Chapter 25

Birthday

After work everyone was getting ready to leave. Kagome and Rin were wary of Sango. She'd acted like nothing happened earlier. "Since we have this bet going does that mean we can wear whatever we want?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, since the uniforms are usually chosen by the hentai we can choose what we wear." Sango said.

"We never agreed to that." Miroku said.

Sango kissed him on the lips. "Too late." She said. She grabbed his shirt and dragged him towards the door. "Let's go, hentai. Bye everyone."

"Bye." Everyone said.

"Guess we should get going." Sesshomaru said.

"Hai." Rin said.

"I'll lock up then." Kagome said. She grabbed her set of keys and after everyone walked out she locked it. Miroku had given a set of keys to everyone after Kagome left her purse inside and had to hunt it down.

"Bye Kagome, Inuyasha." Rin said. Sesshomaru got inside the car and waited for Rin to get in.

"Bye Rin, Sesshomaru." Kagome said.

Inuyasha grabbed her arm and dragged her over to his car. "Come on." He said.

"You don't have to drag me." Kagome said. Inuyasha let go and she got in the car.

Inuyasha started the car and drove to Kagome's apartment. When they got there he parked in the front. He got out with her. "What are you following me for?" Kagome asked.

"You're not staying." Inuyasha said when they got in the apartment.

"What do you mean I'm not staying?" Kagome said.

"Grab some clothes and let's go." Inuyasha said.

"What for?" Kagome said. "I'm not doing anything until you tell me what's going on?"

"Fine, I'll pack for you." Inuyasha said. He walked into her room.

"Hey!" Kagome said.

Inuyasha locked the door. He grabbed a bag and went through her dressers. He picked out some clothing and threw them in. He could hear Kagome screaming and pounding on the door.

Unlocking the door he walked out of the room. "Let's go." He said.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" Kagome said.

Inuyasha sighed and put the bag on the couch. He walked over to Kagome and threw her over his shoulder. He grabbed the bag and headed towards the door. "Quit squirming around." Inuyasha said.

"Put me down!" Kagome shouted.

Inuyasha locked the door and went to the elevator. When he got out he walked over to his car. He threw the bag in the backseat and buckled Kagome in the passenger seat. He quickly ran to his side and started the engine.

He looked at Kagome through the corner of his eye. She was sitting in the seat with her arms folded across her chest. He smirked and kept on driving. He drove to Myoga's house.

He parked in front of the building. "Let's go." Inuyasha said.

"Why are we here?" Kagome asked getting out of the car.

"You ask too many questions." Inuyasha said.

"I wouldn't have to ask if you just told me what we were doing." Kagome said.

"Keh." Inuyasha said. He knocked on Myoga's door.

"Hello Inuyasha. Ah, Kagome, you came along. Come in." Myoga said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

"Don't even invite me in." Inuyasha mumbled as he stepped into the apartment.

Shippo saw Kagome and ran towards her. "Kagome!" He said.

Kagome hugged Shippo back. "Hey Shippo." She said.

"Are you coming to my birthday party?" Shippo asked.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha, and he nodded. "Of course I am." Kagome said.

Shippo's face lit up and he ran towards Inuyasha. "I'm ready to go now." He said.

"Let's go then." Inuyasha said.

"I already gave him my gift. He hasn't opened it yet." Myoga said. "Bye."

"Bye." Kagome and Shippo said. They all walked towards the car and got in.

Everyone was silent for the ride back. Shippo fell asleep. It was way past his bedtime. It was his birthday, apparently. Inuyasha had forgotten to mention it. She decided to ask him about it later.

Inuyasha carried Shippo up to his floor. Kagome grabbed her bag from the back and followed him up. She sat down on the couch and waited for him to get back. Inuyasha went into Shippo's room and set him down on the bed.

He walked back out and sat on the couch. "Why didn't you tell me it was Shippo's birthday?" Kagome asked.

"I didn't feel like it." Inuyasha said.

"What's the point of bringing my stuff here?" Kagome asked.

"Shippo wanted you to sleep over like last time." Inuyasha said. "He said he wouldn't fall asleep, and he did."

"You could've said something before you raided my drawers for clothing." Kagome said.

"I thought my way would be faster." Inuyasha said.

Kagome looked through the bag of clothes to figure out what Inuyasha picked out. He picked out a red spaghetti strap shirt, a black mini skirt, and a see through nightgown. She didn't even know she had a black mini skirt. It probably shrank.

"You even picked out my underwear. They match." Kagome said. He picked out a lacy red bra and panties.

"Women like to match right? I didn't think you'd want to go anywhere without clean underwear." Inuyasha shrugged.

Kagome put the things back in the bag and yawned. She was tired. She was usually getting to bed right now. She set the bag next to the couch and leaned back. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her.

Kagome leaned into Inuyasha and closed her eyes. After a while she fell asleep. Inuyasha smiled and moved her into his lap. He brushed the bangs out of her eyes. She was so beautiful in the dim light.

Her face looked shadowed giving her a mysterious look. Her hair was a little messy from when he moved her. The outfit from the club she was still wearing was pulled down, showing more cleavage. Inuyasha smiled and wondered how he was so lucky to be with a girl like her. (Aww he's so sweet. *tear*)

The next morning Kagome opened her eyes. She didn't recognize the room she was in. Everything was red. She rolled over and tried to scream. A hand over her mouth kept her from making a sound.

"Your in my room." Inuyasha said. He took the hand from her mouth.

"Why am I sleeping with you?" Kagome yelled.

"You fell asleep and I didn't feel like carrying you to the guest room." Inuyasha said.

"I can't believe you." Kagome covered herself more with the blanket.

"You're still wearing the same clothes from last night. What's your problem? You've slept with me before." Inuyasha said.

"That's differ..." Kagome stopped when she heard a noise.

Suddenly the door was flung open. Shippo ran in and jumped on the bed. "Wake up!" He yelled. He noticed Inuyasha and Kagome were sharing the same bed. "Are you guys married now?"

"What?" Kagome said.

"We're not married runt. Get off the bed." Inuyasha said.

"You act like your married." Shippo said. "You always go to the same places and now your sleeping together."

"That's because Inuyasha brought me in here because I fell asleep." Kagome said.

"Is that really what happened?" Shippo said. "Inuyasha talks about you a lot and..."

Inuyasha covered Shippo's mouth with his hand. He stood up and walked out of the room with him. Kagome stayed in the bed with the covers on. She had a confused look on her face.

"Don't tell her stuff like that." Inuyasha said putting Shippo down.

"Why not? It's true." Shippo said.

"That doesn't matter." Inuyasha said.

"But you like her a lot. I like her a lot, what's the big deal?" Shippo asked.

"It's just not something you go around blabbing." Inuyasha said.

"Oh, okay." Shippo said. He went back into the room. He sat on the bed next to Kagome. "Inuyasha likes you a lot. I know because he just told me not to say it. He talks about you all the time. I think he loves you."

"SHIPPO!" Inuyasha yelled. Shippo jumped off the bed and ran under Inuyasha's legs. He chased after the little boy though out the house.

Kagome shook her head and got up. While Inuyasha and Shippo were running around Kagome changed into the clothes that Inuyasha grabbed. It wasn't Kagome's taste in clothing but it was better than what she had on.

She went into the bathroom and stripped off her clothing. She put on the new ones and walked back out. She decided to make breakfast since Inuyasha and Shippo were too busy running around.

By the time they got done running around breakfast was done. Kagome had made ramen for Inuyasha and oden for her and Shippo. They all sat down and ate their food. "This is good!" Shippo said.

Inuyasha nodded agreeing with Shippo. They both shoved another serving of food into their mouths. Their food was gone within minutes. They lost a lot of their energy running around so they ate to keep them going.

"When are we going to open presents?" Shippo asked.

Kagome tensed. She hadn't been able to get Shippo a gift. She didn't even know it was his birthday until a while ago. "Soon." Inuyasha said. "Go get dressed first."

Shippo ran out of the kitchen and to his room. "What am I going to do about a present?" Kagome asked.

"Don't worry I got one." Inuyasha said.

"Really?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha nodded and walked into his room. Kagome sat down on the couch and sighed. Shippo then ran into the room and sat down next to her. "Do you like Inuyasha?" Shippo asked.

"Why do you ask?" Kagome said.

"You were sleeping in his bed." Shippo said. "Only married people do that."

"We're not married." Kagome said.

"Then why were you sleeping together?" Shippo asked.

Kagome blushed not really knowing how to answer. "Well, I was tired, and Inuyasha brought me to his bed."

"Is that really what happened?" Shippo asked.

"I'm not going to lie to you Shippo." Kagome said.

"It seems like your married." Shippo said.

"Why do you keep thinking we're married?" Kagome asked.

"You guys act like my parents did. You slept together, talked about each other, and your always together." Shippo said.

"That doesn't mean we're married. We're just going out." Kagome said.

"You guys should get married." Shippo said.

Kagome didn't know what to say. Shippo kept pressing the subject but she honestly didn't know how to answer his questions. She didn't understand why he kept asking about marriage. It was probably the first time she couldn't understand a child.

Shippo wanted them to marry. Since he met Kagome Inuyasha had been more caring towards him. Almost acting like a father. Kagome immediately started acting motherly towards him. So he thought if they got married he'd have a mother and father again.

Inuyasha walked out of his room. He changed into his clothes and fixed his hair. It was tied back in a low ponytail. "How about you open some presents?" Inuyasha said.

"YAY!" Shippo shouted. He stood up and waited. "Where are they?"

"They're under the couch." Inuyasha said.

"I thought you'd hide them somewhere! So that it was hard to find." Shippo said reaching under the couch.

"I know. That's why I hid them in a simple place." Inuyasha said. He sat down next to Kagome.

Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo were now in the car. After Shippo had unwrapped his presents they ate a little cake. He'd gotten everything he wanted. He got art supplies and a few toys that he'd wanted.

They were driving to the daycare center. They planned a surprise birthday party for Shippo. Inuyasha and Kagome was supposed to drop him off like any other day.

"Bye Shippo, have fun. Happy birthday." Kagome said. Shippo waved goodbye and walked in.

Hope you like it. I have no idea where this idea came up. It just did. I'm still sick and it's really starting to make me mad. I can't seem to concentrate on my homework. Not that I could before but more so now. Ugh I hate school. Oh well. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
