Beep Beep Beep
Inuyasha groaned and brought up a hand to slam down on the beeping device. Picking it up after “shutting it up” as he called it, he groggily opened his eyes to examine the digital numbers blaring red on the screen. Six o' clock…school started at seven thirty. Groaning again, he threw it down to the ground, not caring if it broke or not. He looked to his other side, expecting to see a peacefully sleeping Kagome.
However she was gone. Now fully awake, he threw off the covers and jumped out of bed, frantically searching the floor; maybe she had fallen off the bed in the middle of the night? Cursing to himself and ready to blame himself if anything had happened to her, he threw on a pair of boxers and was just sliding on his jeans when he heard a scream coming from the kitchen.
“Kagome!”
Throwing open his door, he raced through the house to skid into the kitchen. There he saw Kagome facing him, clothed in the same clothing of his she wore last night, with her index finger in her mouth. Her eyes were closed in pain and her other hand had come up to rest clenched on her chest.
“Kagome…are you all right…I heard you scream,” He asked, concerned as he walked over to her.
Taking her finger from her mouth, she looked up at him and smiled weakly. He saw blood and his protective side immediately kicked in.
“I'm fine…I just cut my finger while cooking…see, I made breakfast!” She said happily, allowing him to take her injured hand to examine it.
Shaking his head with a smile, he put the tip of her finger in his mouth and licked off the blood before taking her finger from his mouth. Taking a thin fabric cloth from his jean pocket, he tore off a strip from the bottom and wound it around her finger to keep the blood in tact. He raised the bandaged finger to his lips and kissed it softly before going over to look at the misu soup she had made.
“Mmm…smells delicious! And you made this yourself?” He complimented, looking over at her from over his shoulder.
She nodded with a bright smile and fished two bowls from his cabinets and nodded.
“Sure did! My mom taught me how to cook many things since I was only five. I make dinner at home all the time, seeing as mama is always working late and grandpa can't even pour a glass of water without making a mess. Souta's food kills all who eats it, so I'm always stuck doing all the house work while Souta plays, mama works, and grandpa runs the shrine. But I don't mind it; mama always says its training for when I become a house wife anyway,” She rambled on as she poured him a bowl of soup, handed it to him, then poured herself some.
And a wonderful bride you will make Kagome…
Sitting down at the table across from her, he blew the steam from the soup before digging it. The smell practically made him drool while the blast of taste was overwhelming.
This stuff is great! Where in gods name did she ever learn to cook so well? Gods, I've never tasted anything so delectable!
But he kept his mouth shut, mostly because he couldn't speak even if he wanted to seeing as his mouth was full of misu broth.
Breakfast was soon over and the two were off to school after another hour of preparing and some heated kisses. They walked to school together, or more like Kagome rode on Inuyasha's back as he ran at full speed to school.

Kagome walked through the halls of Shikon High, heading for her next class she shared with Inuyasha. She hadn't caught a glimpse of Kouga nor Kikyou, but its not like she was worried over them. They could disappear and never return for all she cared. She was so happy, and nothing in the world could change this feeling. She had Inuyasha were a couple; or so it seemed to her.
Wait…what am I thinking?! Of course we're a couple. For Pete's sake, we had sex last night! He must love me as I do him…right?
But then a new thought hit her; hit her so hard she froze in her tracks. Was it all for pleasure to him?
He never said he loved me…only that he wanted me. But he was concerned…he didn't want to hurt me. That shows something…right? And what if it was all a scam? No…it was for real…the way he looks at me…I just know it was for real! And what if it was all just an act to get me in bed…was that his first time? What does it matter how many times he's had sex? He loves me…I know it!
Her mind battled; like two sides clashing together. But then it dawned on her.
Oh god…what if I'm pregnant?! If I am…will he want to stay with me? Will he run away and leave me with his child…forever?
She couldn't take it anymore. The warning bell rang through the halls, snapping her back to reality. She had class right now; she would deal with her problems later.

Kagome shifted from one foot to the other as she stood at the check out counter, nervously peering around and flashing the lady awkward smiles. She only smiled back as she rang up Kagome's items, and didn't even look at Kagome as she rang up the pregnancy test packet.
“That'll be twenty-five dollars please.”
Kagome fished threw her wallet and handed the lady a twenty and a five, ignoring the emptiness of her wallet. That had been the last of her paycheck from working at the café; she was so poor at the moment. She sighed and smiled weakly as she grabbed the plastic bag containing all of her items and headed out the door to start her walk home.

She had to wait a few moments for the stick to take any effect, so she busied herself with making dinner for herself. The timer she had set for the amount of time the packet said she had to wait let out a finishing ding and she made her way slowly into the bathroom. She gripped the handle of the bathroom door and closed her eyes, breathing in and out a few times to try and calm her nerves. If she were pregnant, she would have to tell Inuyasha.
She swung open the door and walked inside, refusing to look down at the stick resting on the counter until she had down a few deep breathings. Looking down, she could only stare with wide eyes. She had to face the facts now; the test was positive. She was pregnant.
Letting out a choked cry, she hurled the stick into the trashcan, right before passing out and falling to the carpeted floor with a soft thud.

“Kagome! Kagome are you home? Open up!” Inuyasha called through the wooden door as he rapped his fist on the door multiple times.
He knew she was home; he could smell her scent coming from inside. But he couldn't hear her; what was she doing?
“Alright Kagome, I'm coming in!” He called and quickly turned the handle to push the door open.
He walked inside and looked around, sniffing the air. Yep, she was defiantly here. But where was she and what was she doing. He couldn't hear a sound anywhere. And what was this other scent; it smelt as though something was burning. Peering around, he walked further inside before he spotted something that made his heart freeze.
A pale skinned arm peeking out from behind a corner edge of the wall and midnight black hair spilling out of the floor. That's all he could see past the wall, but he knew for sure it was Kagome.
“Kagome!” He whispered her name weakly, his voice hoarse with fear.
He rushed to her side and stopped beside her as he looked over her form. No blood and no wounds; he let out a sigh of relief. He skin was pale, much paler then usual. Her lower body lay on the cold tile of the bathroom while her upper body had fallen to the carpeted hallway.
“She must have fainted…but why…what happened here Kagome?”
He knew she couldn't hear him, but it didn't hurt to speak out loud. Sighing and shaking his head, he carefully and leisurely picked her up and held her in his arms bridal style. He made sure her head and neck were secure before walking into the living room to rest her on the couch. Rushing to the bathroom, he wet a washcloth and folded it up before walking back into the living room to rest it on her forehead.
Pulling up a chair, he sat at her side and never let his eyes wander from her form as he waited patiently for her to awake.

Inuyasha watched as Kagome groaned and stirred before opening up her eyes slowly. She peered up at the ceiling before shifting her head on the couch to gaze over at Inuyasha. She blinked a few times as she stared at him, watching as he smiled and caressed her face and smothered her in kisses.
But he froze in mid kiss as he noticed the shaking of her body and the tears streaming down her face.
“Kagome?! What's wrong? Why are you crying?!”
Kagome only shook her head and cried harder, bringing her hands up to cover her face with her hands.
“I can't tell you!” She wailed through her hands, shaking her head violently.
Inuyasha suddenly scooped her up and cradled her in his arms. Stroking her hair and covering her in loving kisses, he kissed away her tears and whispered comforting words to her. Once she had calmed down, he tried a gently approach. Why couldn't she tell him?
“Why can't you tell me?”
She sniffed, “Because…because…”
“Because why?” He whispered soothingly, kissing her neck a few times between words.
“Because you'll leave me…I know you will…” She was on the verge of tears again; but Inuyasha shushed her tears as he kissed each closed eyelid.
“Kagome…I will never leave you…I love you…so much…”
Kagome hic upped and buried her face into his chest, “I love you too…”
Inuyasha smiled and slid his hand under her shirt to lightly run his nails across the skin on her back.
“Kagome…please tell me what's troubling you…I hate to see you so unhappy…”
He could feel her body tense in his arms; what was troubling her so?
“Inuyasha…I-I'm pregnant…”
Inuyasha's eyes widened; was this the reason she had fainted? He was speechless in not horror, but utter delight. However he could tell his silence was upsetting her; he should have spoken sooner. She pulled away from him with tears streaming down her face and walked a few feet away from him, turning her back on him and hugging herself tightly.
“I know you're going to leave me…leave me to care for our child on my own. But I won't give it away…”
“Kagome…”
His next words were swallowed and choked on as he watched a distraught Kagome turn to face him, tears streaming down her paled cheeks and her gray orbs had taken on a wounded glow. It killed him to see his lover in so much pain, especially when the hurt was directed his way. She thinks I'll leave her…why? How could she ever think that way?! But…in a way…it's to be expected. He took a step forward, only for her to step back and turn away. She was just getting ready to walk out the door, when a gasp escaped her past her lips as a pair of muscular arms wound their way around her petite waist.
“What drives you to think such horrid thoughts?” His voice was soft, and sent shivers down her spine as his breath tickled her ear.
“I…Inuyasha…” She hadn't wanted to, yet she couldn't keep herself from sinking into his embrace.
“I'd never leave you Kagome…not for anything in the world. I love you…and our child…I want to raise it together with you…and I swear to always keep the two of you safe and happy…”
