The land was brewing with chaos. Sesshoumaru sniffed the air and he knew the final battle was not far away. He looked down and his heart twitched as he saw the smiling face of his young companion. "Rin." her named echoed through his mind. She was not going to leave his side willingly, he knew that much. And he had come to love the little girl very much, although hardly ever showing it. "I must keep her safe." he thought and called for the two headed dragon to join them.

- Take Rin, he ordered and lifted the young girl onto the dragon's back together with the little toad demon.

- Sesshoumaru-sama, where are we going? asked Rin.

- To my brother, said Sesshoumaru.

The odd group took to the skies and headed towards the village where Inuyasha and his pack were housing.

Inuyasha saw them coming and he held a hand on his sword. But then he saw the young girl and he removed it again. His brother never did anything violent around little Rin, and Inuyasha admired Sesshoumaru for that.

- Inuyasha, said Sesshoumaru with his rich voice.

- Yes Sesshoumaru, what is it?

- I need a favour from you.

Inuyasha could see that it chewed on the great tai youkai's lord to ask this so he decided not to taunt his older brother about it.

- What can I do for you?

- Rin, take her through the magic portal, said Sesshoumaru and lifted Rin from the dragon's back. But instead of putting her on the ground like he usually did he held on to her, almost hugging her.

- Why? asked Inuyasha and saw Rin's happy face as her guardian held her.

- I want her to be safe Inuyasha. And I think she will be safe on the other side.

- Of course brother, I'll take her through well and I know Kagome's family will take good care of her, said Inuyasha.

Sesshoumaru nodded and handed Rin to Inuyasha. His younger brother smiled at the girl as he twitched his ears, making her laugh. For a moment the lord was jealous of his brother's ears but soon regained his posture.

- Rin, be a good girl and behave while I am away, he said and caressed her cheek.

- I will Sesshoumaru-sama.

- Now go Inuyasha, said Sesshoumaru thickly and turned around, he wouldn't let anybody see the tears that shimmered in his eyes.

Inuyasha nodded and bolted off into the forest that bore his name. It didn't take him too long to reach the battered old well. Young Rin giggled in his arms as he flew through the forest.

Once he set down on the ground he looked at Rin and smiled. Then he jumped into the well. The purple light engulfed them and they seemed to float in mid air for a few seconds before landing on the other side of the portal. With a jump he was out of the well and he opened the doors and walked outside.

- Rin, this is where Kagome's family lives. They are good and kind people. I just know that you will like her brother, he is just like you.

- Inuyasha-sama?

- Your lord asked me to take you here so you would be safe. We are going into a battle and he was afraid that you might get hurt.

He smiled as he spoke with voice that nobody would have recognized as his. He walked over to the shrine and knocked on the door. Mrs. Higurashi opened and he could hear her small gasp.

- Mrs. Higurashi, I have a request, began Inuyasha. - This is Rin, she is my brother's young ward. Since we are moving towards the final battle he asked that I would bring her here so she would be safe.

- Of course, of course, come in! said Mrs. Higurashi once she got her speech back.

They walked into the living room and Inuyasha put Rin down.

- Is it ok with you if she stays here? asked Inuyasha.

- Of course she can stay, said Mrs. Higurashi and moved so she was looking right into Rin's face. - Hi Rin, my name is Aya Higurashi.

- Higurashi-sama, said Rin and bowed just like she had been taught to do.

- There's no need to be so formal Rin-chan. You are happy to stay here as long as you like, smiled the older woman.

Rin nodded but looked up at Inuyasha. The hanyou's heart contracted when he saw the sorrow in her dark green eyes. He picked her up and hugged her. He whispered words of comfort to the young girl before he left them.

- Come Rin-chan, let's see what we can find to eat in the kitchen before Souta-chan and jii-chan comes back, ok?

- Mm, mumbled Rin and followed the gentle lady to the kitchen.

"Will I ever see you again Sesshoumaru-sama?"she wondered as she walked behind Aya-san.

Ten years went by and Rin was still living with the Higurashi family. Nobody from the past had come back to get her. She tried jumping into the well several times, on one occasion she ever broke her ankle when she landed on the bottom. She knew that Mrs. Higurashi was sad because she had lost her daughter, but she never told anybody about it. When Rin tried to talk to her she said that she may have lost a daughter but she regained another. And with that the conversations always ended.

Rin had taken a last name, Ashuramusume, demon daughter, something that nagged jii-chan for the rest of his life. Rin loved the old nutcase, but sadly, he was old and died a year ago. She would miss him greatly.

Rin was a young woman now, around twenty years of age. Her long black hair still had a pony tail. But the sparkle that had been inside her eyes as a child was no longer present. Not a day passed without her thinking about her Sesshoumaru-sama. This day was no exception. She had taken the car outside of town where she could stroll around the forest, remembering the old days, the happy days. She could stay here for days at the time and her "mama" was aware of it and had no objection. Two women with two sorrowful spirits. Rin smiled sadly when she thought about Aya-san.

Unaware that she was being watched by four men with anything but good in their hearts, Rin wandered deeper and deeper into the woods. She looked up and saw the sun set and she let out a sigh and turned around to walk back to sleep in the car. It was then she was surrounded and her heart stopped beating before it went into overdrive. They closed in on her and grabbed her. She screamed.

- SESSHOUMARU-SAMA!!!!

The wolf sniffed the air and then heard the scream. The dark grey wolf rushed towards the soul searing scream and it knew it was a young woman in distress. A couple of year's back he would never have thought of helping a human, but now… He couldn't let her get hurt. With an unusual speed he reached the area from where the scream came and what he saw made him furious. Four men, ripping the clothes of a young woman. She fought against them but they were too strong for her. Without hesitation the black attacked, his claws and fangs tearing through flesh. Screams of pain filled the evening with their chilling sounds. The men were soon on the run, leaving the terrified woman to the blood thirsty wolf.

Rin had passed out due to the shock; she never saw the wolf that saved her. She never saw him transform into a man with short white hair and golden eyes. He was dressed in black leather pants, black boots and a black leathery west. On his chest you could see a cross shaped scar. He frowned when he realized that the woman had passed out. He quickly checked her for injuries. He thanked the Gods that she still had her underwear on, she hadn't been raped; he got here just in time. He found a nearby stream and he took her ripped shirt and put in the water. He then gently washed her face until her eyes began to flutter open.

Rin felt the cold wetness in her face and opened her eyes. At first her sight was blurry but when she got focus she could see a white haired man with golden eyes. "He came for me…"

- SESSHOUMARU!!she yelled and threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tight.

The man was startled and lost his balance. He fell onto his back with a excited young woman hugging and kissing him like crazy. He tried to fend her off but it was impossible.

- Sesshoumaru-sama, I knew you would come for your Rin, I knew it. I've missed you so much. Promise me you won't leave Rin again, promise, promise, promise.

The young woman began to cry, he could feel her tears on his face as she kissed him. He took hold of her waist in his effort to push her off his body. Suddenly she stiffened and she pulled away to look at him. He could see that her eyes held a dark green colour and he could also see that she was confused.

- Sesshoumaru-sama, you have cut your hair? And… you have two arms?

- Could you please get off me, growled the man. He was irritated because the closeness to her soft curves invoked feelings inside his soul, feelings he had long gone forgotten about.

- What have you done with your ears? And your markings are gone!! Sesshoumaru-sama, what have you done??

He could hear the hysteria in her voice as her fingers traced the outlines of his face and ears.

- Miss, I've no idea of who this Sesshoumaru-sama is, but I want you to get off me right now!!

- But.. but.. don't you recognize me? I am your Rin!

- Rin? Is that your name?

The woman nodded.

- Well Rin, I am not this Sesshoumaru you speak of. My name is Tsume; I rescued you from being gang raped! Snarled the man viciously and pushed her non to gently off his body and he stood up.

- Y-you are not Sesshoumaru-sama?

- No, I am not. Here, take this, it is not much, but it will cover you up a bit, said the man and handed over his leathery west.

Rin looked down and saw that she was both shirt- and braless. She whimpered and took the clothing and put it on.

- They didn't get the chance to do anything else with you little missy.

- T-thank you, she whispered.

- I suggest you get out of here before they decide to come and look for you again missy, said Tsume. Not that he thought that to be a likely possibility, but if he could scare off the girl as well. But then she looked at him and he was lost. This girl, she was hazardous to his mind's peace.

Rin got up and began walking towards her car, but something in her heart wouldn't let go of the man who had save her. He was not her Sesshoumaru, but he was a man that she could care for. He was rough on the edges; he had magnetism and charisma like a wild animal, something that she missed with the ordinary human men in her world. She had never had any interest in them, they were just plain ordinary. But this man, he was a man that she could love. She turned back and before she knew what she was doing, she was kissing him.

Tsume was unable to fight off the woman one more time, and he couldn't fight off the arousal that kept growing in is body. Her lips claimed his in a passionate kiss and his arms went around her waist, hugging her close to him. The steam was almost visible around their bodies. Tsume was sure that the temperature had risen several degrees around them since she first started to kiss him. In a moment of clarity he wondered what made her turn around and walk back to him. But when her small tongue played erotically with his he was soon lost in the passion again.

Rin moved her hands over his bare back, the muscles under his skin twitched and she knew she had caught a very handsome man. And she was not going to let him go. Even if it was ten years since she had walked in Sesshoumaru's footsteps, she had learned that if you wanted something very badly, you should get it and then hold on to it. - Sesshoumaru-sama told me that if I ever found that certain someone I should hold on to him and make him my mate. And you are that certain someone for me Tsume.

- This Sesshoumaru, is he a demon perhaps? asked Tsume as his hands moved to play with her soft mounds. His answer was a violent nod from the girl beneath him. So he was a demon, and that would make it easier to find him. Silently he promised himself that he would help her find her Sesshoumaru, or at least find out what happened to him. - Do you want to be my mate Rin?

- Yes, I would love to be your mate Tsume. It is odd, I have only met you, but I feel like I have known you my whole life.

Tsume had to agree with that, he could feel it as well. Soul mates perhaps? What ever it was, it felt real good. - Rin, what is the matter? You are scaring me here, said Tsume and cupped her chin with his right hand.

- I… I just have s-some bad memories. W-wolf demons k-killed me once, she said as tears flooded her eyes.

- Killed you? I don't understand Rin.

- Sesshoumaru-sama brought me b-back to life with a v-very special sword. B-but…

- Shhh, little Rin. I'm not a demon. Although I'm a wolf I'm not a demon. I would never hurt you Rin.

- I'm sorry Tsume.

- It's ok.

He rocked her gently as he tried to calm her down. He was aware that his erection still was buried deep within her body and that was still hard as hell. He wanted her to understand that he never would do any harm to her and when he felt her relax he mentally let out the breath he was holding. He wanted to know more of her strange upbringing, but right now he wanted to finish what they had started.

"Stupid Rin, stupid, stupid Rin."she scolded herself as her arms went around his neck once again. Of course he wouldn't hurt her, he had saved her from being gang raped and now he was making love to her, he was tender and caring. He would never hurt her. Her bitter memory was just playing bitter games with her mind. She nuzzled her face into his neck and whispered that she was sorry over and over again. A low chuckle could be heard from Tsume and she looked up into his face again.

- If you let us finish what we have started I will never think about it again my little precious Rin, he whispered hotly as his lips came crashing down on hers once again.

Rin responded to his kiss and when he began moving inside her wet cave she was lost to the pleasurable feelings. Just feeling his hands on her lower parts, grabbing her to help her move up and down his shaft faster and faster made her head spin. She cried out his name as he brushed over a spot that was more sensitive than anything else.

Tsume sighed in relief. A father, not a lover, a father.

Rin was already asleep with her head resting against his chest. He smiled and kissed her forehead. Odd night indeed.
