A ringing sound could be heard throughout the small café upon the entrance of a silver haired hanyou, Inuyasha. Before he could even begin to step further into the café, the excited squeals of a female rang through the building. She ran up to him quickly, and threw her arms around his middle with another high-pitched squeal.
“Inu-baby!” The girl shrieked happily as she embraced his middle tightly.
Inuyasha broke into a smile before returning the hug, “Hey Kikyou, you been good lately?”
The female, Kikyou, stepped back so she could peer up at him and beamed brightly with a nod.
“Of course Inu-baby! How could you ever doubt me?”
Kikyou was a tall girl with many womanly features. Her long sheet of midnight hair was straight and sleek; hanging down long past her waist to brush the back of her exposed knees. Her dark brown eyes were cold and unwelcoming, despite the smile that always graced the world on her pale ruby lips. She was clothed elegantly in her work uniform; a creamy beige, button up shirt and matching skirt with a frilly white apron tied tightly around her already thin waist to make a neat bow in the back. A small nametag placed above her right breast stated her name in her familiar fine cursive. Shiny black heels were worn on her dainty feet; clip clopping against the floor as she walked around; one foot placed firmly in front of the other and her posture straight.
She almost seemed to be a living doll; flawless and beautiful in every way. Was this why Inuyasha grew so bored of her so fast? Forced to continue his feigned delight every time he laid amber orbs on her. She was just too perfect; it drove him crazy!
A forced smile grew difficultly, trying so hard to make her feel special and wanted; even though he knew any other man would die to have her. Why was it so difficult to just let her go, for he was surely tired of her unblemished self.
Before he could speak another word, another female entered the room, a tray balanced in one hand as the other held a glass of ice water carefully. A small, real smile found its way curving the sides of Inuyasha's lips as he recognized the figure to be Kagome, his newfound secret lover.
She smiled gracefully to the elders she had been serving and bowed her way away from the table after setting the tray of coffee on the small round table. Standing to her full height, she let those radiant eyes of hers scan the room, before finally letting them rest heavily on Inuyasha. She smiled lightly and began walking over to the two.
“Hello Inuyasha…” She looked at the girl latched onto Inuyasha's arm and frowned, her eyebrows shifting down into a scowl, “…Kikyou…” She greeted Inuyasha cheerfully, though once those eyes hit the gaze of Kikyou's cold stare; she instantly grew dark, and yet greeted her look alike in almost a growl.
“Hello…Kagome,” She acknowledged back, a forced smile twitching at the corners of her thin lips; speaking her name with venom dripping from her too sweet voice.
“Kagome…how do you know Kikyou…?” Inuyasha asked curiously, looking from one fuming female to the next as they battled silently through murderous glares.
“Oh that twit? She's my cousin,” Kikyou answered haughtily with a shrug and a smug smile just as Kagome opened her mouth to speak.
Kagome furrowed her brow again and closed her mouth with a defiant stare in Kikyou's direction.
However, she turned to look at Inuyasha and smiled, “Well, I best be getting back to work. Lots to do ya know! I'll see you tomorrow at school.”
And with that, she turned sharply on her heel and stalked away in a brisk pace. Inuyasha just stared after her; blinking in a rather confused manner. And yet Kikyou, who still stood close beside, just let out a “Humph!” and stuck her nose in the air proudly with a smirk.
Such a strange girl…I think I must be in love…
