An Inuyasha Short

 

Summary~ Inuyasha is off with Kikyou again, and Kagome, still at camp, is depressed. Miroku seeing the distraught priestess, comforts her. *and not in the way you're probably thinking!! ^-~* Miroku x Kagome

Kagome sighed, and looked toward the stars that glittered brilliantly in the navy blue sky.

 

“Something wrong, Lady Kagome?” The monk Miroku asked leaning against tree. Kagome looked down toward the fire, “Nothing's the matter, Miroku…” she said. Of course something is wrong, Kagome! Inuyasha is with Kikyou again! Miroku's mind screamed out to the young priestess. His heart pounded painfully for Kagome. She was such a beautiful girl, and Inuyasha was taking advantage of her.

 

Miroku stood up and walked carefully over the sleeping demon slayer and Kirara.

 

Shippou shifted in his sleep, cuddling closer to Kagome.

 

“Kagome…” he said quietly, sitting beside her.

“Yes, Miroku?” Kagome asked, turning her full attention to the monk.

 

Miroku averted his gaze toward the fire Kagome was watching earlier. “If you ever need someone to talk to… You can speak with me as well as Sango.. you know that, right?” he asked. Kagome smiled weakly, “Of, course, Miroku. I know that.”

 

THEN WHY DON'T YOU?! Miroku's mind screamed out. “Kagome…why do you let Inuyasha go to Kikyou?” He asked. From the corner of his eye he saw Kagome's head hung low, he immediately regretted saying it, but it's not like he could change it now.

 

“Even if I tried to stop him, and he did, it's not like he could forget about her, right? He thinks about her all the time; I can't change that Miroku.” She said, tears welling up in her eyes.

 

Miroku reached up and brushed away the tears from her eyes, “Don't cry, Lady Kagome…I bet some one cares the same for you…”

 

Kagome's blue eyes stared weakly up into Miroku's own Navy-lavender ones, from what she could tell, they held no lies. “……Who?” she asked, confused Who is he talking about? Kouga? Kagome thought.

 

The moment she blinked, she felt soft lips press against hers, What? she opened her eyes in shock, to find Miroku, with his eyes closed, was kissing her.

 

She was to stunned to push him away, instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back

 

Even if this is wrong…right now.. I feel it's right… they both thought at the same time.

 

Miroku broke the kiss, “I'm sorry, Lady Kagome, I couldn't help myself!” he stated sheepishly.

 

Kagome returned the smile, “It's okay Miroku.. Thank you.. for caring..” she said before drifting off to sleep.

 

Miroku though one thing before he himself went to sleep Inuyasha is going to kill me…

Sango quickly snapped her chocolate eye back closed, and smirked. Inuyasha…I believe you've lost. Way to go Miroku she thought happily.

I wrote this for my friend who didn't like that I put Kagome and Sesshoumaru together, I hope you like this!
