CHAPTER 2

I Do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters. They are the
property of Rumiko Takahashi. Nor do I own this story. This is just my idea of what
the story would be like Inuyasha style. The original story is by Linda Winstead.
With that in mind I just borrow them for my sick, twisted pleasure.
Four months ago I didn't know how to use a computer. A friend of mine said that I just needed to
get over the "intimidation factor". In other words I was afraid that I would foul something up if
I tried to use the computer. He said "that's what I'm here for", " If you screw it up, I'll just
straighten it out".


Sleeping still. Kagome paced at the foot of the bed. As far as she could tell Inuyasha hadn't moved
since she'd helped him into the bed the night before, and it was nearly midday. What if he died?
what if she had done something wrong? No he'll be alright. So this is Inuyasha? The man sango had spoken
so fondly of. The man everyone else in the village apparently hated. Why because he's hanyou? That
doesn't make any sense to her. The villagers told her Inuyasha was mean and dangerous. Sleeping he looked
perfectly safe and tame. He was perhaps the hadsomest man she had ever seen, his skin was bronzed
from the sun and his hair was thick and the most beatuiful silver. Even after making sure his wound
was no longer bleeding, Kagome continued to watch him. She had never seen a man bare chested before,
and she was certain they didnt all look like him. Kagome was fascinated by the corded muscles in his shoulders
and arms, and his smooth chest that rose and fell with every breath. She reached over to brush the hair out
of his face, her finger had barely touched his face when he came awake.

Grasping her wrist in a sudden movement that shocked her, then his eyes opened. Deep amber eyes
that caused her to freeze. She was so scared she could hardly breathe, much less move.
Who are you? He rasped out. Let me go, Kagome demanded weakly. Answer me first. Kagome found herself
in an awkward position, half leaning, half standing. Kagome Marie Higarashi. Now, can you please release
me? Inuyasha loosened his hold a little but continued to hold her. What are you doing here? Well
I came to see Sango and Miroku but they're not here, so I have to wait 'till they return.
They wont be back for another two months or more. Two months! Are you sure? Kagome felt distressed.
Well maybe I can get started without Sango. Start what? Thats none of your business Mr. Takahashi.
He closed his eyes again. Last night you called me Yasha. Last night was an emergency. I'm going
to make you some tea. I dont want any. Well you'll drink it, or I'll pour it down your throat
Mr Takahashi, Kagome warned. He opened his eyes again, "Yes ma'am", he agreed meekly. Thank
you for helping me, you did a good job. Thank you, my father is a doctor. So you helped your father
in his work?

Oh good heavens no, my mother would never have allowed that. But he did talk about his work alot and
I usually remember what I hear. She leaned over him and felt his head, no fever thats good.
I know who you are he said triumphantly. Of course you do, I just told you. You're Kagsi", he fininshed for her.
Oh I hate that nickname. Sango calls me that. Since your such a good friend of Sango's you can call me Kagome,
but never again call me Kagsi. She gave him her best glare, and Inuyasha was glaring right back at her, with his
eyes as hard and cold as any she had ever seen, but there was also a sadness in them as well.Would you like some
sugar in your tea Mr. Takahashi? Oh never mind, you need the sugar to get your energy back. She turned and left
before he could answer.

Inuyasha finished his tea and had almost immediately fallen asleep. Every few minutes she looked in on him.
why did he make her feel this way? Why did she feel like she had to be near him? This was not part of her plan.
Kagome heard a horse approaching, she went to the window and saw a man riding towards the cabin.
kagome smoothed her skirt and walked out the door, the man jumped from the horse you
must be miss higarashi? mrs maxwells cousin he said. yes kagome stepped forward. I hate
to bother you but suicotsu stopped by yesturday afternoon and let me know you were staying here
my name is bankotsu he suggested I might look in on you now and again but im afraid thats
not why i'm here I got me a little problem."

Kagome released a breath she had been holding. Bankotsu not only looked like he was rolling in dirt
he smelled like he hadn't had a bath since springtime. A problem ? Is there anything I can do?
I dont suppose you've seen a half breed son of a....fella here abouts? do you by chance mean
Inuyasha takahashi?...why yes ma'am his horse showed up at the stables last night with blood all over the saddle
I reckon he's lyin' dead somewhere,

Inuyasha is here. His horse came back last night and your only just now looking for him? He was shot last night
and he is now sleeping. If you would like to have a doctor look at him. Bankotsu took a step back, a doctor
for Inuyasha? Hell he would have nothing to do with a doctor. I'll just take him back to the bunk house
and we'll keep an eye on him. (yeah untill he was dead) I'm not letting you take him anywhere. I think he should stay
here with me. Ma'am? I cant let you do that. It aint right. My father is a doctor. I have helped him for years,
I know what I am doing and I know how to care for a gun shot wound. Im sure you can ma'am, but I reckon I should...
Im very close to loosing my temper right now," the last time I turned someone over to someone else the man died.
HE STAYS HERE!!!

Yes ma'am I understand, I do have my hands full with finishing the house and running the ranch. I reckon if
you insist I'll leave Inuyasha with you. Thank you, you are soooo kind, he'll be just fine here.
Bankotsu backed away from her, her chance to get rid of Inuyasha had come and gone should she have turned him over to Bankotsu?
Her instincts said no. She didnt trust this man. Inuyasha was her responsibilty and no one would watch over him like she would.


Kagome bent over the stove in earnest, smelling the stew to make sure it smelled edible. Her first meal, or at least
the first she had prepared alone. Her mother had never let her or her sister near the kitchen. Fortunately Songo
had a cook book in her pantry and she followed the instructions to the letter and her stew smelled good.
Inuyasha hadn't made a sound, but Kagome seemed to sense that he was watching her. What are you doing out of bed? You
need several more days in bed Mr Takahashi. "Inuyasha", My name is Inuyasha." What are you doing up?".
I smelled your cooking and it made me hungry Inuyasha said not moving an inch, I hope your a better cook then Sango.
I dont know this is my first meal. I'm sorry to hear that. Back to bed with you Mr Takahashi....Inuyasha.

Are you going to be a difficult patient Mr. Takahashi? Probably kagsi." I TOLD YOU not to call me that.
Well, I TOLD YOU not to call me Mr Takahashi. Alright yasha. I can handle that, kagome conceded. Lowering him onto the bed,
she had been trying to not look at his bare chest. It was disconcerting and his face was even worse."
She hadnt come all this way to become Infatuated with a pretty face. We're going to have to get you a change of clothes.
Ive got clean clouthes in the bunk house. the old bunk house out back. Inuyasha laid his head back and closed his eyes,
and let out a long breath. The long building by the barn? Inuyasha cracked an eye open. Yes, no one uses it anymore. There's
a new one close to the big house. Kagome put her hand on his forhead, no fever that is a good sign I'll bring you some clean clothes,
and if the stew turns out to be good I'll bring you that as well. What are you doing here? I told you I'm here to see Sango.

Did you run away kagome? What if I did? You should be grateful that I ran away when I did or you'd be dead.
I guess thats true, but i wonder why a little girl with soft white skin who never had to dirty her hands in the kitchen would run away
from home? Not that it is any of your business but my father was about to force me to marry a man I detest. Force you? i cant imagine.
Neither could I. It was so unlike daddy, hes not my type. Hojo is to thin and boring, he cant even dance. Daddy said i needed Disipline.
Noooo. Yes. How barbaric to force you to marry a man who is to thin and can't dance. How old is this man?

I Dont know in his twentys I guess, Kagome looked up to see a wry smile on his face and realized Inuyasha was
teasing her. Inuyasha closed his eyes. You're a despicable cad. Ive been called worse. When he opend his eyes he
realized he'd spoken to an empty room. Why did that thought bother him? Kagome left behind a trace
of her scent, a scent of crushed flowers and springtime. What on earth had driven him to get out of bed and
search for her. It hadn't been the food that lured him. It had been his own damn curiosity. He heard
her in the kitchen and he wanted, no needed, another look at her. He wanted to know if she was really as beautiful
as he remembered. And he also wanted to know if she would tell him Bankotsu had stopped by that afternoon and that she had
sent him away. Why had she done that? And what does she want from him? He was disgusted with himself that he
liked the feel of her hands on his forhead,that he liked the way the sun came through the window and lit her hair.
She was just another spoiled little rich girl who judges people by appearance and broke mens hearts for her own
amusement. But she smelled like crushed flowers. Was he falling for her? Who was he kidding? No one could love a hanyou.
He learned that a long time ago. He was still thinking about her scent when she reappeared in the doorway and
tossed a clean pair of pants and a white shirt on the bed. If your capable of walking to the kitchen, you're
capable of dressing yourself. Before he could think of a clever reply she was gone again leaving only her scent behind.

AN: It will be at least two weeks for the next chapter, I need time for my beta to check for spelling errors
and other mistakes. I'd Like To also to Thank youkaineko for the advice and I will continue this story. this
is the first time i've done a fanfiction most of what I have done were for my daughter which she would turn into
