Chapter 5

As they walked down what seemed to be kagome's plank, the guest stood in amazement. Everybody gasped. A few people were crying and another coughed. Souta looked wide eyed. "She's Beautiful," said her mom. When they finally reached the alter the priest began.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. This is my first time performing an American wedding and I am not sure exactly what all of the traditions are. So here today I will give you a brief summary of what I decided we are to do. Please try to understand that I am basing this off of rumors. We will start off by me asking if they take each other in holy matrimony, and there response will be the placement of the rings. Then they will give the vows that they wrote for each other."

Oh no! Kagome thought I didn't write mine! Its not like I have anything to say anyway.

"Lets begin. Do you take this woman to be yours forever, to look after and care for till death?"

Please don't! She closed her eyes in fear that the ring would slip on. It did! No…

He turned to kagome who still had not raised her head nor opened her eyes and had begun to cry. "Do you take this man to be yours forever, to look after and care for till death?" Her hands shuck as she slowly slid the ring on, her eyes closed as tight as she could get them, thinking that if she doesn't see it, it isn't happening. "Ok will you please say your vows?" He turned to the groom, who had placed his hand on her face and brought her up to look him in the eyes.

"I promise to always protect you." Kagome gasped as she looked into inu yasha's eyes.

But how? Inu…oh who cares! She just stared at him in relief and total bliss, not knowing what to say.

"kagome, the priest said, he glanced at her tell her with his eyes that it was her turn. She said nothing. There was a long pause, "umm…I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride"

…and he did…

They turned and ran down the isle not taking their eyes off each other. They entered the house and ran up to her bedroom. She turned and stared at him in disbelief.

"inu yasha how?" she asked.

He blushed "I wasn't about to give you up."

"But…what about the shrine and the well?'

"Something tells me that everything will be ok" he smiled as he wrapped his arms around her. He thinks back…

-flashback of when we went into the kitchen and talked to Gentu-

"I need your help with something. You know kagome better than anybody."

"Ok" he said sitting on the ground with his legs and arms crossed leaning up against the wall.

"Here! Put this on." He handed inu yasha a tux. Inu yasha looked at him confused as ever. "My question is would she like the white or the red better" he hold up a White rose in one hand and a red rose in the other.

Inu Yasha stood up angry. He wants me to be in the wedding? How dare he! He knows what this is doing to us. "I don't know what you are thinking but im not putting this on!" he screams.

"Inu Yasha!" he said calmly with a smile. "I talked to my parents. I made a deal with them, if I take over the family business than I don't have to marry kagome." Inu yasha eyes became huge after hearing this. "But they had already paid for all of the arrangements and felt bad for leaving kagome with a broken heart." He gives out a slight giggle. "I told them that I will take care of it, and that they should keep the money for the shrine as a wedding gift, and to say sorry for the rejection."

"Then…" Inu yasha began. His eyes were wide and full of suspense over what he thought Gentu would say next.

"It be a shame to waist all of the money put into this." He handed a small box to inu yasha who opened it. It was the wedding ring, "your names are engraved in it." He said "take care of her."
