InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Broken Spirit, Stolen Heart. ❯ prolog teaser ( Chapter 1 )
A/N: I am posting this prolog to see if people would be interested in this story. This is my first fiction that I have planed out and have crated a plot for. I have never posted my fictions on this site before now. The prolog may have a sense of PG rating to it; but it is only the prolog. Special thanks goes out to my betas Kittengreywords, Kougasgirl, and Fenris. Without them this story would not have what it takes to be a good fan fiction.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inu Yasha or any other character for any series of anime that I might mention or hint at throughout the story. I will say the anime that is crossed over with this will be reveled next chapter.
~*~* PROLOG*~*~
A lone girl stood at the edge of a familiar cliff. She had been coming here for a little over a week now because it was a nice quiet place to think. For her, this place had become a refuge, a place where her broken spirit could find the solace it so desperately needed. It overlooked a forest, "HIS" forest. As she stood on the edge of her cliff, allowing her toes to hang over the side she let the tears she had been holding back all day to finally break through her facade. She hadn't told anyone where she had been going or why. She didn't want nor deserve their sympathy. They each had lost almost if not everything they held dear; so much more than she had; she didn't want to add to their burden. The sun began to set fire to the horizon, illuminating her face with is bright red hues making the tears spilling over her lashes shine with an incandesce that resembled the very fire of her soul. As the girl stood watching the sun surrender itself unto the night, a pair of golden eyes watched her as they had all week since her return, watching, waiting to see what she would do. He heard her draw in a deep breath and move forward. With her hair and the wind becoming one, she leaned closer and closer to the abyss waiting below. Just as the eyes prepared to watch her fall, she straightened up and took a careful step back. The owner of the set of eyes let out the breath he unknowingly held, as the girl turned back towards her comrades. He followed her as her form slowly disappeared among the trees making sure to stay down wind and out of sight. She intrigued him; little in this world could claim to hold that kind of power over him. He had to know what was going on in that mind of hers. Didn't she know she was tempting fate? To teeter on the edge of a cliff was to ask for death's grip to claim her very soul. What could possibly have happened to push this beautiful woman so close to the edge, to a point where she could only barter with fate to keep her soul from the icy cold hands of Death?
Well what do you think? Please review and let me know if I should post the rest of this story.
