InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Children of the Sengoku-Jidai ❯ Meeting the family and hearing the story ( Chapter 1 )
"Ha Ha!!!! You can't catch me!!!!"
The little girl yelled back at her parents as she ran through the house butt naked. She had long white hair with black dog-ears and a kind of odd looking black dog-like tail. Her eyes were often hidden by her long white bangs, so no one saw what her eye color really was.
Her father fumed while her mother was more worried that she would run into something considering how she had her bangs covering her eyes and on top of that bad eye site.
"GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE…" Her father yelled as he ran after his daughter.
"INUYASHA!!!!!" The girl's mother yelled at the girl's father.
"Aiya's going to break something and we're going to have to pay for it!!!" Inuyasha yelled back at his wife.
"AKIKO!!!!! ANEKO!!!!! HELP US CATCH AIYA!!!!!" Kagome called, her voice ringing throughout the house.
Meanwhile the little girl ran throughout the house laughing like crazy. She took a second to look back at her father who was practically turning purple with rage; this only increased her laughter further. Unfortunately for her, her fun was stopped as she ran directly into someone's legs. She fell on the floor from the force and looked up to see whom she ran into. Her eyes were met with a pair of pure gold eyes. The eyes belonged to her older sister Aneko. Aneko had long black hair with naturally white highlights that reached down to the middle of her back. The top of her head was adorned with pure white dog-ears similar to both her father's and her sister's.
"Well, this has got to be the best Kodak moment in history!" she said pulling out her camera and took a picture of her sister naked, on the floor, and tears welled up in her eyes. Aneko had a HUGE grin on her face. `Ah, this is going to be GREAT for blackmail in a couple of years.'
"Ahch!!! You are SO mean!!!!!!" Akiko yelled, rushing over to her younger sister. Akiko was Aneko's twin and exact opposite of her too. She had long white hair with naturally black highlights that also reached down to her back. She also had to black dog-ears adorning her head. Her eyes were the only feature that was similar to her sister's, pure gold. At first look you would think they were the reason someone thought of the idea for the expression Yin and Yang. Even their personalities were completely opposite. Akiko was the most kind-hearted person you would ever meet, much like her mother, and Aneko was completely obnoxious and the most self-conceited person you would ever meet, much like her father. Aside from all their differences though every one would agree that they make a great team.
"It's her own fault that she was running through the house with those bad eyes of hers. Stupid little dweeb!" Aneko said scowling.
"Aneko!! Don't call your sister a dweeb!!! You know she's very sensitive!" Kagome scolded from down the hall. Kagome, like the rest of her family, was a hanyou and therefore had incredibly sensitive hearing because of her dog-ears. Kagome was more like Aneko in looks but more like Akiko in personality.
As soon as that was said Aiya's teary eyes turned to water and she started to wail causing the whole family to cover their ears.
"See!! Look what you did!!!" Inuyasha yelled over his youngest daughter's wails.
"It's not my fault she's a crybaby!" Aneko yelled. This statement only caused Aiya to cry louder.
"Aneko!!"
"Fine! I'll make her stop!!!" Aneko yelled. She walked over to the screaming girl, took her fingers, and closed Aiya's mouth forcefully. Aiya's cries dimmed but didn't stop.
"If you don't stop screaming you won't get any ramen today... at all. Okay?" Aneko warned Aiya. Aiya gasped at the thought of not having any ramen all day and quickly nodded her head in response.
Aneko let go of her lips cautiously and when she saw that Aiya wasn't going to cry again she backed away. "Silence. You've got to love it."
"God damn it, Aneko! I'm going to be deaf for weeks!" Inuyasha scolded at Aneko.
"Feh!" was Aneko's response before stomping off to her room.
"Aneko!! Wait up!!!" Akiko called, running after her twin.
Inuyasha smirked as he watched his two oldest daughters walk down the hall. `I swear they prove the fact that opposites attract. They, by far, have the oddest relationship I've ever seen.' He thought picking up his youngest daughter and taking her into the bathroom to get a bath.
"Inuyasha! We've got to hurry! Shippo's going to be home soon and I want to make his first visit to us in 300 years memorable!" Kagome called through the door trying to make her voice rise above the sound of the running water so that her husband could hear her.
"Okay, Okay! Hold your horses! I'll be done in a minute!" Inuyasha responded.
Kagome smiled and went down stairs to start making lunch for Shippo when he comes. Shippo has been part of the family for 465 years and has been visiting every so often because of his mate, Kilala. Kilala and Shippo have been friends for a good 500 or so years and have been mates for about 400 years. Akiko and Aneko were only 300 years old so they've never officially met before and Aiya was only 78 years old so she never met neither Kilala nor Shippo.
After getting bathed and changed Aiya came sliding down the banister happily. She reached the bottom of the banister and flipped off the end and did a mid air summersault and stuck her landing.
"I'd give it a 9.5." Kagome said while cooking some ramen for Inuyasha and Aiya. Akiko and Aneko liked ramen but not as much as those two.
"Oh come on! That was so a 10!!!" Aiya argued her lips pulled into a pout.
"Fine a 10." Kagome said, inwardly rolling her eyes at her daughter's childish attitude.
Just then the whole house echoed with the sound of the doorbell. The echoing sound stopped and was replaced with a loud rumbling greatly resembling a stampede. Down the stairs came Akiko, Aneko and Inuyasha, all of them pushing each other to gain the lead. As soon as they reached the bottom all of them scrambled for the door.
They were all obviously excited to see Shippo or in Akiko and Aneko's case they were very excited to reintroduce themselves to Shippo.
Inuyasha pushed his two daughters out of the way earning a yell from Kagome, who was still cooking in the next room, and he opened the door. His eyes were met with a very tall man around 6'5" tall. The man had big green eyes like nervous radar and fire red hair tied up into a high ponytail and messy bangs reaching to his brow. He had a moderately muscular physique but you couldn't really tell with the loose tee shirt he was wearing. He had many youkai features, like his claws, his fangs, and his tail that was currently wrapped around his waist like a belt. The man looked to be no more than 25.
"Hey dad!" Shippo said flinging his arms around Inuyasha. Inuyasha was practically choking under the man's grip.
"H-hay S-ship-po." Inuyasha choked out. "Uh S-shi-pp-o. C-can y-ou le-t g-o of m-my ne-ck?" Inuyasha asked, his eyes practically popping out of his head.
"Oh. Sorry." Shippo said letting go of his adoptive father.
Inuyasha inhaled deeply regaining the ability to use his lungs. (AN: I have absolutely NO grammar skills… Nor spelling skills.) "Any tighter and I would have choked to death." Inuyasha mumbled.
"Sorry." Shippo repeated a sheepish smile appeared on his face.
Akiko and Aneko walked out from behind their father. Akiko put on her sweetest smile and Aneko pretended to care less. That pose was their classic Yin Yang pose. One on one side and the other on the opposite side with their poses completely contradicting one another. Shippo was a little surprised to see them so big the last time he saw the dynamic duo was when they were in diapers.
"Wow. You got big." Shippo complimented.
Aneko smirked while Akiko smiled sweetly.
"Thank you." They both said in unison.
Aiya came up from behind her sisters. She immediately blushed as Shippo smiled at her. She dashed behind her sisters to hide herself from the unfamiliar man.
Shippo kneeled down so he was at Aiya's height. She peeked from around her sisters (who were just watching the whole scene) and immediately jumped back when she saw how close he was. (AN: She's shy, just to tell all of you perverts out there.)
"Hi. I'm Shippo and you must be Aiya. I heard a lot about you from Moms e-mails, except I never expected you to be so pretty." Shippo said to the shy young girl, who was now completely red. He saw this and smiled.
"T-t-thank y-you." Aiya stuttered out.
Shippo stood up so that he was at his regular height. Akiko scratched the back of her head with a sweat drop coming down her fore head.
"She's going to have to take some time to get used to you." Akiko said. (AN: Inuyasha has gone to get Kagome and they are arguing in the background.)
"I can see that." Shippo said glancing Aiya. She blushed again and hid herself.
"Let me see my Shippo!" Kagome said with a motherly tone. Akiko, Aneko and Aiya all jumped out of their mother's way as she flung her arms around her adoptive son in a huge bear hug.
"Nice to see you too ma." Shippo said hugging her back.
Kagome finally pulled out of the embrace and took a step back to give Shippo some space.
"Oh where are my manners! Please come inside!" Kagome said enthusiastically, she stepped aside to let him in but Shippo shook his head.
"Sorry ma but I don't have the time. On the way here I discovered something… disturbing" Shippo said looking down at his feet.
"Shippo. What happened?" Kagome said trying not to jump to conclusions.
Shippo looked up and stared her straight in the eye. Everyone was looking from Shippo to Kagome, waiting to see what would happen next. (All of this is still happening in the doorway just to tell you)
"It's Naraku." Shippo finally answered after about 2-3 minutes of silence.
"He's dead." Kagome said in denial.
Shippo looked at his feet again. "No… he's not."
Kagome gasped and nearly fainted.
"Mom, who's Naraku?" Akiko asked.
"He's the biggest mother fucker on the face of the earth." Inuyasha said, his eyes beginning to bleed to red. Aiya gasped at her father.
"Uh Oh! Daddy said a bad word!" Aiya said pointing an accusing finger at her father.
"What do you mean by that dad?" Aneko asked giving him a side-glance.
"Here, let us tell you the story. Shippo come in, it'll only take a second then we can discuss what to do about this." Kagome said calmly.
Shippo and the others sighed and came inside, went into the living room and sat on the couches. The living room was probably the nicest room in the house besides Inuyasha and Kagome's room. It was painted a creamy white with gold frames lining the floor and ceiling. The couches were pure white leather couches surrounding a glass table with gold lining the tabletop. Under the table was a white fur rug with flakes of gold hidden in random places in the rug. And as a final touch a gold and white painted fireplace that added a homey touch to the room.
Shippo looked around the room and smiled as he remembered how long ago his last visit was and how much he missed being in this house with his adoptive family. Then he remembered the reason he was there and got serious.
"Okay now, where to begin." Kagome said tapping her chin. "Oh well, I guess I should start with the well." Kagome said. "One day I was heading off to school…"
"You went to school!!!" Akiko, Aneko and Aiya shouted in surprise. The three girls weren't allowed to go to school because of their ears, tails, fangs, eyes and claws. It would be too odd.
"Well, I never told you this but I used to be human." Kagome said smiling. All her daughter's eyes practically popped out of their sockets.
"So anyway…" Kagome said excusing the subject with the wave of her hand. "I was going to school when my little brother Souta called me. He said that my cat Bouyo went down into the old well house. So I went down to fetch the cat since Souta was too scared to. I went down there and I took a moment to look at the old well and just then I heard a rattling sound coming from the well and a big centipede youkai grabbed me and pulled me down the well. I screamed with all the breath I had and I heard her mumbling something about the jewel of four souls or better known as the shikon jewel. And so she was pulling me down and I struggled to get out of her grasp and eventually her arm ripped off and she dropped me and I dropped on the ground. I climbed out of the well and I was met with not my old well house but with a clearing in the middle of forest that I haven't even seen before."
"Okay this is gonna take too long. Summarize the rest." Inuyasha said.
Kagome gave him a glare but shook it off and continued.
"So I looked around, saw a big tree that I saw all the time in front of my house. I ran to it thinking that I could find my house from there. But when I got there I saw the most beautiful person in the world." Kagome stopped and kissed Inuyasha lightly on the lips and they both smiled as they saw that their daughters were hiding behind the couch in disgust.
"Okay, okay! No more mushy stuff." Kagome said chuckling. The three girls came out from behind the couch and sat back down.
"I was caught next to your father by the villagers and I was tied up and taken to their village. The priestess Kaede confused me with her sister Kikyo. Kikyo was the first love of your father. Naraku had tricked them into thinking they betrayed each other, and as a result Kikyo pinned your father to the god tree. Though at the time I did not know this at the time so all I knew was that Kikyo pinned him to the tree. I was sitting there with Kaede in her hut discussing the whole thing and a dead horse was thrown through the roof. At first I was disgusted, then I saw who threw the body and I was frightened. The centipede demon had come back for the jewel. I kept yelling at her that I didn't have the jewel but she said that she felt it's power and I ran back into the forest. I ran and ran and eventually ran to the god tree and saw that the once sealed to an eternal sleep Inuyasha was still pinned to the tree but his eyes were wide open and filled with anger. Like Kaede, he confused me with Kikyo and told me to finish off the centipede demon like I did him. I told him I wasn't Kikyo and that I was Kagome. Just then the centipede demon came out from the bushes and ripped open my side and out came the jewel she was so desperate to have. She ate it and became more powerful. Inuyasha offered to kill the demon for me if I unsealed him. So I pulled out the arrow that sealed him to the tree. He killed the demon and I got the jewel. Just when I thought it was over Inuyasha attacked me. I dodged but got a cut on my arm in the process. He attempted to attack again but Kaede threw a rosary around his neck and ordered me to say a subduing spell. I yelled sit and he fell to the ground. Skipping to the more important parts, a crow demon stole the jewel I hit it with a purified arrow and the jewel broke into a million pieces. The rest of the story is basically finding all the jewel pieces with a monk, a demon slayer, and Shippo before Naraku did." Kagome sank down in her seat from exhaustion.
"Damn that was a long story." Kagome said.
Akiko, Aneko and Aiya just sat on the couch quietly. Most of them had a puzzled look on their face.
"So, where exactly did the well transport you?" Aneko questioned.
"Oh I forgot to mention that. I was transported to the feudal era and only Inuyasha and me were allowed to go through the well. I went back and forth though the well but I spent most of my time in the feudal era." Kagome answered.
"I hate to be rude but can we go? I came here to get some help on defeating Naraku." Shippo asked.
"Your right Shippo. Here's what we'll do, we'll send Akiko and Aneko to help you out." Kagome said smiling. Inuyasha nodded in agreement. Both girls jumped up with excitement.
"REALLY!!! WE GET TO GO!!!" The girls squealed.
Kagome smiled but when she peered around the two overjoyed girls her smile faded. Inuyasha saw this and followed her gaze, as did Shippo.
"What's wrong Aiya?" Inuyasha asked his daughter. The twins stopped rejoicing and turned to face their sister. Her eyes were tearing up and her bottom lip was puffed out which gave her the look of innocence.
"I want to go too!" She said bursting into tears. Every one sweat dropped.
"Fine. But let's hurry I want to get to see dad and mom as kids." Aneko snickered.
"Okay then let's go." Akiko said jumping in the air with excitement. Akiko, Aneko and Aiya ran upstairs, changed cloths, got their stuff and came back down stairs in a matter of seconds. Akiko was dressed in a white leather halter-top with matching white leather pants (Ya know, kind of like the outfit in Cat woman but white.) Aneko was wearing the same thing except in black. Aiya was dressed in a simple white tank top with a jean skirt and sneakers. The weapons they were carrying were a whole different story. Aneko was the most loaded one out of the three. She had twin swords strapped to her belt as was a couple guns and a couple of pouches that held some powders and healing solutions for emergency. She also had two knifes strapped to either leg. Akiko wasn't as loaded as her sister. She had twin swords that were identical to her sister's and two guns strapped to her belt. Aiya was hardly armed at all. All she had was a simple dagger strapped to her leg and bow and arrows strapped to her back.
"Wow." Shippo said looking at all of their weapons.
"Yah, well we don't want them to get hurt." Inuyasha explained.
Shippo gave him a blank stare. `And so you give them extremely dangerous weapons to make sure they don't get hurt.'
"Okay let's go." Akiko offered cheerfully. Akiko started walking out the door but stopped at mid-stride.
"Uh where are we going?" Akiko asked. Everyone fell on the floor.
"Oh don't worry Shippo knows where it is." Kagome said. "Okay you had better hurry or else your gonna be late."
"Late for what Mommy?" Aiya asked.
"Oh you'll see. You'll see." Kagome said closing the door behind them.
