Kagome cried into Sesshomaru's chest as she and he stood next to the well. Ina was close to tears as she heard Sesshomaru murmur, “Go back to your time, Kagome. I will come for you there. I promise you. Destroy the well and take the Shikon Jewel, too.”

“But…What will you do?”

“I will stay here with Ina, Jaken, and Rin.”

 

Kagome nodded and looked where Ina was. They nodded to each other a short farewell and Sesshomaru sealed his promise with a flaming-yet sudden-kiss. Kagome sat on the edge of the well and slipped in, taking one last look at Sesshomaru peering over the edge of the well.

 

Kagome destroyed the well in her time. She cried, knowing that Sesshomaru had probably forgotten his promise by her time.
