Chapter One: Setting an Appointment

Sesshomaru sat completely still in his seat while his father rambles on about his lack of emotion. The one emotion he was showing at the moment was actually how he felt. Bored. He was completely bored. He was just thinking about leaving and going back to his office when his father said, "You have to go to a psychiatrist."

"I will do no such thing," he stated simply with a cold, calm stare and voice. It would intimidate most, but not his father.

"Yes, you will. Unless, of course, you wish to loose your job," he said in the same intimidating measure as his son.

"I will not loose my job."

"If I fire you, you will." He recieved no response so he continued. "I will set an appointment for you as soon as possible. I will tell you when and where it is, and you better be there."

Sesshomaru left without a word. Both of them knew he would. But they both also knew this probably wouldn't help. Sesshomaru isn't one to give in, so he'll probably just sit there until his time was done.

Inutashio watched as his son left the room. He picked up the phonebook and looked for a good place to go. He picked on, and dialed the number on the cordless phone for that room and waited.

"Higurashi Kagome's office," a soft female voice answered after a few rings.

He raised an eyebrow before answering. "I would like to speak with Higurashi-san."

"Speaking. What can I do for you, sir?"

"I would like to set an appointment for my son."

"Okay. You can up here with your son around 8 am tomorrow to fill out some paperwork and answer a few questions. Will that be okay?"

"Hai. We'll be there."

"Okay. May I get your name?"

"Onitaka Inutashio."

"Your sons name?"

"Onitaka Sesshomaru."

"Thank you. Good-bye."

"Good-bye." Inutashio hung up and placed the phone back down. 'She sounded rather young,' he thought. 'I'll need to tell Sesshomaru.' He got and started walking to where he knew his eldest son to be.
With Kagome >>>>

Kagome put down the phone and finished typing in the names. Those names sounded familiar. 'Oh well,' she thought. 'I'll see them tomorrow. Now it's time to go to Ray's.'

Kagome got her purse and pulled on her coat; she looked around one more time to make sure she didn't forget anything. She didn't, so she locked the door and left.

She got in her black SUV and drove home. There was no way she was going to Ray's looking like this. When she got there she parked in the garage, and then went inside.

She changed from her tan pants suit into tight black jeans and a red shirt that said on the front: Only 90% Angel, and on the back: Want To Know The Other 10%? in black shiny letters. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a different pair of keys.

A couple seconds later she was speeding down the street in a black mustang convertable with the top down and her hair flying. She drove straight to a bar called Ray's.

Outside were parked sveral motorcycles and a few cars. The building was made of black brick, and above the entance big bright red letters said Ray's.

Kagome walked in, waving to the bouncer as she went. He smiled brightly at her and waved back. His name is Kouga. She knew he was a wolf demon, for she had tried to kill him the first time they met. The reason for that was she hunted and killed many demons. As well as befriended some. Kouga and her are friends. Though only two weeks ago she got him to stop calling her his 'woman.'

Kagome walked through a thick metal door and heard the blasting music. The DJ, Houshii Miroku, spotted her and waved with a suggestive smile. She smiled and waved back, and shook her head no. Miroku pouted. He was a lech, but a good friend and a strong fighter. Then he spotted another girl at the bar and did the same. He pouted again. Seeing that he was turned down again, she walked over to the girl.

She waved as she approached and recieved a smile and a wave back. Kagome's best friend and partener, Taijiya Sango. They had been friends since middle school. They knew everything about each other. When one wouldn't admit something or lied, the other knew the truth.

"Hey Kag!" Sango said as Kagome sat down.

"Hey." Kagome said with a sigh.

"Tough day at work?"

"You could say that. I got a new girl. Her parents sent her cause they thought she might be loosing it. They seem to think she gets depressed all the time."

"That all?"

"Nope. Tomorrow I have a possible newbie."

"Morning?"

"Yeah. So?"

"We're checking out the building, remember?"

"Oops, I forgot! What am I going to do now?"

"Find someone to ask the questions."

"But who?" She thought for a moment. "Naoki probably could. She has an appointment, too."

"Who?" Sango asked,bewildered.

"The new girl."

"I guess that'll work. Call and ask. Just tell her you'll be late."

"Okay." Kagome dug in her purse and took out her cell phone. She searched through her numbers, selected the correct one, and waited.

"Hello?" a girl most likly in her teens said cheerfully. There was lots of laughing and talking in the backround.

"Hello. May I speak with Naoki?"

"Sure. Hold on. NAOKIIIIIIIIIII! PHONE CALL!" the girl yelled.

"I'M RIGHT HERE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" Naoki's voice yelled back. "You've had too much pocky," the voice said, getting closer.

"MY POCKY!"

Naoki sighed. "Thanks, Emi. Hello?"

"Hello, Naoki. This is Kagome."

"Kagome-san!" The backround got quiet. "Why did you call?"

"Tomorrow I'm going to be running ver late. I have some people coming in to do some paperwork and answer some questions though. Can you take over for me?"

"Love to. What do I ask?"

"I'll bring by the questions in the morning. They'll be on my desk. When they arrive, tell them I had some imporatant thing pop-up."

"Okay. Well, I gotta go. We're in the middle of Truth or Dare." Naoki snickered. "And it's my turn to dare."

"Okay. Ja ne."

"Ja ne!"

Kagome put her phone back in her purse. "She'll do it."

"Thought so."

"I wanted to meet them though."

"Well, I'm sure that girl Naoki will give you all the info you want. Probably in detail."

"Thanks, Sango. Your the best."

"I know. Now, let's get some drinks." Just as she said that the bartender came their way.. He's Inuyasha. Ususally stubborn, arrogent, rude, obnxious, and almost anything else ing that category. But they had both seen his sweet side. He just has this big bad tough guy act. Kagome had gone a few dates with him though, five years ago in High School. They even went steady. But now they were just best friends. 'Even though I still love him,' she thought sadly. But she worked a real smile after thinking about their old time together.

"Hey. Whatcha want?" he asked rudely. Both ignored it.

"My ususal," Kagome said, still smiling.

"Same here," Sango said.

"Keh, should of known." He stalked off to get the drinks.

"Will he ever stop being so rude?" Kagome voiced her thought.

"Doubt it," Sango replied. Inuyasha came back with the drinks and both girld said sweetly, "Thanks Inu." He scowled and walked away.

Kagome and Sango quickly downed their drinks. Afterwards, they walked over to the pool table to play a few rounds. It was ritual. They would do this almost every night.

About two hours later, Inuyasha came over with refills. Though this time he had on a smile. "What are so happy about?" Sango asked.

"My brother." Both gawked at him.

"I thought you hated your brother," Kagome said.

"I do."

"So it must be something bad for him..." Sango said.

"What happened?" Kagome asked curiously. Inuyasha smiled wider, glanced at Kagome, then laughed as he left. "I wonder what that was about.

"No idea."

"Let's go," Kagome said after they had downed their second drinks.

"Ja ne." They said and walked towards their separt cars. Kagome got in hers and drove slowly home. More like she drove the speed limit this time. Then her cell rang. "Wonder who it could be," she said while looking at the caller ID. It didn't look familiar. "Hello?"

"Hey, Kagome-san. It's Naoki."

"Oh. What did you call for?"

"Tomorrow can I bring a few friends."

"Why?"

"They're spending the night tonight and tomorrow night. I just wanted to see if they could come with me. They won't cause any trouble. I promise."

Kagome suddenly had images of Naoki and her friends tearing up her office. She shook her head to clear it. "I guess so. Just behave. Be polite to them. Okay?"

"Okay. All of us will."

"Good. See you tomorrow. Ja ne."

"Ja ne."

Kagome put her cell phone up once again. 'I hope they do behave...' she thought as she entered her house and to bed.
