But to what cost

 

Upon reaching the battle, the two saw that Naraku had just about every demon that he could summon. After the incident on Mt. Hakuray, he was not taking any chances.

 

Naraku had some of his lesser demons stake out the camp and he came in as the sun was setting. He watched something that had him thinking that it was the best time to strike the group and finally killing every one that had bothered him.

 

“Why of all nights it fell on this night, I am getting weaker by the fucking minuet.” Said a very human Inuyasha.

 

“Inuyasha I know that this is going to be hard, but I think you should have told your brother about this. If he had known I think he might have not set out as soon as he did.” Kagome said to him.

 

“Yea I think I had better…” He started to say.

 

That is when all hell broke out and a couple of thousand demons came out at them.

 

“Damn, he has been watching us. Where are Sesshoumaru and Chiyo?” He said as he moved out of the way.

 

“I don't know but the tetsusaiga will not transform while you are human.” Miroku said to him.

 

“We have it.” Sango said as she killed a couple hundred.

 

“Bull shit we are so out numbered.” He said back to her when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Whirling around to see that it was Koga himself.

 

“Asshole.” Inuyasha said as a fist plowed into his face.

 

“Yea that is me and now you are human and easier to kill.” He said, “Then Kagome will be mine to mate with and you will be gone.”

 

“She will never be with you. She is all ready my mate.” Inuyasha said to him and shoved him away.

 

Kagome had heard everything and she shot an arrow at him. It missed because she was hit from behind by a demon. She aimed another one but that was snatched by Kagrua as she used her wind to do it.

 

All of this was going on as Sesshoumaru and Chiyo showed up. Miroku and Sango were in the air doing their best to get rid of the demons.

 

“Aw, fuck me running.” Chiyo whispered as she pulled out one of her mother's swords and then her fathers. Sesshoumaru pulled out Tokigen and then ran to the fray that was going on.

 

She came behind him with both of her sword swinging it caught at least three and beheaded them as she went towards Inuyasha.

 

“Forget about me help Kagome.” He said as she came up to him.

 

Turning her heal she saw were Kagome was at and went to help her but was stopped when the wind was so strong Chiyo looked over to see what it was. Kagura was standing with a smile. Chiyo raised her mother sword whirled it around and then set it on the ground tip down.

 

“Kagrua, I see that Naraku has his eyes set on you to kill the Miko, Not in this fucking life time.” Chiyo said as she raised it once more and move it sideways. “Dragons breath” She yelled as a red-hot fire went to Kagrua.

“You must think that will get throw my wind, you are sadly wrong.” Kagrua said to Chiyo as the fire was barreling towards her.

 

“No, this can not be.” Was the last thing she thought as the fire hit her right in the chest and was burning her alive.

 

“Now, Kagome use one of your arrows to dispatch her.” Chiyo said to the girl as she came up, notched one arrow in the bow, and let it lose. The pink flame hit its target and she was purified instantly.

 

“Thanks, but where is Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.

 

“You think you can handle it with Miroku?” Chiyo asked.

 

Kagome nodded her head and went to help the monk while Chiyo went to where Inuyasha was at, but he was not there; looking around to him, she saw that he was on the ground in a pool of his own blood. She went to him but to be stopped by the very person who had ran his claws into Inuyasha.

 

“Kouga, You had not right to do this.” She said to him.

 

“Yes, I did and now I will have her.” He said as he charged toward her.

 

“Like you had Rin? You have no honor.” She said as she ran towards him. He was no match for her as she ran her sword through him. He looked up to see her, which she was something else and what he had expected to be.

 

With a swipe of her claws that was longer and sharper, she ripped his throat out and he dropped dead. Chiyo ushered Kagome of to him and asked if she could see the shards. After that was done, she had the shards and gave them to Kagome who now notice that Inuyasha was dead.

 

“NO!” Kagome yelled and went to him. Lifting him up and put his head on her lap she was crying hard and the tears feel on his face.

 

Chiyo came up to her and put her hand on Kagome's shoulders. “You both need to be healed before the boss comes.” Was said and the bright yellow flowed through her and reaching it way to Kagome and through her it went to Inuyasha.

 

Kagome watched as his eyes slid open to hers even though they were red and slightly swollen. “What happened?” He asked. Kagome smiled and told him what had happen.

 

“Inuyasha, you and Kagome need to be out of here so you can wait for the sun to rise in about two hours. I know that you can use the sword just yet. But I think Naraku is waiting for you, this was just a small fight he is holding back.” Chiyo said.

 

“How do you know that?” Inuyasha said as they moved to be out of the way.

 

“I can feel him. He is not far.” She said.

 

“This is not my aunt is it?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“No, I am the one that was spoken of in the family history, my name is Inu-Takahiro, I am what you would say as at least fifth great grandfather to you, now stay hidden until the sun comes up keep the Tetsiuga close to you.” He had said. Then he was gone into the battle.

 

Inuyasha looked dumb founded as the battle waged in front of him. However, that quickly turned into rage, as he knew that he could really do nothing. He could tell that the others were wearing down but they kept on fighting. It was getting closer to dawn that is when he saw it Naraku coming up on Sango then cutting her down with nothing at all. Inuyasha saw this, as did Kagome she screamed tiring to make her way to the demon slayer, but Inuyasha was holding her behind him. Chiyo saw it and was mad also and she was making her way to Sango also, but never made it as she hit a wall of miasma and dropped down to one knee. It was about that time that the pink in the sky was showing its way through. Chiyo could feel that the demon part of Inuyasha was waking up. What she got was a surprise and when he did got back to his Hanyou state, it was with red eyes and purple markings.

 

He was not a Hanyou as he dropped the sword and went after Naraku with his bare hands. As he got nearer, he reached out and ripped one of Naraku's arms off. He swung around and landed as his claws reached in through Naraku's chest to pull out some thing but what he got was miasma in the face, which nearly chocked him.

 

It was at this time that Sesshoumaru and Chiyo had gotten ready with their own charge as the sword were brought up and ran throw Naraku's legs and knees. Inuyasha came back for another round once again.

 

“Inuyasha, you need to take the tensaiga again.” Kagome said as she watches him pick it up. Never knowing when it will transform as it did this time as he was in his true form.

 

“Move out of the way because I am going to kill him.” Inuyasha said. “Kagome get ready to fire.”

 

Kagome nodded her head as she notched the arrow in the bow and said a silent prayer. “Kikyo, please help me aim true.”

 

“I think not.” Naraku said as his hands reach out and ran into Sango and Miroku at the same time. The rest watched to see them fall to the ground. Chiyo dashed to the two were at and tripped over a tentacle that was there and she landed fully on short spikes that were there. They did not penetrate very far. She got up and went to where the two were at and started to heal them in the soft yellow light. All of it just pissed Inuyasha even more as he ran and swung the sword down and yelled “WIND SCAR” and hit Naraku dead in his chest. Naraku looked at him and started to laugh.

 

“That is an irritating itch that needs to be scratched. I have felt more pain when I was re born.” Naraku said to Inuyasha.

 

“Wait it get better, you are only a half demon like me it will take me no time to figure out how to kill you.” Inuyasha said as his power fluxed and flowed around him.

 

As the soft yellow light stopped and she was standing up with them Inuyasha motioned for her to join him and his brother.

 

“Ready?” Inuyasha asked Chiyo.

 

“Yes, Kagome are you ready?” Chiyo asked the girl who also joined them.

 

“BACKLASH WAVE!” Inuyasha yelled.

 

“DRAGON STRIKE!” Sesshoumaru also yelled.

 

“DRAGON BREATH” Chiyo yelled.

 

“Please hit!” Kagome said as she let the arrow out and a pink flame engulfed it as the three combined attaches hit Naraku in a rushing sound of death.

 

“How?” He asked.

 

“Bastard, you think I was weak, I am not I have family and friends that I am stronger than any other full blood demon.” Inuyasha said to him as he disappeared from the world-leaving half of the jewel behind as Kagome went to pick it up and joined it to the whole one.

Chiyo went down after words as well did Inuyasha and Kagome as she sat down next to him. That only left Sesshoumaru and the two humans to watch over them.

 

“I will go and hunt for food if you want to build the fire and keep an eye out on them I will be back shortly.” Sesshoumaru said as he took off to find food. As Sango and Miroku built a fire going.

 

“Miroku, look at your hand.” Sango said as she sat down next to him.

 

He did and to see that flesh was back instead of a black hole he was happy. He turned to her and touched her cheek with his hand.

 

Chiyo sat up as she looked around to find if Sesshoumaru was there all she found were the two humans looking at something that was at their feet. Getting up she went to it and noticed the it was Sesshoumaru skinning the boar that he had killed and getting it ready to roast.

 

He looked up and over to see her but she did not look to good and neither did Kagome they both looked like death was on their doorstep.

 

“Inuyasha, check your mate something is wrong.” Sesshoumaru said to the Hanyou.

 

“I can smell that she was affected by the miasma as well as Chiyo.” Inuyasha said to his brother.

 

“But she was no where near that so how could she be affected by it?” Sango asked.

 

“I do not know but I can not do anything. I am too drained to do it. But I will try.” Chiyo said as she knelt down and placed her hand on Kagome and a faint yellow came out and engulfed Kagome.

 

Kagome woke up and looked around as a drop of blood landed on her and she looked up to see the Chiyo had been wounded in the fight.

 

“Chiyo lay down.” Kagome said. As she said the there was some one coming through the bushes. It was Jaken and Rin as well as Shippou who clung onto Kagome.

 

“All of you come by me and stand in circle.” Kagome said as that was said the jewel glowed pink and a voice came to them all.
