Kagome touched the top of her head to make sure it was still there. The fight had moved away from her, and into an open field. Sesshoumaru had once again came to bother the small group. Why he would pop up once in a great while, to just harass his younger brother had always puzzled her. He said he hated Inuyasha, but some of his actions made him out to be a lier.
She was about to launch one of her holy arrows, but remember how futile it was. Sesshoumaru had the nasty ability to dissolve them in his hands. She had never seen other demon do that, but him. Was his power beyond those of the other demons? She didn't know, but she was determined to found out one day.
Watching two half-brothers fight it out was not her idea of fun. Would she yell out Inuyasha's name over and over again, like she tend to do a lot at times like those? A small feeling of disgusted started in her gut, and the the longer she stood there watching the fight, the worse the feeling got. What could she do for her friend when her only weapon was useless to protect him with? She thought the real reason she cried out his name was out of her own frustration more then anything else.
Sesshoumaru was toying with Inuyasha, pushing the younger brother to his breaking point and beyond. The mere smell of him made Sesshoumaru sick. He couldn't even muster up the will power to kill Inuyasha's friends. He had walked the Earth for more years then he could recall, and his father had been beyond ancient. Inuyasha, with most people had no idea of the truth that was right in front of them. Sesshoumaru knew things about the history of the world, that was being lost with each new generation of man and demon alike. He had saw the Golden Age, has the ancient islands had been called down through the ages. He had walked the streets of Atlantis, has well has Mu itself. He had saw the ships, from far away worlds land by the grand palaces of the Grand Ones. Sesshoumaru tried to keep those memories away from the front of his thoughts. They wouldn't serve him anymore good, has the Age of Man was in full swing. It would be other 550 years, before They would come back.
Kagome was glad when Sesshoumaru took off into the sky for parts unknown. It took her quite awhile to shake the queer feeling she always got being around his mere presence. She thought something was truly different about him, she knew that has a fact. She had never seen other demon act the way he did, the way he talked, and handle Inuyasha was a bit tricky for her to pin down. It was like he acted like the world was one way, but he refuse to acknowledge the way it really was for everyone else.
Sesshoumaru's feet softly touched the floor of an ancient forest. It was one of the last remaining areas from the long forgotten days of his youth. The Earth had changed so much over the ages, it bothered him intensely. He tried to keep those feeling down, and when he needed to recollect his thoughts he would pay a vistit to his favorite forest. He breathed in the air that contained the last of the remaining flowers that could be only found in those woods, at one time they had covered the entire surface of the planet. When the time would come, when even the old forest would be gone with those last remaining flowers of bygone days, he would miss them all inimitably.
"Why do bother to keep coming here?" questioned Husion.
Sesshoumaru went up to a tree that had an almost a human face to it. He didn't bother to answer it's question. Hursion asked it again, but still no response from him. They both knew the humans would move their community into the area of the forest soon enough. Sesshoumaru had watch has the small creatures were turning the world for their entire use. The old way of doing things had been long forgotten in the mind of men.
They say that time stands still for no man, and make that no demon either. Sesshoumaru tried his best to keep to himself, and wait for the next five and half centuries to pass right by without any interruption by him. The only fact he knew for sure of the time and place, when They would come back to Earth. Sesshoumaru wondered what the men-breast, he liked to call them could do in that time span.
Kagome and the rest of the gang were busy licking their wounds from Sesshoumaru. She had to get back home that night to see her father get home from being in America for 6 years. He had been sent there to ran a plant, and she only got pictures and the rare phone call home from him. Kagome had mixed feelings about seeing him after so many years. After everyone was fixed up, she told them she had some test or something to do the next day for school, and ran for the well by herself that night. She started out at a slow jog, but the thought of just getting it done and over with seeing her father, she ended up at full speed run.
Sesshoumaru could see the small human village that was still far off, but he knew would one day it would reach his woods. Most men-breast were force to live by the light of the sun, making them go indoors at night. It was rare to see one at night, and even rarer to see one ranning with a torch that made light that wasn't by fire. He smelled the scent that was carried by the soft breeze to know who it was, one of Inuyasha's men-breast friends, the human girl called Kagome.
To be continued.
