Chapter 7

*~It was only one hour ago
It was all so different then
Nothing yet has really sunk in
Looks like it always did
This flesh and bone
is just the way that we are tied in
But there’s no one home ~*
The next fews days had been hard for Kagome. She had stayed home from school for the week to get things organized and settled. She and Inuyasha had gone back to her house to pack things up and put them in storage, so that no one would break into the house and steal their things, or should I say HER things. They had everything done and put away within three days, she took most of her thingsfrom her room, to Inuyasha's town home, decorating the her new room, making it look like her old one.
The funeral was also held that week. Every one she new showed up. Her friends from school showed up, even some teacher, who had personally known the Higurashi family. Her family from Japan had flown out just for the funeral, and offered to take Kagome back with them, but she refused them, she wanted to be closer to her familys grave and didn't want to leave the shrine. She most of all didn't want to have to be pulled out of school, she was doing so good in it, if she left she would lose all her credits, her friends, the house, and most of all.....Inuyasha, and she didn't want that.

Over the past couple of months, they had become closer, they had such a great thing going on, and she didn't want to ruin that. She had already lost her family, the only ones who showed her so much love and respect, and encouraged her into everything she did,and she didn't want to lose possibly the love of her life, the one she knew she would grow to love and stay with for the rest of her life.
At the funeral, Kagome was asked to give a speech. While up at the podium, everyone sat and stared in amazment as Kagome told everyone these great things about her mother, brother, and beloved grandfather. Everyone cried harder during the middle of the speech causing Kagome to break into more sobs and calapsed to her knees buring her face into her hands. Seeing this, Inuyasha ran up and placed his arms around Kagomes shoulders, whispering calm words to her, while guiding her away from the podium.

is the empty, empty page
While the final rattle rocks
it’s empty, empty cage
and I can’t handle this~*
At the end, when her mother, brother, and grandfather had been buried, everyone began to leave, but not before they said their condolences to Kagome and hope that she would recover soon. Kagome shook their hands and gave her thank yous. While everyone was still getting into their cars, Kagome sat in one of the chairs talking to her best friend Rin. Inuyasha was standing about 50 yrds talking to Sesshomaru, who had shown up to give his condolences to Kagome and to talk to Inuyasha about how everything was working out at his place.
"Kagome, you know that if you need anything, anything at all, that I'm right here for ya, right?"
Kagome had her head hung low, with some tear streaks runnign down her face, and nodded. "I know" she said a little above a whisper. Rin pulled her into a tight and firm hug, resting Kagomes head on her shoulder." Oh Kags, i'm so sorry, I can't begin to imagine what your going through, I just wish you wouldn't be suffering right now" this only made Kagome cry harder, and Rin began to panic "oh i'm soory hon, I didn't mean to make you cry harder, everything will get better soon, I promise" she whispered softly.

Kagome let go of her and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, and tried to put a fake smile on." I know, but I hope I don't have to wait to long" " you won't I promise" rin said with a smile.
Kagome looked to her side just in time to see Inuyasha and Sesshomaru walking towards them. Rin looked up just in time too, to see her biology teacher walking toward them with a stunningly handsome man to his left 'wow' Rin thought to herself. "H-Hey Kagome?" Kagome looked up at her "yeah?" "W-Who is that man walking with Mr.Takahashi?" Kagome looked to see who she was talking about, then realized it was Sesshomaru. "oh, thats Sesshomaru Takahashi, he's the social worker and Mr.Takahashi's brother." she felt kinda weird calming him by his last name, but she didn't wanted to give herself away to Rin that there might be something between them, Rin still doesn't know about her and Inuyasha's relationship."His brother?" she asked kinda shocked. "umm hmmm" Kagome nodded. Rin looked back his way with a smirk on his face "He's kinda cute" she said with a little husk in her voice. Kagome couldn't help but laugh a little at this.
Sesshomaru and Inuyasha were heading back toward Kagome when he noticed the hazelnut hair colored girl sitting next to her. When she looked up at him he locked eyes with her. ' she has such beatiful eyes, and a great form, I wonder.....wait a minute, what am I thinking? she's obviously way to young for me' .........' but still, a guy can dream' he thought to himself with a little smirk.
When they reached the girls they noticed that Rin had quickly gotten up saying that she had to get home because it was getting late. She walked over to her car, but before she stole a quick glance at that tall, dark, handsome man.

Inuyasha came up and stood right in front of Kagome. " You ready?" he asked softly. she gave a nod as her reply. They said their good byes to Sesshomaru and to everyone else, and headed toward the car. Inuyasha wrapped his arm around her waist and started to whisper calms words to her.
Sesshomaru saw this, and the way that Inuyasha acted toward Kagome, got him suspicious. It was salmost like they were keeping something from everyone. Well whatever it was, he was gonna find out, and thatwas for sure.
