Home Coming

 

The next morning they had woken up to the smell of eggs, rice, bacon, and what ever else that smelt good. Evidently, she was rolling in money because she had the housekeepers and there were cooks.

 

Kagome came down rubbing her eyes as she did sat down at the table and started putting food on her plate to eat as the other came down.

 

“Kagome, I was wondering if would be ok for me to go with you into the past. I have a shard that I will give you when we get there.” Chiyo had said as she was putting food on her plate as well.

 

“I did not think that you were connected with the past? But yea that will be ok.” Kagome said as the egg that was on her chop sticks fell to the plate. When that was done, she went into her room and pulled out a sword that was hers for a long time. Its blade was sharpened regularly. It belonged to her father as the other two things she gripped as well that belonged to her mother.

 

They got dressed and were on the way back to the temple. The car parked in front of it and Chiyo said that it will be a while and for him to go back to the house and wait for her call. He left and they were walking up the steps. Kagome went into the house got her pack and some food to take with them and she was out as she said by to her mother and grandfather.

 

“Kagome are you sure that you have no tests to be done now or would you like me to call and say that you will not be there?” Chiyo said to the girl.

 

“If there is an ailment that grandfather has not said to them then I do not know what you can do for me in that respect.” Kagome said to her.

 

“Oh, I think I can come up with one that they have not even heard of in four hundred years.” Picking the phone up, dialed the number to the school, and waited for some one to pick up. “ Hello, I am Kagome's aunt and she will not be coming in to school today because she came down with a virus of Cacogastric and it will take a few days or so until she feels well enough to come to school. (pause) Yes I will let you if there is anything else that needs to be done and if you can send one of the kids to get her homework and drop it off I will make sure she gets it and dose it. (another pause) Thank you so much.” She said with a smile on her face.

 

“What is Cacogastric anyway?” Kagome said.

 

“It means upset stomach. What you think I was going to put you on a death bed?” She said back all the while she was laughing at the face.

 

Kagome started to laugh as it sunk in. Then they were standing in side the building that held the Bone Eaters Well. Inuyasha jumped in, Kagome reached to touch Chiyo, and they both went into the well side by side.

 

Looking up the girls started to climb out of the well. Inuyasha reached in and helped Kagome out first. Then helped his aunt who refused it as she climbed out into the fresh air. It was getting close to noon when they walked into the village that was close to it.

 

“I wonder if Lady Kaede is still here. It has been a long time since I have seen her.” Chiyo said to the two.

 

“Yes she is and so are the other three friends of ours, Miroku, Sango, and Shippou.” Kagome said as they neared the hut. However, they never got the chance to do anything when a red haired kid ran and jumped into Kagome's arms.

 

“Shippou there you are, when is the rest of them we have a guest that I would like to introduce to them.” Kagome said to him.

 

“They are in the hut waiting, who is it? Is it that woman standing behind Inuyasha? What is her name and why dose she look like Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha?” He fired at her. Before to long the rest came out and behind them, an old lady came from behind and went to the woman that was talking to Inuyasha.

 

“Why if it is not Lady Chiyohana, It has been a long time my Lady.” Kaede said as she bowed low.

 

“Nay, Kaede do not do that. It has been a long time but come and get some lunch in and then we can talk.” Chiyo said as they went into the hut and ate lunch.

 

“Where are we going to go? I know you have not been here in a while.” Miroku said as his hand inched closer to Chiyo.

 

“Monk if you want to keep that hand on your arm I would not do that if I was you. However, I was thinking of going to the old home….Yes, I said it and yes, I know who is there. Nevertheless, he forgets that I was born there and I have the right to see it. So do not give me that face Inuyasha.” Chiyo said as the day descended into the night.

 

“What were the things that you brought with you Chiyo and what dose your name mean anyway?” Shippou said.

 

“The things I brought are my father's sword and the twin Rapier's that my mother had and used a lot to defend her and her family. They are sharp and very old but I have kept them in good shape. I know this time period is full of danger. But Shippou to satisfy your unstoppable mind my name means the Thousand-year flower. But I think it is getting time for you to sleep as well for the rest of us because we will be starting early.” Chiyo said to the kit-sun. He smiled and lay down next to Kagome. The rest stayed up for a while and talked under the stars into the late night. One by one, they dropped off to sleep but for Inuyasha and Chiyohana, They stayed up and said nothing to each other, But Inuyasha looked over and said to her. “There is another meaning to your name and I remember some one saying it…”

 

“Don't say it please do not say it, that is something that I rather not be said while the others are around. Only family knows the other meaning of my name but not for others to know. It is getting late lets go and get some rest.” She said to him.

 

 

The next morning came in clear and cool with a promise of a warm day ahead of it. One by one, they woke up, got breakfast, and started in the early morning.

 

“So we are heading for the Western Land and to where Sesshoumaru is?” Miroku said.

 

“Miroku, your timing is the worst, what makes you think that we are heading west?” Sango said.

 

The walk was a slow but very refreshing, they had stopped next to a stream that was shallow but not that shallow that the girls could not dip in, as they were hot. The men had gotten to the firewood and fished for the food. They did not notice that Chiyo was not with them until she showed up with a couple of rabbits and some herbs. “I think that it would be best if we got something else than fish for a while?” She said.

 

That was the best lunch they had for a while. The trek was a slow one but not uneventful. They were stopped twice by demons that wanted the jewel for them selves and each time Inuyasha got rid of them. Nevertheless, before to long they stopped to make camp when Chiyo sat up looking into the west as the sun went down.

“What is it?” Inuyasha asked as he sat up also watching her as he sensed the same thing.

 

“What here. I will not be long.” She said and got up and was on her way before she heard a protest coming from him.

 

“This can not be he was killed before my brother was killed. He should not be here.” She thought to herself.

 

Leaping from tree to tree she quickly got to the house that she sensed the demon. However, looking back she saw the rest following her.

 

“Do not follow me. You will be a distraction and that will cause problem. I mean you Inuyasha… Do not give me that look either. I am a dog demon and I think I know how to fight.” She said to him as she slipped into the shadows.

 

Standing there looking like he was going to kill some one. Inuyasha charges into the house but Kagome stopped him in mid stride.

 

“She told us to stay here.” She said.

 

“Bullshit, I am going in.” He said back.

 

“Inuyasha, SIT!” she said.

 

“That hurt you know.” He said from the ground.

 

“Then stay here and wait for her.” Kagome said.

 

“Fine but I do this against my will.” He said again as he got up from the floor.

 

In the house, Chiyo walked carefully and on alert. Pulling out the sword that was her fathers, she came out into the room that was set as a sitting room and in the middle of it sat a man that was tall by his standards, thin, with long black hair.
