Prologue
I'm walking through the shadowed forest, trying to seek the voice that's calling to me. It's like walking though a dream chasing something that couldn't be caught. I stop and listen, straining to hear the voice when I hear a faint rustling that I can't quite pinpoint. As if my body is made of lead, I slowly start to back away with fear, planning to run away. In the back of my mind I think,
“Why didn't I do this in the first place??”
As (bad) luck would have it I hit a root, lose my balance, and fall backwards onto a surprisingly warm surface. This surface has hands that reach up to catch me around the waist and chest. Warm minty air caresses my ear and a deep throaty voice (different from the one I heard mind you) whispers,
“Don't move. I won't hurt you. Just don't move.”
As you can guess I do what he says and he slowly relaxes his grip and turns me around.
A god is all that came to mind when I saw his face. He has long jet black hair, winter green eyes that reflect everything, lips to die for, and a surprisingly pale face. Saying he's gorgeous would be an understatement. I was brought out of my stupor when he said,
“Thanks….”
I then realized that his unusually soft voice was directed at me. I also took in the fact that his arms were still wrapped around me and that he had a strange look on his face. With that I proceeded to faint.
