A/N: You're welcome to utopian dragon for thanking me in her story. And thank you to all of you who visited both stories and reviewed. And I have to say that I think I'm hooked on “Crossing Paths”. It's got a great plot that I've never seen before and her character development is great.
But you're here to read this story so I'll stop rambling now.

“Kagome?” Sango stared at her friend as she opened the door and let them in.
“Kagome are you alright? What's wrong?” She asked immediately.
“I just needed some company, that's all,” she said, giving them her best fake smile.
“Umm…okay.” Sango said. They followed her into the kitchen where Miroku opened the carrying case full of food.
“Do you guys want some tea?” Kagome asked, retrieving three mugs from the cabinet.
“Yeah,” Sango said. She sat down at the table, but was still eyeing her friend suspiciously as Kagome moved around the kitchen.
“You got breakfast from Tazo?” Sango asked, in a shocked tone, looking at the bag that was already on the table. Tazo was a very up scale café that Kagome and Sango had only dreamed of eating from.
“Inuyasha brought it.”
“Do you mean he stole it or paid for it?” Miroku asked, sitting down next to his girlfriend.
“I'm guessing he paid for it because the police haven't shown up looking for him yet.”
“That's odd. I've never known Inuyasha to buy food from such a high-class place. I wonder what's come over him.” Miroku said in a suggestive voice.
“Tell us Kagome. Have you been slipping something into his drinks…or in his bed lately?” As soon as it came out of his mouth Sango slapped him, and Kagome dropped one of the mugs as she was filling it with hot water. She jumped back quickly to keep it from breaking and splashing hot water on her feet.
“Kagome are you okay?” Sango said, coming over to help her.
“I'm fine, it didn't burn me.” She went over to the other side of the kitchen for paper towels and Sango began picking up the pieces of shattered porcelain.
“My apologies Kagome; it was an innocent joke,” Miroku said, rubbing his cheek.
“As if anything about you is innocent…” Sango said, snidely.
“Kagome?” She looked up on her way to the trashcan and saw her friend bent over the sink.
“Kagome?” Sango repeated, walking over slowly. Miroku came over to after hearing the slight panic in his girlfriend's voice. Walked up and stood behind her as they both looked at girl before them.
“Kagome, are you crying?” Sango asked, disbelievingly.
“No, why would you say that?” Kagome asked, in a shaky voice.
“Because you're shaking, your face is pinched, and there are tears coming from your eyes,” she said, looking at her friend as if she was ridiculous.
Kagome could only nod at her words and then turned to bury her face in her friends shoulder. Sango was shocked, but held her all the same. She cast a nervous glance over her shoulder to her boyfriend who was as equally stunned as she was. But he regained himself quickly when he saw the helpless look on his girlfriend's face.
“Kagome tell us what happened,” he said, calmly
“I'm sorry. I'm fine,” she said, standing up and wiping her face with the back of her hand.
“No you're not Kagome. You're scaring me. What happened?” Sango asked, a little more forcefully this time.
“It's no big deal. Inuyasha and I slept together that's all,” she said, giving them their tea and taking down a spare mug.
“What?” Sango shouted. Miroku coughed in his tea, splashing it down the front of his shirt.
“Kagome?” He asked, with tea all over his face.
Kagome simply picked up her new mug and pushed passed them to get to the table. They were so shocked that they didn't bother to stop her. She sat down and took her food out of the bag, completely ignoring their scandalized stares.
“Kagome, you lost your virginity to Inuyasha?” Sango breathed. When he friend only nodded, she walked over to the table with a cautious air and sat down beside her.
“How did this happen?” Pity was beginning to seep into Sango's voice. She knew Kagome had been a virgin since the day she met her. Kagome was actually very proud of this fact. She had never been like some of the other girl in their dorm, who had a different guy every night. So many of them got pregnant and had to drop out. Sango knew how Kagome pitied those girls and stayed true to what her mother had taught her. Now to hear that she had lost something that was so important to her was jarring. Sango knew that she and Inuyasha liked each other but she never thought it would go so far so fast. They weren't even dating, or at least she didn't think they were. Maybe there was more behind Kagome being his date last night.
“Kagome are you and Inuyasha…together?” She asked. Kagome only shrugged and kept eating. Miroku had been leaning against the kitchen counter the whole time, too astonished to move. But he made his way over to sit in front of his friend.
“Have you two talked about it?” He asked her, and she shook her head.
“Do you plan on it?” He asked, and she nodded.
“What did he say this morning?” Sango asked.
“He had to go before we could talk,” she said, in a small voice.
“Kagome, Inuyasha cares for you. I've been friends with him every since we were little and he beat this big kid up for stealing my bike,” Miroku said. Sango snorted and Kagome smiled.
“I was small compared to that kid. Inuyasha, even though he was the same size, had been taking karate lessons even at that age,” Miroku said, in defense.
“He cares Kagome. I've never seen him act the way he does toward you with any other girl. And you're able to put up with him; he likes that,” Miroku said, rubbing her hand.
“You two just need to talk, after I talk to him first.” Sango's voice held the edge of a threat.
“Now, now Sango my love. I'm sure he doesn't deserve that.” But Miroku shut up instantly when he saw the cold look his girlfriend was giving him. When she saw that he got the message, she turned her concern back to Kagome.
“Do you want us to stay with you until he gets back?”
“Yeah,” Kagome said.
“Well then we should break out the movies,” Miroku said, standing up.
“Allow me to carry your food for you ladies,” he said, dipping into a bow. He suddenly took Kagome's free hand in his and looked her straight in the eye.
“Kagome I only wish it was me you would have chosen for your first time,” he said, passionately. Sango began to fume.
“I would have been so gentle with yo-!” Sango had hurled a plate at him and it connected with his head. And Kagome laughed for the first time that morning.

“I don't have time for this shit! Jakotsu, get Shippou in here!” Inuyasha raged, as he walked into his office.
“Yes sir,” Jakotsu said, with a fake shiver
“I just love it when he's angry,” Jakotsu mumbled to himself. He picked up the receiver on his desk.
Inuyasha threw his jacket on his computer chair and began pacing up and down the room. He was not in the mood for this today. He had planned to stay home with Kagome. After what happened last night he didn't want to leave her side. It had been her first time and he wanted more than anything to make sure she was okay. But neither one of them would be okay if he lost his job over someone else's screw ups, so he had to leave her.
He was worried about her; he had no problem admitting that to himself. He had seen the look on her face this morning. She looked scared; she said she wanted to talk to him and in truth that made him nervous. What if she regretted what they had done? What if she wanted to tell him that it could never happen again? He wouldn't let her do that. He still remembered what she confessed in the heat of their passion, and that he had done the same thing. They couldn't turn back from that.
He had fantasized about being with her now it had finally happened. He felt more relaxed than words could describe when he had woken up tangled together with her. He felt happy seeing her lying naked in his bed. Even when he left to get them food, he had hurried just so could come back and see her still lying there. It wasn't too disappointing that she had woken up by the time he'd gotten back; he would have just had to wake her anyway. But the fact that he had to leave her at a time when she needed him, pissed him off to no end.
“Inuyasha I didn't do it!” Was the first thing out of Shippou's month when he came in the room. Inuyasha stopped pacing and turned to face him.
“Then who did?”
“The stock manager fell asleep last night before he could check off that the shipment been loaded onto the trucks,” he explained.
“Fucking moron!” He snarled.
“Language please, Kyouryoku,” said Inuyasha's boss in a chiding voice.
“I can't believe there was such a screw up!” Inuyasha said, continuing his tirade.
“I'll fix the situation, just go home Kyouryoku.” Right now his boss just wanted him out of the building before he burned it down.
“Good,” Inuyasha said, grabbing his coat from his chair. He stormed out past them before they could find some other reason to keep him there.
“Inuyasha you have a-“ Jakotsu began, but Inuyasha cut him off.
“Not today Jakotsu.”
“Kyouryoku-san?” A young woman was sitting in one of the chairs against the left wall in front of Jakotsu's desk.
“Yeah?” Inuyasha said, eyeing her suspiciously.
“I'm the reporter from Zokuwa magazine. You rescheduled our interview for today
,” she said, standing up.
“I really don't-“
“A reporter?” Asked Inuyasha's boss, as he and Shippou exited his office.
“Well an interview would be wonderful right now since the product has just been shipped world wide,” he said, beaming. Inuyasha rolled his eyes and waved for the girl to follow him back into his office.
`If it isn't one fucking thing, it's another…'
