Kagome sat in her room trying to finish the rest of her homework. She only had two months before she would graduate and she really wanted to bring up her grades. Inuyasha had been such an ass about it. He just didn't understand, how could he? She was already eighteen years old, `Where has the time gone?' she asked herself tapping her pencil on the desk. “Oh yeah, back to the past, ha,” she grumbled to herself. Kagome was still very much in love with Inuyasha, but she had learned to hide her feelings. He always ran hot and cold with her and she was getting feed up!

She stood up to stretch. She could never do her homework when she began thinking of him. She turned up her radio, listening to her favorite `glam punk' band Lilly CD. It was a cover album of the Josie and The Pussycats Soundtrack the song was called You Don't See Me. It always made her think of Inuyasha. She signed and returned to her desk, pulling out her sketchpad. Over the years she had gotten fairly decent and had created portraits of her all friends from the past and some of the things they had done together. She only had some finishing touches to do on her current portrait, it was of Inuyasha deep in thought. They had just learned some vital information about where Naraku had disappeared to this time, it was far to the south and that's was why Kagome had insisted she finish school before they left.

Inuyasha had changed over the last three years, he had become quieter and more decisive, she thought to herself. Kagome on the other hand had rebelled against her feelings for Inuyasha as well as everything else. She got into punk, which she still loved, but she had also tried dating, nothing serious. On a particularly bad date she had realized that while Naraku was still at large she would not be able to have a normal life, let alone a normal relationship. The battle against Naraku had been tough so far, and riddled with set backs and tragedy's. And they had both been effected greatly. They had just...grown apart.

She dreamed of him at night. She had never gone all the way with a guy, but she had some experience. In her dreams he would come to her and tell her he loved her or show her is some way. They would start fooling around until Kagome was writhing under him. Then she would wake up in a cold sweat and curse his name for making her feel this way. She had promised to stay by his side and help kill Naraku and recover the jewel. So she was continuously plagued by her emotions for him. And no matter how hard she tried she just couldn't determine what would happen once Naraku had been defeated.

But the feelings between them were still there, they had just become harder and harder to express the older they got. She could tell in those special moments where they would give in and show their feelings. Lately, however, those moments had become nothing more than just awkward pauses of silence that would become unbearable right before Inuyasha would walk away. Did he finally give up his feelings for her?

Finished with her portrait she stood and began to dance around her small room, cleaning a little as she went. She was taller now and her hair had gotten rather long. She had begun to dress in the glam punk fashions. She remembered Inuyasha's reaction and it made her laugh. He hadn't really recognized her until she spoke and he had just grumbled about how she looked older as he turned away so she wouldn't see him blush. She was wearing a black retro punk slashed shirt with a band's name on it, a hot pink and black plaid mini skirt that was decorated with safety pins, and black fishnet stockings, her black lace up combat boots next to her desk on the floor.

Inuyasha had grown tired of her moaning. Killing Naraku had to be more important than finishing this `high school' Kagome was so obsessed about. Although, it did make him slightly happier to know that her mother had agreed to let her come back indefinitely until Naraku was destroyed after she had finished `school'. He climbed silently up to Kagome's window, it was late and he could tell she was up but he didn't want to disturb her family. They were so nice to him. It made his feelings for Kagome even harder to overcome, just knowing he was accepted here. But he had decided that Kagome and him just couldn't be. They were from different times, they weren't meant to be together. As he reached her window he saw her dancing and became very still. She was so beautiful. Ever since last year she had become so different and had begun to hold him at an arms length, just drawing him to her more. `Like a moth to a flame,' he thought. Because he knew she would only get hurt, he remained only her friend.

She knew Inuyasha was just worried. That was his problem she decided. He just thought too much. Even after three years he felt it was necessary for him to protect her. She wished he would realize that she can make her own decisions and her decision would be to walk side by side with Inuyasha. `Like that will ever happen,' she thought sadly. Her face turned upwards in a smile as her devious side decided maybe Inuyasha just needed a push in the right direction. Women in her time were not shy, like in Inuyasha's, they were direct and knew how to get what she wanted.

`And boy did she know he could,' she thought with a shiver, remembering the time they had shared a few passionate kisses in the forest, right before she turned seventeen. She would get Inuyasha one way or another she decided. She was sick of being lovesick over him. And if he didn't return her feelings then maybe she would be able to finally get him out of her system she thought as she turned around her gaze finally falling on the window. `Speak of the demon,' she joked to herself going over to open the window for him.

 

Inuyasha was caught off guard as she looked toward the window and he blushed furiously as he lowered his head. Kagome was moving to unlock and open the window. She had started locking it after he had walked in on her changing once, `boy had that been embarrassing'. He stepped inside and sat on her bed as he always did. “Kagome, we need to go after Naraku,” he stated simply.

 

She sighed, “Look Inuyasha, this isn't up for discussion anymore. I have to finish school.”

 

“Why?” he asked.

 

“Do you really want to know? Do you even think you could understand?” she snapped at him. His ears flattened against his head but he only nodded to her. “Fine,” she said giving in, “high school is important in this time, like learning how to provide for your family in yours. If I don't finish I would disgrace my family and myself and they do not deserve that. Do you get it now?”

 

He pondered her words for a moment. He could understand being honor-bound to do something. And he knew learning to provide for one family and one's self is a skill anyone must have. He wasn't sure how school could teach someone something like that. And he didn't want her family to be disgraced, they were nice and Kagome didn't really belong in his time after all. He nodded again, “I understand. How long will it take?”

 

“A month and a half tomorrow,” she replied. The silence dragged on and Kagome could tell that Inuyasha would leave soon if she didn't stop him. “So why did you really come Inuyasha? We talked about all of this before I left,” she asked a smirk coming over her face slightly as Inuyasha looked down into his lap, in an effort to hide his blush in his hair.

 

“Well, Shippo wanted to know how you were doing. He wants you to come back and visit him he says.” Inuyasha could tell something was up with Kagome, she was in a strange mood. She had become so different. Sometimes she didn't make sense while others she was just moody. He had asked her mom about it once but she had only said the Kagome was a `rebellious teenager', whatever that means.

 

“Oh, I see,” she said sarcastically as she turned to radio. “Well, Inuyasha if that is all you came to talk to me about are you leaving? Or was there something else you wanted?” she asked seductively turning on a track called Come On. She was through with right and wrong, she was through with subtlety.

He had heard the tone in her voice as she had questioned him seductively. He had to leave before something happened they would regret. He was stopped dead in his track by the look in her eye and the lyrics of the song she had put on. His breath hitched in his throat as she came up to him placing her hands on his chest only to let them slowly drift down his body and grasp him through his haori.

Kagome pushed him back down on the bed and crawled into his lap straddling him. She smiled at his confused expression as she brought her mouth forcefully upon his, demanding access to his mouth. He had been caught off guard as she grasped him and he realized her intentions, Kagome wanted to mate with him...now. He was already faintly able to smell her arousal and it only increased his trance like state. He couldn't believe how forward she was being and it felt wonderful. He could feel her hips grinding against his as she kissed him passionately.

Inuyasha fought to snap out of his daze, only to find himself returning Kagome's kiss in kind. He desperately grasped her arms and lifted her away from him as they came up for air. “Kagome, we can't. You know the reasons better than anyone does. It wouldn't be right. I don't want to do that to you Kagome,” he said sadly.

He knew she was beautiful. She could have any guy she wanted. She would be a fool to waste herself on a worthless half-breed like himself. Especially when she didn't even belong to the same time period he did. He sometimes secretly wished he could give in and be with her. She had made it clear how she felt about him and then just gave him his space and didn't mention it again. He was so tempted. He could tell she wanted him, her scent was rapidly filling the room. He hoped and prayed that she would move so he could go before he lost his control.

Kagome wasn't going to let him get away that easily. She smiled sweetly at him and he released his hold on her wrists, thinking she had come to her senses at last. Kagome brought her right hand up to stroke his velvety ear as she pretended to be getting up only to grind her hips against his forcefully when her hand reached his ear and he leaned into it. An unconscious groan escaped his lips and Kagome smiled as she brought her lips down on his exposed neck, sucking and gently biting at his tender skin.

He snarled as he flipped on top of her and began to nuzzle her neck. He licked and sucked at her flesh eliciting moans and whimpers. He brought his hands to her breasts as he kneaded them their bodies grinding together in frustration. She was breathing heavily when Inuyasha suddenly got off her, pulling her to her feet. He was too close. He had almost lost control and he needed to leave now. He placed her on her feet and turned to look at her. “Kagome, you need to stop. I need to go. It's what's best.”

“Inuyasha, Wait!” she exclaimed as he turned to leave. He turned around to face her, not wanting to make things worse between them by just leaving. “Shouldn't I have a say in that?” she asked, kissing him again, clinging to him for dear life afraid to lose the moment. When the kiss ended she looked him in the eye and she pulled off her shirt and bra then unbuckled her skirt and let it fall to the floor at her feet. Wearing nothing else but her underwear and fishnet stockings she asked him, “don't you want me Inuyasha?”

 

“Of course,” he replied looking away, “but...”

 

“No buts Inuyasha. No strings attached. I want to be with you tonight, I need you.

Inuyasha growled as he strode over to Kagome and pinned her to the bed under him. He could take no more! Her scent, her teasing, her pleading, he just couldn't help it he wanted her too bad. He made short work of her panties as he removed his clothing. He was kissing her with reckless abandon. He nipped and scraped her neck as he kissed and sucked it. He rolled her nipples between his fingers as she writhed on the bed underneath him, just as she had imagined. She gasped as his one of his hands moved to tease her clit, his mouth replacing it at her breast his tongue swirling over her nipple. She moaned and panted as she tumbled over the edge into her first orgasm, a sign of his name passing he lips only spurring him on.

 

She rolled on top of him and slowly moved her hand to his manhood as she shifted. He watched as she moved lower unsure of what she was going to do. They lay there spent and exhausted. All the sexual tension that had been building between them for the last three years had finally had a chance to be released. They weren't sure what would happen tomorrow and they really didn't want to think about it. They silently made their way to the bathroom in Kagome's unstained sheets and got cleaned up. They returned to Kagome's room and got dressed as she changed her bedclothes throwing the old ones out. Inuyasha went to leave but was grabbed by Kagome who buried herself in his haori and begged him to stay with her tonight. He nodded and stepped into bed with her. Inuyasha reached down and pulled Kagome's covers up over them before pulling Kagome closer to him and kissing her neck before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

 

Kagome didn't want him to leave after what they had just done. So she grabbed Inuyasha's wrist as he went to leave and flung herself into his haori begging him to stay the night with her. He nodded and she smiled at him giving him a quick kiss before climbing into bed. Inuyasha got in after her and pulled the covers up, bringing her closer to him as he settled down and kissed her neck before closing his eyes. She sighed as she leaned back into him. She was happy it had finally happened but she was worried about what the future would bring. But she shrugged it off deciding that neither of them could know that until tomorrow so she should get some rest. And she closed her eyes falling into the first peaceful night's dreams in many, many months.
