chapter 1

Kagome Higurashi was a seventeen year old girl in her junior year of high school. Everything was going great for her , she had friends, good grades, and a loving family. She lived in a small house right outside of Denver, Colorado with her mother. brother, and grandfather. It was her first day back to school from winter break. It was also her first day of the new semester which meant she'll have new classes. She was excited to see her friends again. She sat out front of the school waiting for her friends.
"Hey Kagome" Eri yelled
"Hey" she called back
"how was your break?"
"Good, and yours?"
"The bahamas were great."
"I bet"
" Hey who do you have first hour?"
" Biology with Mr.Takahashi."
"Oh is he the new biology teacher?"
"yepp"
just then the bell rang
"well tell me what he looks like."
"okay, i'll see ya"
"okay bye"
"bye"
Kagome walked to her first class to see that six other students beat her there. She found a seat on the far right side of the class room. When she looked at the teachers desk, she saw the most amazing creature staring right back at her. He had long jet black hair tied into a low ponytail, with violet colored eyes, and a strong masculine form. ' he's georgeous' she thought.
Inuyasha could hardly blink when he saw her, she had long raven black hair, with chocolate colored eyes, and a thin curvey form. 'she's beautiful'
he thought.
They were both so stunned, that at the same time they said
"WOW".
Kagome just sat staring at the him for what seemed like an eternity. He was wearing a white long sleeved botton down shirt that the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, he also had on black slacks, and a grey tie. He looked soo amazing. ' I wonder what he's like' she thought.
Inuyasha started at Kagome in amazement, she was beautiful beyond words, she was wearing her usual school uniform, with a green skirt and scarf. The light shing from the window on to her made her look so elegant. 'Wow' he thought. 'She's georgeous'.
He was broken from his train of thought when the school bell rang indicating the start of class.
" Hello class, my name is Mr. Takahashi, and im your new biology teacher. For the rest of the year we will have five major tests, three lab assignments, and four quizes. Our first lesson will be on the plant cell. We will study that for about two weeks and then start on the animal cell." he said this looking around at the class room, his eyes fell on Kagome most of the time.
Kagome, noticing this thought to her self 'He keeps looking at me the most. I wonder if he likes me or something. NO.... I can't think like that he's my teacher, of course he wouldn't like his students, especially me' she thought sadly ' But then again, he might'
" I would like to get to know your names, so when I call your name from my list, say here and tell me something you know about the plant cell, okay?" the class nodded " alright, lets see " he looked around the classroom pretending to look for someone, but he already picked someone out. He looked at Kagome and pointed to her. "you" he said
"Me?" she asked pointing to herself
"yes, you whats your name?"
" Um...Kagome"
'Kagome, what a beautiful name' he thought to himself
" What do you know about the plant cell?"
"Um..."
" Well, what is the nucleus?"
"It's the control center of the cell, contains DNA, and makes protein."
"Good, very good"
He pointed to another student asking their name and a different question, while pretending to hear their answer, he kept looking back at Kagome who was looking out the window. When he was done with role call, he handed the class their first assignment.
" OKay settle down,here is your first assignment, the answers will be in your biology books on pages 120-132, you may work with someone, you have the rest of the class hour to work on this, this will be due tomarrow."
He sat at his desk doing some work while the class did their, they were mostly just talking and messing around, but he didn't care, his mind kept drifting back to that young girl who sat only a few feet away from him. ' Gods i can't stop thinking about her, and I just met her. I wonder if she has a boyfriend or how old she is. WAIT... I can't be thinking this, she's my student and I'm her teacher, it's forbidden. I bet she probably doesn't even like me that way' he thought he looked up at her to see that she had her face buried in the book lookin gfor answers, when she looked up to see him, she noticed he was looking right at her, she quickley looked back down with a dark blush on her face. He noticed it right away 'Then again' he thought
At the end of the kagome ended up with four homework assignments and two tests coming up to study for. She sat out front of the school waiting for her ride. Everyone had already left, except for a few of the teachers who still had work to do. She looked at her watch to notice that it was 3:45, school let out at 3:00. " Mom must be runnig late again" she said. 'I can't believe this is happening, I'm gonna have to start walking.' she thought 'If I leave know I can make home by 4:30' she let out a heavy sigh, she really didn't fell like walking home, she had to much to carry.
At 3:45 Inuyasha packed up his briefcase, grabbed his jacket and headed for the door. He turned the lights off and locked his door, he turned to the where the double glass doors were that led out front of the school. When he got out side he noticed that there was only one person out there, but he couldn't tell who it was, they had their back turned toward him. 'Why would anyone still be here this late ' he thought. He started to walk toward the person.
Kagome started to get frustrated, it was the first time her mom had been late picking her up. She turned around to back into the school to use the payphone, but accidently walked into someone. "I'm so sorry I didn't see you there and I.." she stopped when she looked up to see who it was that she ran into. Her eyes widened in surprise when she noticed who it was
" Mr.Takahashi" she said, her heart rate sped up
" Oh, hello Kagome. Why are you still here so late?"
" Um.. I was waiting for my mom and she never showed up."
"Well do you need a ride home?"
"I-I was just gonna start walking so uh..."
"Non-sense i'll give you a ride home" 'please say yes' he thought
"that won't be necessary, i'll feel like a burden."
"You won't be a burden, but i'll feel bad if I left a poor defensless girl to walk home by herself."
'Come on Kagome, get a hold of yourself, you know you want to' she thought
" Well, um,,"
'say yes'
"okay"
"Great" he said ' How come I feel so weird around her?'
They sat in his two door, black, 1967 camaroe. He headed up Federal till he got to 88th.
"Where do I turn when I get to 84th?" he asked
" Just turn left"
"okay"
they sat silent for a few moments, until she broke the silence
" So how long have you lived in Colorado?"
" Just since October. I'm originally from New York"
" So you haven't been a teacher here the whoel year?"
" No, I was a sub for awhile, until the school called me and told me that they had to fire one of their biology teachers for harassing the principle, so they asked me to start for the new semester."
"Wow, lucky you."
"yeah, I was happy I got it because I was starting to get short on money, and i was having a hard time paying my rent."
"Where do you live?" she asked curious
" On 92nd, in those apartments right behind media play."
"okay, I know where those are at."
When he got to 88th he made a left and when straight down.
" It's the fifth house on the right, the oriental style one."
" Thats nice."
"yea it is. Well thank you soo much for the ride."
"It was no problem, i'll see you tomarrow."
"okay, bye"
"bye"
He sat there till he saw her safely in her house, after she shut the door, he turned his engine on and headed home. " what a day" he said
When Kagome got in, she leaned up against the door and let out a heavy sigh. Her heart was pounding like crazy ' Why do I feel like this?' she thought. She couldn't wait til tomarrow, to see him again. "what a day" she said.
