Chapter 6 : Day One
It was dusk when they arrived at Sesshoumaru's Castle in the Western Lands. The magestic beauty of it left her breathless. The castle itself looked to be made of solid marble, and all around it there were flowers of all shapes, sizes, and types. 'No doubt all the flowers are for Rin.' Kagome thought to herself. Kagome remembered Rin giving her a baquet of flowers when they had joined under one force to defeat Naraku.
As the swirling mist descended towards the ground, Kagome got ready for the landing. Suprisingly it was smooth. "This way." Kagome followed Sesshoumaru up the steps into the castle. The doors seemed to open just as he aproached, yet when they went inside, no one was seen. Kagome looked at the murals painted on the ceiling as he lead her to Rin's room. No other place Kagome could think of could come close to matching the splendour of the place she was now.
Sesshoumaru opened a sliding door and waited for her to enter, before closing it behind them. Rin was lying asleep on the futon, so Kagome felt her head, and found that she had a slight temperature, and she had little red bumps all over. "Chicken Pox and a touch of the flu, I'd say." She spoke mainly to herself and got out a bottle of tylenol she had brought from the future for Shippou when he had been sick. She measure out half a teaspoon and woke Rin to have her take it. "It doesn't taste too good, but it will help, and don't scratch no matter how bad you itch." Rin nodded to show she understood, and Kagome gave her a small glass of cool water before letting her lie back down to go to sleep. Kagome sponged her forehead with cool cloth to help clear her sinuses and ease the pain in her headache. Slowly Rin fell into a peaceful sleep. Kagome sighed and stood up, rubbing her eyes. It had to be near midnight by now. She turned, and found Sesshoumaru watching her movements.
"Rin should sleep for the rest of the night without any major discomfort. I will give her some more medicine in the morning. She should start to feel better in a couple days, and she should be well again in a week."
"Very well. I'll show you to your room. You will be next door, incase Rin needs your assistance, and in the morning I would like for you to bathe before you treat her. You reek of that human village. There is clothing in the closet. Help yourself."
"I don't see how that is possible when I was only there a few minutes after I took a bath, but I would like to take a bath in the morning nonetheless."
Sesshoumaru opened the sliding door, and waited for her to enter. "Do not wonder around the castle at night. If you get lost, do not expect me to recover you." He slid the door shut and went on about his normal business.
"Thanks." Kagome said sarcastically. "I can already tell it's going to be a great week." She sighed once again and went to bed.
