Chapter 27

Beach

Kagome was bored. She had nothing to do again. She'd woken up early because her brother and Shippo yelled because of the TV. She had no idea what they were watching but were mad because of it.

Finally getting tired of being bored she called Sango. She was usually up at around nine. She picked up the phone and dialed her number. "Hey Kagome." Sango said.

"Hey, how'd you know it was me?" Kagome asked.

"Who else has an annoying little brother that likes to wake people up at nine in the morning on a Sunday?" Sango said.

"That's true." Kagome said. "So how'd yesterday go?"

"It went fine. Miroku's terms were to make him dinner and he gets to grope me for a week and I can't do anything." Sango said.

"That makes sense. He went a whole week without groping so he's going to want a week of free gropes." Kagome giggled. "I don't get the dinner thing though."

"Neither do I." Sango said. "It's a nice day outside."

"Is it? I haven't looked outside the window." Kagome said. Suddenly Kagome heard stomping. "Hold on there's a stampede outside my door."

"Hai." Sango said.

Kagome set the phone down to see what the noise was. As soon as she opened the door, Souta and Shippo knocked her down. "What are you two doing?" Kagome asked.

"Kagome can you take us to the beach?" They both said at the same time.

"Why would you want to go to the beach?" Kagome asked.

"Because it's nice out." Souta said. "I want to go swimming. Shippo hasn't gone to the beach before."

"I want to see what it's like." Shippo said.

"You can invite your friends." Souta said.

Kagome thought about it. "If you get off of me, then I'll think about it." She said. They both got off and she reached for the phone. "Ne Sango how would you like to go to the beach today?"

"That sounds great! What brought that idea up?" Sango asked.

"Souta and Shippo want to go." Kagome said.

"Can I bring Kohaku then? They can all play." Sango said.

"Sure, are you going to invite Miroku?" Kagome asked.

"I guess. Are you going to invite Inuyasha?"

"I guess. I have to buy a bathing suit though." Kagome said.

"Me too. Let's go together then." Sango said.

"Hai, I'll call Inuyasha and you can call Miroku. They'll probably want to come." Kagome said. "They can carry our bags."

Sango laughed. "I'll call you when I'm ready." Sango said. "If Miroku can't come then I'll still go."

"Hai, me too." Kagome said. "I'm going to get ready then."

"Bye." Sango said.

"Bye." Kagome said. She hung up the phone. "Go get your things. I'll get you a bathing suit while I'm at the mall." She said to Shippo.

"Arigato." They both said. They raced out of the room.

Kagome dialed Inuyasha's number. It was early and she was going to wake him up. After letting the phone ring a couple times someone answered. "What the hell do you want?" Asked a grumpy Inuyasha.

"Rise and shine, baka." Kagome said.

"What the hell are you calling me so early for?" He growled. She knew he slept in.

"Fine, I guess you don't want to come with me to the beach." Kagome said.

"What? I'll go." Inuyasha said. He got to see Kagome in a bathing suit. Even though he'd seen more of her before it was still a good sight.

Kagome laughed. "I'm going to get ready. I have to go to the mall to buy a suit." She said.

Kagome could hear noises in the background. "I'm on my way." Inuyasha said quickly and hung up the phone. Kagome laughed and hung up. She walked into the bathroom to take a shower. She wanted to get done before Inuyasha got there.

Kagome just got out of the shower. She walked into her room to change. She put on a blue sundress and put her hair up in a ponytail. Then she slipped on her white shoes. When she got done the phone rang. "Hello?" She said.

"Hey Kagome, I'm ready. Miroku is on his way to pick me up." Sango said.

"Inuyasha is on his way too. I guess we'll meet at the mall." Kagome said.

"Let's meet at the food court so we can eat before we shop." Sango said.

"Sounds great." Kagome said.

"I have to go. Miroku is here." Sango said. "Bye."

"Bye." Kagome said. She walked downstairs to tell her mom. "Morning mom."

"Morning Kagome." Her mom said. "Souta already told me about going to the beach. I'm packing a lunch for you and your friends."

"Arigato. I'm going to the mall to buy Shippo and I a bathing suit. Inuyasha's on his way to pick me up." Kagome said. There was a knock on the door. "Seems like he's here. Bye mom."

"The lunch will be packed by the time you get back. Bye." Her mom said.

Kagome answered the door. Inuyasha picked her up and kissed her. He put Kagome down. "You seem happy." Kagome said. They walked down to his car.

"Well, I'm in a good mood." Inuyasha said.

"Really?" Kagome said.

"Hai." Inuyasha said. They got in the car and drove to the mall. Inuyasha had a smile on his face the whole time.

When they got there they walked to the food court. Kagome spotted Sango and grabbed Inuyasha's hand. She dragged him over to where they were sitting. "Hey, you didn't tell me Miroku and Sango were coming." Inuyasha said when they got to the table.

"Sango, you didn't tell me that Inuyasha and Kagome were coming." Miroku said.

"Must've slipped my mind." Kagome said.

"You didn't ask." Sango said. "Kohaku is coming with us."

"So are Souta and Shippo." Kagome said.

"What?" Inuyasha said.

"What, you don't want to come now? It was Souta and Shippo's idea to go." Kagome said.

"Fine. Let's just get the shopping part over with." Inuyasha said.

"I want to eat first. That's why we met here." Kagome said. Inuyasha growled but sat down anyway. He hadn't eaten breakfast. As soon as Kagome said she wanted to go to the beach he dressed and left.

Miroku had done the same thing. They all ate their food and headed towards the swim shop. It took them an hour to get what they needed. They got bathing suits, suntan lotion, sun block, sun glasses, towels, beach umbrellas, and so on.

They paid for everything. "We'll meet you at the parking lot on the beach?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, we just have to go get Kohaku." Sango said.

"We have to go get Souta and Shippo." Kagome said. "Oh, and my mom made us lunch."

"Great!" Sango said. "Bye."

"Bye." Kagome said. She grabbed Inuyasha's free hand and dragged him to the car.

"Oi, why am I holding everything?" He asked.

"Because you're a gentleman." Kagome said. Inuyasha snorted. "Because if you don't I might get mad at you and then I'll have to call the whole beach thing off. Is that enough motivation for you?"

"Keh." Inuyasha said. He didn't want her to cancel. He didn't want her to get mad either. She'd ignore him for god knows how long.

They drove to Kagome's house to pick some things up. "Did you bring your bathing suit?" Kagome asked as they walked up the stairs.

"No I swim nude." Inuyasha said sarcastically.

"Really?" Kagome asked.

"No." Inuyasha said.

"I might've enjoyed that too." Kagome said.

"Really?" Inuyasha asked.

"No, I'm just messing with you." Kagome said.

"Damn you." Inuyasha said. He thought she was serious. "I'm wearing my shorts under my pants."

They walked into the house. "Can you grab the food from my mom? I have to change into my bathing suit." Kagome said.

"I don't get to see what it is?" Inuyasha asked.

"You can wait until we get to the beach." Kagome said. She grabbed the bag with her bathing suit and walked upstairs to her room.

Inuyasha walked into the kitchen. "Hello Ms. Higurashi." Inuyasha said.

"Hello Inuyasha." She said. "If you're here for the food, it's in that basket over there."

Inuyasha picked it up from the counter she pointed to. "Arigato." He said.

"Have fun." Ms. Higurashi said.

Inuyasha grabbed the bag and went into the living room. He had to wait for Kagome. He saw Souta and Shippo coming downstairs. "We're ready." They said.

"Now we just have to wait for Kagome." Inuyasha said.

After a couple of minutes Kagome walked down the stairs. "I'm ready." Kagome said. She was wearing the bathing suit under her dress.

"Let's go!" Souta and Shippo yelled.

They all walked down to the car and got in. They drove to the beach. Souta and Shippo were talking and laughing. They were both excited to go to the beach. They got to the beach and saw Sango and Miroku's car.

"Hey Kohaku." Souta said. "Let's go in the water."

"We have to find a place to sit first." Kagome said. "You guys aren't even in your swimming clothes. And you need to put sun block on first."

"Fine we'll go look for a place to sit." Souta said. Him, Shippo, and Kohaku ran up ahead of them.

"Little brothers are so annoying." Kagome and Sango said at the same time. They looked at each other and laughed.

"Can you guys get the stuff?" Sango asked.

"Yeah, we have to get the little boys ready." Kagome said. They followed their brothers.

"Why do we always get stuck with doing everything?" Inuyasha asked.

"Because beauty is our weakness." Miroku said.
