Chapter 31

Searching

Sesshomaru walked into Inuyasha's room. He almost tripped over the mess. Inuyasha had torn his room up in two minutes flat. "What's the matter?" he asked.

"Since when do you care?" Inuyasha growled.

"Since you started ruining my house." Sesshomaru said.

"Kagome's gone missing. I have a pretty good idea on who took her." Inuyasha said.

"I highly doubt destroying your room will get her back." Sesshomaru said.

"Keh." Inuyasha said.

"You seem pretty calm." Sesshomaru said.

"Why does everyone say that?" Inuyasha yelled.

"Maybe because it's true. By now you would have ripped up half the city." Sesshomaru said.

"Well, I haven't." Inuyasha said.

"I think mating with Kagome has calmed you down somewhat." Sesshomaru said.

"I just want her back. If anything were to happen to her I don't know what I'd do." Inuyasha said, his voice softening.

"I'm here to help if you need it." Sesshomaru said.

"Why are you being so helpful all of a sudden? Usually you don't give a damn about what I do." Inuyasha said, a bit confused.

"You're not the only one with a mate who's changed you." Sesshomaru said before leaving.

Inuyasha sat down on the floor thinking of a way to get Kagome back. He'd have to find out who took her, although he had a pretty good idea of who it was. He'd also have to find out where she was.

Kikyo knew about Kagome being in the bathroom. Maybe she knew more than she told him. He'd been too panicked to do anything other than yell. Finding Kikyo was the only thing he could do right now.

Inuyasha got up and picked up his phone. He'd call Miroku and Sango and have them meet him somewhere. They had to find Kikyo if they wanted to get any information. It seemed like she knew about Kagome's disappearance.

Kagome woke up not being able to see a thing. She was blindfolded. Her arms were tied behind her back and the bottom of her legs were bound. She tried to get out of the restrains but failed in doing so.

Where was she? All she remembered was being in the bathroom. Then it clicked. Miasma came through the bathroom vent. She had no idea as to who did it either. No one was around.

"Awake are you?" Someone said.

Kagome could hear footsteps coming towards her. She inched away afraid of what they might do. She recognized the voice but couldn't put her finger on who it was. "Where am I?" Kagome asked.

"You don't need to concern yourself with that."

"Who are you?" Kagome asked. She had scooted back so far she assumed she was back up against a wall. It had taken her a while to reach it because she was tied up.

"You already know who I am. I'm your mate."

"Inuyasha is my mate and you're not him." Kagome said.

"That worthless half breed isn't good enough for you."

"Oh, and because you kidnapped me, I guess that makes you think you are?" Kagome asked.

"I am."

"You think wrong. I love Inuyasha and nothing will change that." Kagome said.

"Not even his death?"

Kagome gasped. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm saying that once he's dead you're mine."

"You're the guy from the phone call I got the other day." Kagome said recognizing his voice. Then she recognized his aura. How could she have not noticed before? "Naraku."

"It took you a while to recognize me." Naraku said.

`I haven't been meditating like Kaede told me. That's probably why I couldn't tell right away.' Kagome thought.

"You'd think with you being a miko you'd notice." Naraku said.

Kagome humphed and turned her head even though it was pointless. Naraku walked closer to her and grabbed her cheek. "I'll kill that worthless hanyou." He said.

"You forget you're a hanyou too. You try to hide it, but I can see through it." Kagome said.

Naraku grew angry and slapped her. Kagome fell to the ground and whimpered in pain. "Don't say that again." Naraku said. He turned and walked away.

Kagome couldn't here his footsteps anymore. He was probably gone now. She moved around and sat up. It took a while but she did it. Her cheek stung a little. She'd probably have a mark from it later. Right now she needed to find a way out of wherever she was.

Miroku and Sango arrived at Inuyasha's house. They left as soon as Inuyasha called them. They thought it was a good idea to find Kikyo. It seemed like she was distracting them with her pointless babbling.

"So where should we go first?" Sango asked.

"Kikyo could be anywhere." Miroku said.

"We'll go to her house first." Inuyasha said.

"Do you even know where she lives?" Sango asked.

"No, but Sesshomaru could find out." Inuyasha said.

"Is he really going to help us?" Miroku asked.

"I have a way to get him to help if he won't." Inuyasha said. "Besides, he said he'd help if I needed it."

"That doesn't sound like Sesshomaru." Sango said.

"It sounds more like he's got a girl making him do it." Miroku said.

"Miroku's right." Inuyasha said.

"So it's Rin." Sango said. "I should've known."

They all walked downstairs and stood in front of the TV. Sesshomaru and Rin were sitting on the couch watching a movie. "Move." Sesshomaru said.

"We need your help." Inuyasha said.

"I'm watching a movie." Sesshomaru said.

"Sessh!" Rin said. She hit him in the chest. "Help him."

Sesshomaru sighed and got up. "What do you need?"

"We need to find out where Kikyo lives." Inuyasha said.

"She lives on Sakura Street, the blue house on the left side." Sesshomaru said.

"How do you know that already?" Inuyasha asked.

"I've met her father. He wanted me to go into business with him because our name is so well known." Sesshomaru said.

"Oh." Inuyasha said.

All three of them left. Miroku and Sango got into Miroku's car and Inuyasha got on his motorcycle. Miroku followed Inuyasha, which was kind of hard considering he was cutting corners and speeding.

They eventually made it to Kikyo's house. A lot of drivers were pissed off at almost being hit. They were lucky enough to have made it alive. Inuyasha was weaving through cars and driving on the sidewalk.

Miroku and Sango were surprised he even parked his bike. They thought he'd jump off or something. "Inuyasha, slow down!" Miroku yelled.

"We don't have time to slow down. The longer we take to find Kagome, the more danger she's in." Inuyasha said.

They made it to Kikyo's door and they knocked. "Can I help you?" A lady asked.

"We're looking for Kikyo." Sango said. Inuyasha looked like he was about ready to kill.

"She's not home right now." The lady said. "She's out with her boyfriend."

"Her boyfriend?" Sango asked.

"Hai, I think his name is Inuyasha." The lady said.

"WHAT?" Inuyasha yelled. Miroku grabbed him and dragged him to his car.

"Gomen. That was Inuyasha. They aren't going out." Sango said. "Do you know where she might be?"

"Well if she lied about her boyfriend then she probably lied about where she was." The lady said. "I'll have a talk with her later. Try the mall. Her nose was busted up pretty badly and the only thing she said that would help her was shopping."

"Arigato." Sango said. The lady shut the door and Sango went over to where Miroku was holding Inuyasha down.

"That bitch. She's lying." Inuyasha yelled.

"We know she's lying, Inuyasha." Sango said. "The lady didn't know where she was. She said try the mall."

"Let's go then." Miroku said. He let Inuyasha go.

Inuyasha jumped onto his bike and started it. "What the hell are you waiting for? Get in your damn car!" Inuyasha yelled.

Miroku and Sango hurried in the car and started the engine. Once again they started the weaving through cars and praying for their lives routine. Sango held onto her seat. They were going fifty in a twenty-mile zone.

They found a parking spot and headed inside the mall. Inuyasha was hoping she was here. He wanted to find Kagome and fast.
