, one day she really is going to fire you…” Sango started.
“Oh well, better have fun while it lasts.” She laughed a little then went back to her `I-show-no-emotion mode' and walked out the door, leaving Sango on the couch sighing.

“Now, what did you say your name was again?” Sango questioned with a smile.
“Miroku,” a sweet looking young boy answered.
“Hello, Miroku. I'm Sango. So you're here for the stylist job?” She asked as she scribbled something on her notebook. She was sitting at her desk. Kagome had asked her to hire a new stylist because she was not very sceptical about all of her help…
“Yes,” came the calm reply.
“Okay. Now, can you hand me your resume?”
“Of course, here it is.” He said as he handed it to her. He sat back on his chair, fiddling nervously.
“Okay, well, you're the best one so far…” she commented, reading.
“Really? So I have chances?” Miroku beamed.
“I think so…” Sango said with a smile.
“Great!”
“Okay, I'll keep this. Thank you for coming! We'll contact you if you're chosen,” she stated in her best business-like voice.
“Perfect. Thank you so much!” Miroku said with a grin. She was pretty hot too, he thought.
While he was walking out the door, she called him back and asked “Um… Just a little question; are you…gay?”
“What? No! I just like styling. Why? Is that a problem? I can change!” he said hastily.
“No, no that won't be necessary,” she laughed, “I just…wanted to know.” She blushed. Boy, does he want the job…she thought with another giggle.

“I got you a stylist!” Sango said happily while walking in Kagome's room. Just like the living room, Kagome's room seemed full of flowers and plants, smelled like a garden, and looked neat and clean.
“Yeah? You seem a little too happy…” she commented with a frown
“Oh?” Sango blushed, “I-I don't know…”
“Anyway… Wanna go shopping?” came the excited request.
“You can't.” Sango said, her smile suddenly disappearing.
“Why not?” Kagome asked, confused.
“No bodyguard.”
“Oh…I don't need one!” She whined.
“Yes you do. Who wouldn't want to kidnap the Kagome Higurashi?” Sango joked.
“Urgh…” Kagome sighed.

“Name?”
“Inuyasha.”
“Age?”
“22.”
“That's young,” Kikyo said with an uncharacteristic frown.
“Well, I'm good at what I do,” The man with dark, long, black hair smirked, winking at the cold woman.
“Why so?” Kikyo questioned, ignoring the wink and the smirk all-together, even thought it made her want to blush.
“I like it,” he answered simply.
“When did you start?” Kikyo sighed, already tired of this interview.
“When I was 17,” Inuyasha said, almost smiling at the memory.
“Okay…” Kikyo said quietly as she scribbled some notes on her notebook.
“So?”
“I'll get Kagome,” Kikyo said with a fake smile. With that said she dialled Kagome's number on her cell.
“Yeah?” Kagome asked over the phone.
“Come check,” Kikyo said, sounding bored.
“Check what?” Kagome asked, confused.
“Your bodyguard,” Kikyo answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Already?” Kagome chirped.
“I fired Hiten two days ago,” Kikyo said smugly.
“I'll be there in a minute,” came the sweet reply.
Inuyasha was stunned. She called Kagome over the phone. That was so unprofessional. Of course, he didn't know that Kagome hated being treated differently than anyone else. Except in some cases…like firing her bodyguard.
“Yo” She said walking in Kikyo's office. Inuyasha was astounded. She was wearing hipster shorts and a tank top. Her hair was up in a messy bun. “What are you staring at?” she asked.
“Nothing…” he mumbled, looking away. How was he supposed to act when he saw one of the most beautiful women in the world, and the prettiest in Japan, walking towards him in such casual clothes?
“Good,” She smiled. She was beautiful when she smiled.
“Aren't you a little young?” she asked him, raising her eyebrows.
“He says he's good at what he does.” Kikyo answered before he had time to open his mouth. “Background check was good. No drugs, alcoholic problems… Never been in jail…”
Inuyasha smirked. I'm too good to be caught, he thought.
“Oh. Well, I guess he's okay,” Kagome shrugged.
“That's it?” Inuyasha asked, a little confused.
“Yeah,” She smiled again. “Now I can go shopping. Kikyo, show him to his room please.”

“So, there you go. Kagome's expecting you to be ready in twenty minutes. She wants to go shopping.” Kikyo sighed.
“What? I have to go shopping with her?” the newly-hired bodyguard asked in disbelief.
“Not really. You don't have to actually stay with her. Just outside the stores.”
“Fine,” He sighed, “What should I wear?”
“Well, you should wear formal clothes, but Kagome would kill you. So you can just wear jeans and a tee,” Kikyo said. It would be impossible to reason with the girl, anyway…
Inuyasha just shrugged.
