Chapter 1: the name game
I awake to the dewy, musky, smell of the forest. I open my eyes to darkness; it takes a while for me to figure out where I am. I hear the sound of dripping water and my own breathing. I see light in front of me, with a jolt I figure out that I'm in a cave. It is then that I realize what happened to me. Along with my new found memories is a massive, skull splitting headache.
“I see you're awake.”
I sit up only to have a red haze come to my eyes. I can still tell that it's the guy I saw before. He's slouching against the clave with his arms crossed with an intense look face.
“What the hell did you do to me? Why does my head hurt so much?” I ask breathing hard.
He starts to walk towards me, “You shouldn't move.”
“That's not what I asked! WHAT DID U DO TO ME!?!?” The pain becomes unbearable.
“I didn't do anything to you. You really shouldn't talk it'll only make it worse. I'm trying to help you. I'll tell you more later but you need to rest. I promise I won't hurt you.” He says, gently picking me up. I have not the energy to fight him.
He sits down on the side of the cave and holds me.
“Why should I………trust……..you I don't even know you.” I say in between gasps. I'm starting to fall in and out of reality.
“Because I'm the only one you have right now, the only one who can protect you. There are demons looking for you. You're safest with me.” He says cradling my in his arms. I don't have the strength to fight anymore. I give in to him.
He chuckles, “besides who would keep you warm?”

I opened my eyes to the darkness of the cave. During my restless slumber, I must've moved because I found myself lying on my side.
That I could handle, what I couldn't handle was the fact that No Name's body was molded to the shape of my back.
One arm was under my head, giving me a warm-like pillow; the other was holding me across the waist. The fact that this position feels really nice crosses my mind, but I push it away before it has time to fester.
I start to pull away, but stop as No Name moves closer to me in his sleep. I really should find out his name. Again I shift, and again he moves; burying his face in my hair, breathing in my essence. His arm tightens around my waist, hugging me even closer than before.
Asleep I don't think he was thinking about who he was lying next to and if he did know, I was in no mood to find out. Trying not to wake him, I slipped out of his arms, abandoning the warmth he gave me, and made my way to the entrance of the cave. As I was making my way out I stepped on a twig, wincing at the sound of the echoing snap. I glanced back to see that his eyes were open, watching me wryly.
“Morning. You know…..your backside looks rather nice when sneaking.” He said, a faint accent registering in my ears. He stood and stretched.
“Well you can kiss this sneaky ass!” I replied, blushing. “I'm leaving!” I started to leave. He chuckled and grabbed my arm, I snatched it away, walked right up to him, and slapped him, hard I might add, across the face. The second I did it I regretted it. I just sentenced myself to death. I really shouldn't be so impulsive. He wasn't laughing anymore. I waited for the end to come. It didn't.
“I apologize.” I was shocked to say the least. “I have a weird sense of humor in the morning.” He murmured, rubbing his now red face. He changed the subject.
“I see your feeling better.” No Name commented.
“Yeah.” I had other things on my mind. “What's your name?” I asked, looking at him closely, trying to gauge his reaction. His face became solemn.
“………” No answer. His pale face looked guarded. I put my hands on my hips, his now chilly eyes followed the movement.
“Well” I was getting impatient. I should probably consider the fact that for all I know he could be a mass murderer of a rapist. Know that I think about it Dani did one tell me that the hot ones are the ones you should watch out for. I should've left when I had the chance. My dumb self had to get pissed of and annoy the man. I'm about to die and I didn-
“My name is Sess.” I jumped. I noticed he wasn't looking at me. He was lying.
“Sess? That's all? There's more right?” This was like coaxing a baby away from candy, but I wasn't about to give up, we were finally getting somewhere.
He sighed in resignation; I guess he realized I wasn't giving up. He looked at me and said so quietly, I could hardly hear,
“Sesshomaru. My name is Sesshomaru.”
