InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Can You See Who I Am Inside? ❯ Across Time (part 1) ( Prologue )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Inuyasha looked up. The sky was getting dark and he had little time. He had to get back before he bled out.

*Flashback*

"Kikyo! But I thought...." He looked down at the arrow in his chest as everything around him started to fade. He tried to blink the darkness away but soon, his eyes became vacant as he slipped into unconsiousness.

Two hours later, the hanyou looked down , the arrow was still there....and he was still alive. He took a firm hold of the arrow and crushed the half that was sticking out of his chest. Slowly, painfully, he pushed himself forward, away from the tree, and slid the rest of the arrow from his body before falling to the ground and coughing up a few tablespoons of blood.

*End Flashback*

He still couldn't move very well. He had only been able to stand a few minutes ago and prop himself up beside an old well. He had to think of something. Some where he could go and rest...to hope that his wounds would heal. Out here, he was just a sitting duck for those who hunted him. It wasn't just Kikyo this time. The demon priestess, Tsubaki also wanted his life for a reason he still hadn't figured out. 'What could she possibly want with me?' he asked himself, wiping blood from his mouth with his sleeve. Sighing, he tried again to stand.

"Whatever," he said to noone specific. "I'll make sure that bitch pays for her foolishness. Thinking she could destroy me..." he coughed again, more blood dripping from his mouth. "....with a stupid arrow."

Taking a deep breath, he grabbed the edge of the well and lifted himself to his feet with great effort. Looking around, he sighed, biting back the growls of pain that his pride would not allow him.

There was a small snap and Inuyasha turned his head slowly to see a young woman with black hair and a snake wrapped around her shoulders leaning against a tree a dozen or so yards away. She was smiling, seemingly pleased with herself. "Ah. Inuyasha. There you are," she said in a casual voice, as if greeting an old friend. "I trust you have the jewel, do you not? Hand it over." She held out her hand, still smiling.

Inuyasha smirked slightly. "No, I don't have it, ya old hag so get lost!"

Tsubaki frowned. "You stole it from Kikyo, did you not?"

The half demon renewed his grip in the edge of the well and steadied himself. "Looks like she stole it back, now doesn't it?"

The demon priestess began to look annoyed and began to pet the snake on her shoulders gently. "Worthless half-breed." She smiled again. "No matter. She has been weakened. I'll just take it from her myself." She began to walk away slowly, then turned. "As for you, half-breed...I think I'll have some fun with you..."

Inuyasha flexed his claws, getting ready to fight. It was times like these that he wished he was fully demon.

Tsubaki smiled a little more at this. "So our little hanyou wants to be a real dog, eh? I think I can help with that." She held out her hand and a dark light began to accumulate in her palm. Before he knew it, this light was flying at him.

Inuyasha's first reflex was to jump back, so he did, but he wasn't quick enough. The bolt of light hit him directly in the chest and sent him rolling back...right over the edge of the well. There was blew light all around him, then everything went dark.

He wasn't sure if he was alive or dead....all he knew was that his entire body was in pain....as if he was being ripped apart. Piece by piece, every part of him was being torn away...all that remained was pain.....

A/N: review and tell me what you think. Should I continue? (I don't own Inuyasha)
