Here comes chapter 6.
******************************
Kagome blinked her eyes for the last time. She gave in and accepted her fate.
“I hope Kagome is alright.” Sango said, `I feel that this is my fault. She was trying to tell me something and I just completely blacked out on her. I imagined Miroku while she was trying to tell me she had feelings for me. Does that mean I love Miroku?'
“There!” shouted Shippo. They all stopped suddenly as a giant spider demon charged at Kagome.
*******************************
“Someone's in trouble, should we go help?” Onekan looked at Crickett waiting for his reply. He nodded. It couldn't, hurt could it? He had the speed in case they needed to flee and both she and Crickett were strong. She had her bow, sling and sword as her defense, not forgetting her claws as a final stand. Crickett was swift even though he was large; he could grind rocks into powder with the force from his front hooves. Imagine what that could do to the skull of even the strongest demons.
She grabbed her gear and leapt onto Crickett's back. He was already in mid-stride by time she situated herself on his back correctly.
`I sense there are others here as well.' Crickett said as Onekan gathered her senses and righted herself.
“Mmm hmm.” She responded.
They barged in as the spider demon started to charge at a girl that was lying under a tree, unconscious.
**********
The spider was upon her now. Pulling its sickle-like limb back to get maximum power for the blow. Sango threw her hiraikotsu at the demon; its armored legs deflected it. She retrieved it and hurled it again. Tears streaming down her cheeks as she gave everything she had to save her friend. She threw it again; this time it landed on the side of the demon's head. The spider demon merely swatted it away; it had no time for such games when there are Shikon shards to collect. Inuyasha flung pieces fallen trees at the demon having the same affect as Sango's boomerang.
“It's too strong, do you think it has the shards that Kagome possesses?” Miroku asked.
“It better not, just get it off her path. Or better yet get Kagome out of the way.” Inuyasha grunted as he launched another fallen branch at the demon.
The demon was seething with hunger for greater power and refused to be thwarted by these little humans. It was upon the girl with the jewel he desired.
Inuyasha yells as he runs to the demon, leaping on to the demon as high as he can and climbing higher onto it. He targeted its back or anything that would pull its attention from Kagome. He could smell her blood now and it drove him crazy.
“YOU BASTARD!” he bellowed as he plunged his sword into the demon's back. The demon raged with pain. It deterred him from getting to Kagome temporarily. One of the spider's long legs swatted at him and knocked Inuyasha off its back. He fell to the ground but landed on his feet. Inuyasha went right back to climbing the demon's leg. It flipped itself on its back to squish Inuyasha. He was able to remove his sword and jump to safety before it got him. The spider righted itself and went back to Kagome.
He screamed in anger, as his victim was gone.
“Miroku, can you use your wind tunnel?” Sango asked. He thought a moment and looked.
“It might be too big. I don't know if I can handle that much of a demon at once.” He said disheartened.
Inuyasha faced the demon head on and stood his ground.
“Why don't you pick on someone your own size, you pile of ash!” Inuyasha taunted.
The demon hissed wildly and bore down on Inuyasha. He leapt up trying to meet the head of the spider demon and send his sword straight through it. The spider demon lashed out with one of its many legs and caught Inuyasha. It spun a web and around him trapping him. The demon then injected Inuyasha with a great deal of poison. He dropped his sword and went limp in the cocoon the spider spun around his body.
Miroku used his sutras to paralyze the demon. Or at least slow him down. He help up two slips of paper and charged them. They flew towards the demon, one landed on a leg, immobilizing the demon's it, the other attaching itself to its back.
The spider started to drag its leg; the sutras were not strong enough to hold it. It used Inuyasha's body to wipe the sutra off its back. It shed its immobilized leg.
With awe and wonder, Shippo was the only one with the ability to see the flash of green and black blaze past the spider demon and snatch up Kagome.

“That's the girl I saw in the river tonight.” Onekan gasped. “I have to help her.” Crickett agreed fully with her.
`How do you wish to go about it? You are the huntress and I am not. I leave those tactics to your discretion, friend.'
“Get me as close as you can but don't stop running. Circle the spider and I'll shoot it with my arrows, I'll see if I can distract it from the girl.” Onekan readied her bow and arrow. She nodded to Crickett giving him the `ok'. They accelerated towards the spider demon that was in full pursuit of the woman who lay unconscious after landing into the tree and falling to the ground hard.
“Follow my signals if you can.” Onekan urged him on. Crickett obliged.
She wiggled her left foot against his side, signaling she needed him to get closer to the demon; he turned left. That's when she noticed that Inuyasha and the others were there trying to distract the demon. She made a quick decision and turned back.
“Let's get the girl out of the way first. It won't be able to catch us while they are distracting it.” Onekan nudged Crickett with her right foot and he changed directions in the blink of an eye.
Onekan moved higher up on Crickett's neck. He lowered her down so that when they passed Kagome, they could scoop her up and not stop running.
“Circle around and come up behind the others. She'll be out of his range then.” Crickett agreed and they made a long turn heading behind the group. Onekan pulled Kagome in front of her and slid down Crickett's neck to rest above his withers. She placed Kagome in front of her sitting her up. She was afraid that she might crush the girl's ribs had she left her dangling across his back.
The spider demon sensed another jewel shard enter the picture and grow stronger since it was close to the shards in Kagome's bottle. After injecting this particularly annoying human, the demon took off after Crickett and Onekan leaving Sango, Miroku and Shippo to chase after.

As Crickett pounded away at the ground, he could feel the spider demon gaining on them. It is much faster than they had expected. Even with Crickett's exceptionally fast pace, they were blurs across the land. This spider demon was determined to catch them though.
`I have under estimated the abilities of this demon.' Crickett admitted. Onekan chanced a glance behind them. She couldn't see it, but she could hear it. She noticed that tangled in its web, was the black haired man she'd seen moments ago. He was unconscious and hanging lifelessly close to the ground.
“The cliff, take it to the cliff!” She guided Crickett to the cliff and explained her plan to him. He did not see any other way to do it.
When they reached the lip of the cliff, they spun around and waited for the spider to emerge from the forest. It doubled its efforts and increased its speed.
`Are you ready Oniie? No looking back now.' Crickett held his ground until the last possible moment.
“Just a little more, just a little more. C'mon, almost. Go!” Crickett shot forward like a bullet in the direction of the spider demon. The demon grinned and charged forward.
Onekan readied her bow and arrow. She steadied it, aiming at the monster's head. They closed the distance between them charging each other unflinching.
“C'mon you piece of shit. Make it worth my while. Give me something to hit, asshole.” Onekan waited until she could see the largest of its eyes. Poised and ready to fire, Onekan jumped on the one chance she would probably get.
The arrow made its mark. The spider demon wailed in anger and pain. It stumbled and slowed tremendously.
Without a moment's hesitation, she leapt from Crickett's back, he immediately slowed down because the other girl was still with him and she would fall without balancing herself at such high speeds.
While in mid-flight, Onekan unsheathed her sword. She landed on the demon's back right behind its head. She turned around, with precision reflexes, she grasped her sword with both hands, raising it above her head in a sacrificial manner. She plunged the sword into the neck of the demon severing the main cord of nerves the connected the brain to the body. The spider demon went limp and crashed into the earth. Onekan was already making her way to the cocoon still attached to the spider demon. She used one of the spider's legs as a slide and slid down to get to the male human. She performed spectacular aerial stunts and snatched the cocoon up. She had to use her sword to cut through the webbing and free it when it snagged on the underside of the demon. When she had her package, she leapt into the nearest tree while the demon's body slid over the edge of the cliff.
She whistled and Crickett emerged from the trees. He stepped cautiously across the damaged earth the spider went across making sure his current rider did not fall.
Onekan landed gracefully in the dirt. She placed the cocooned body next to her and began cutting away at the web that encased him. What she saw shocked her.
************
“What do you think happened to Kagome?” Miroku asked as they searched through the woods. Shippo was again the ears, nose and eyes of the group. He hopped along the ground trying to pick up any trace of Kagome or Inuyasha.
“I don't know.” Sango replied. She stressed out from the battle they had and the fact that they could not find Kagome. It was as if she vanished in thin air or something. They went to where Kagome had fallen but she was nowhere around. They followed the spider demon's trail of webbing.
“I know what happened to her,” Shippo said. “Something grabbed her up. I could smell peaches but I didn't see who or what it was. The top half was green and the bottom half was black. It was a blur.” They kept on going, hoping to come across something that would tell them where their friends were and what happened to them.
**************
Onekan pulled away the webbing around the face of the demon she rescued. Except, this wasn't the same demon she saw earlier tonight. The face was the same but this was a human. His scent, she caught was different. He smelled like a human, and he did not have the scent of the demon she saw earlier. His hair was black; he had no ears like hers. Just human. She was saddened by the fact that he was not the one she thought he was, she would still have saved him regardless, but she was hoping to see the demon whose scent had such an effect on her.
While Onekan inspected the humans for injuries, she came across a bite wound on the male's shoulder. A green substance was oozing out. She sniffed it.
“He's been bitten by that spider and injected with its poison.” She told Crickett. The only way she knew to remove poison was to make the incision larger and suck it out. “But with the time that's gone by, there is no doubt it has circulated throughout his entire body by now.” Crickett bowed his head.
On the female, Onekan noticed a rather large, angry looking lump and part of her skull had been fractured, she had several broken ribs, and bruises all over her body. Onekan bandaged them up with strips of their own clothing and she spilt her pelt into two pieces and covered the two they rescued, with it. They would be lucky to make it through the night.
Onekan and Crickett took turns watching them through the rest of the night. Crickett took first vigil and should one of them stir or wake, he was to alert Onekan. She thanked him and rested her head against his chest.
