Broken Inside

Disclaimer: I don't own Inu-Yasha or any other characters. I'm not a big fan of Kikyo's but I thought this song would be so perfect for her. Also I'm in a sad mood. Oh yeah, the song's actually called Nobody's Home and it's by Avril Lavigne.

~*~

I couldn't tell you,

Why she felt that way,

She felt it everyday.

And I couldn't help her.

I just watched her make,

The same mistakes again.

~*~

Kagome watched the miko wander away. Kikyo had come to see Inu-Yasha again. She was looking for some way to go back. Back to when she was with Inu-Yasha; back to when she was alive. Kagome had tried to understand Kikyo's feelings but it was impossible. All she could do was feel sorry for her.

~*~

What's wrong, what's wrong now?

Too many, too many problems.

Don't know where she belongs,

Where she belongs.

~*~

Kikyo's eyes were once again filled with tears. Where was she supposed to go? She had no one. She had nowhere. She had nothing. Even her sister wasn't her sister anymore. She didn't fit in anywhere. She'd tried starting over in several villages. It never worked.

~*~

She wants to go home,

But nobody's home.

That's where she lies,

Broken inside.

With no place to go,

No place to go,

To dry her eyes.

Broken inside…

~*~

Her soul was shattered. Even if she took all of Kagome's soul it wouldn't be the same. It would still be… broken. Nothing could mend her now. She placed her hand over her heart. She could feel it. She could feel the pieces of her soul. The clay of her body felt so hollow…

~*~

Open your eyes,

And look outside.

Find the reasons why,

You've been rejected.

Now you can't find,

What you've left behind.

~*~

Why did Inu-Yasha continue to send her away? Why wouldn't he take her back into his arms? She needed something from her past to hold onto. She needed an anchor to stop her from drifting away. Did she even exist anymore? Was she really Kikyo?

~*~

Be strong, be strong now.

Too many, too many problems.

Don't know where she belongs,

Where she belongs.

~*~

No one would take her as she was. Even Kaede rejected her. She wanted to end her so-called existence. Nothing could be worse than the emptiness inside; the brokenness inside. She had come back wrong. She was damaged and unwanted.

~*~

She wants to go home,

But nobody's home.

That's where she lies,

Broken inside.

With no place to go,

No place to go,

To dry her eyes.

Broken inside…

~*~

Inu-Yasha called her `cold'. Her body had no warmth. If only he could feel her soul. It burned with pain. Her eyes burned also as fresh tears slipped down her pale cheeks. Her breath came in gasps as she tried to hold in the sobs racking her body. She wanted to be whole… but she was broken inside.

~*~

Her feelings she hides.

Her dreams she can't find.

She's losing her mind.

She's falling behind.

She can't find her place.

She's losing her faith.

She's falling from grace.

She's all over the place.

~*~

It was the first time she'd cried since her resurrection… She didn't know she could feel like that. Feel on the outside. She could barely feel in the inside. She didn't feel alive. She didn't dream, didn't grow. Everyone was passing her. She couldn't grow with anyone, she just… barely existed. Would she ever have a place? Kagome did. It was with Inu-Yasha. She knew this. She just wished it weren't true. She felt weak. Pieces of her soul drained with each tear… She was losing what she had of herself.

~*~

She wants to go home,

But nobody's home.

That's where she lies,

Broken inside.

With no place to go,

No place to go,

To dry her eyes.

Broken inside.

~*~

Each tear shattered her further. She could feel it. But she couldn't stop. It was the first time she'd actually felt in fifty years. She couldn't let go…

~*~

She's lost inside, lost inside…

She's lost inside, lost inside…

I hope you liked the fic. I felt so sad writing this… I might use this song for a Kagome fic, too… Please review. I'd like to know what you think, good or bad.
