Chances

“InuYasha! No!” Kagome yelled, running as fast as her legs could carry her.

She ran towards InuYasha and wrapped her arms around him, he had transformed into a demon, and there was no stopping him this time. He had just finished slaughtering Sango….

~Flashback~

“Shippo, No Stay away from him!” Sango yelled, she was on Kilala and they were flying in the air, she went to swoop up Shippo only to be harshly pushed off by demon InuYasha.

“Urgh” She coughed up blood, her back hit the tree, her boomerang thrown away from her and she watched as Shippo was torn to pieces by bloody claws, InuYasha then moved on to Kilala, she hissed but InuYasha slowly tore her open with his claws, the sharp razor claws that was once there to pet her but was now ripping her apart. The demon slowly stalked towards her and then Miroku jumped in…

“InuYasha, stop it, come back as the hanyou we all know, don't do this, look what you've done, you've killed Shippo!” Miroku tried to reason with him, but there was no room for reasoning this time, a clawed hand came out and stabbed right through the monk, the metallic sent of blood was everywhere. Sango cried and tried to crawl to her weapon, only to have a demon hand grip her leg and slice it, crimson was everywhere, the demon shoved his hand through her heart and watched as she gave her last breathe.

“InuYasha! No!”

~End of Flashback~

“Please InuYasha, look at what you have done, y-you killed them, all of them… Sango… Miroku… Shippo… Kilala…Why? Turn back into a hanyou InuYasha!” Kagome screamed, tears making there way down her soft cheeks, only to fall to the hard ground and mix with the crimson red blood.

“K-Kagome” Was a gruff voice, she looked up to see InuYasha…still demon and crying, his pain was inevitable, his hope lost, his tears pure….his friends…gone.

“I-I'm So Sorry” He slowly chocked out, this was the first time she had seen Demon InuYasha so…so…human.

“I'm Sorry” With that he pushed her away and shoved his clawed hands into his heart, he yelled in pain and slowly fell to the ground…Dead.

“InuYasha! No, Don't, I love you, don't leave me, InuYasha!” The rain started to fall, and all was left was a young Miko, crying at the loss of her friends and love, surrounded by blood….the blood of her friends…and of her love, she never did come back after that, she left for the well and was swallowed by the twilight blue light, never to see the glimpse of her second life, of her friends or InuYasha, she was just a lost soul looking for peace only to end up in pieces.

~Present Time~

“Wow Mom that's a great story, so sad, I feel sorry for the Miko!” Said a little girl with pigtails

“That was Awesome, so much blood!” Said the boy behind her

“Shut up Tiro! You're so sick!” Yelled the girl

“No you shut up Ayumi, You're so sappy!”

“Now kids, be nice, and go to bed ok? We don't have time for this, you have school tomorrow.” An older woman spoke

“K' mom!” They both yelled.

The boy ran to his room waving his hands around yelling “I have claws! I'm a demon fear me!”

The girl stayed behind and looked up at her mom,

“Mom?”

“Yes Ayumi?”

“Is that story true?”

“No Babe, it was just a story”

“Well it was real good mommy, I'll see you tomorrow morning!” And she scurried of to bed

The women stood there for a minute before she went to her room and sat next to the window.

`InuYasha…I've moved on, but you were always the love of my life…tell Sango, Miroku and Shippo I said Hi, I hope your all ok…I'll never forget you…And I'll always love you all, Always yours….Kagome”

Kagome turned off the light and slipped into bed with her husband.

“Hey Hun, You tuck the kids in?”

“Yeah I did Hojo, I did”

“I love you, Kagome…”

“I love you too…” `InuYasha'

Kagome never truly got over the sudden death of her friends or her love. She tried to forget them but never could… her story was of life and death, of lost love, and broken dreams, she never did tell InuYasha she loved him and in return she had to pay with it by losing everyone she held dear. The moral of this story? Don't let chances pass you by…because you might get a nasty surprise.

This Story was to reflect on how things can change in an instance, how if you don't take some chances…you'll be alone. Kagome ended up with the high school prince, but that's not what she wanted she wanted to be with the feudal fantasy….InuYasha…but that wasn't what fate had intended for her…
