Chapter 3

Explanations

"I've never seen or heard of those things before." Sango said.

"Me neither." Miroku said. "It might be new. He said he was given power as long as he killed Kagome."

"Who would want her dead?" Sango asked. "Wouldn't they want the jewel instead?"

"I don't know but nothing is going to happen to her. I finally have a family and no one is going to change that." Inuyasha growled.

"We know Inuyasha. I hope we find Sesshomaru soon." Miroku said.

"What do we do about the kids? They are going to want to know a lot of stuff. Especially Inuki. He's just like Inuyasha." Sango sighed. "I bet Inuyasha acted the same way when he was little." Her and Miroku laughed.

"Oi, I was not." Inuyasha said. "I can't help it if Inuki's all hyper all the time. He gets that from Kagome." Inuyasha said.

"I have to agree. He seems to have Kagome's spirit." Miroku said.

"For someone who's a quarter youkai he sure has a lot of power." Sango said. "His hearing and smelling is just as good as Inuyasha's."

"It is because Inuyasha-sama has mated with Kagome-sama." A voice said.

"Myoga-jiji, where the hell have you been?" Inuyasha growled.

"No where I was simply doing my duty as your humble servant." Myoga said.

"What is your duty?" Sango asked.

"Well…uh…I." Myoga stuttered.

"That's what I thought. You were probably just being lazy." Inuyasha said.

"What were you saying about mating with Kagome?" Miroku asked. Sango hit him on the head. "Itai, Sango I was just saying for him to continue what he was saying. I didn't mean for it to sound that way."

"As I was saying. Kagome-sama is a very powerful miko. Since Inuyasha-sama has mated with her he has gotten more powerful. It's only natural that they have powerful offspring as well." Myoga said.

"Does that mean he has the strength of a hanyou?" Kagome asked.

"How long have you been up?" Inuyasha asked.

"Since you started yelling at him." Kagome said.

"I'm pretty sure he does. Since he is male he gets a kind of extra power since you're a miko. If you were to have a girl she would probably have the strength of a quarter youkai but also have some miko abilities." Myoga said.

"Really?" Sango asked.

"I think." Myoga scratched his head. "I have never heard of anyone ever being in Inuyasha-sama and Kagome-sama's situation."

"So you were just pulling our legs eh?" Inuyasha asked. He picked Myoga up by the head. "I should squish you right now."

"No wait! I know where your brother is." Myoga said quickly.

"Why didn't you say something earlier?" Inuyasha yelled.

"Baka he was telling us about Inuki." Kagome said.

"Did you call me?" Inuki jumped on Kagome. Shippo followed suit. He jumped on Inuyasha's head and landed in Kagome's lap.

"Oi, what did I tell you about jumping around on her like that?" Inuyasha yelled. "Shippo you know better than to jump on my head."

Kagome rubbed his ear. He relaxed. He shoulders slumped and he growled in content. She always knew how to calm him down. "We were just discussing something." Kagome said.

Kohaku and Reiha ran up to the group. Kohaku sat next to Sango and Reiha sat in her lap. "You always get to places before we do. It's not fair." Reiha pouted.

"Are you going to tell us about the fight?" Inuki asked. "You said you would tell us later."

"After Kagome takes a nap." Inuyasha said.

"Can't you tell us Otou-san?" Inuki asked.

"I want to hear too." Shippo said.

"You already know." Inuyasha said.

"Doesn't mean I don't want to hear it again." Shippo crossed his arms.

"It's all right Inuyasha. I'll just go to bed early tonight." Kagome said. She looked down at her kids. "What do you want to know? One question at a time."

"What did you fight?" Inuki asked.

"We don't know." Inuyasha said.

"How did you learn to fight like that?" Reiha asked.

"Well I was a trained warrior. He's a monk." Sango pointed to Miroku. "Inuyasha taught himself and Kagome is a miko. Kohaku can fight really good too but we needed him to stay by you kids." Sango said.

"You're a miko Okaa-san?" Inuki asked. "What kind of things can you do?"

"Um I can heal and create shields and arrows and throw energy around." She said. "A few other things too."

"Where'd you get that?" Inuki asked Inuyasha. He was poking at tetsusaiga.

"I've had this. It's to protect my mate and pups." Inuyasha said.

"What's the Shikon thingy that guy was talking about?" Reiha asked.

"The Shikon no Tama." Kagome said. "It's a jewel that brings destruction." That's all Kagome thought it brought, unhappiness and death.

"Who has it?" Inuki asked.

"I do." Kagome said. "Don't bother remembering anything about the jewel. I'm going to find a way to destroy it."

"Is that even possible?" Sango whispered. "Kikyo took it with her to the other world and it found it's way back in you."

"I don't know but I'm tired of it hurting people." Kagome said. "The jewel is nothing but trouble and has cost many innocent people their lives."

Everyone sat in silence. The kids didn't know why the adults were so quiet. They were too young to understand, except Shippo but he was there and saw first hand what happened.

The jewel should be destroyed. Everyone thought it should never have been created. It brings nothing but sorrow. Even if Kagome purified it, it could still be tainted with evil. Nothing with that much power should exist in a world that knows nothing but destruction and pain.

"We should all go to sleep." Miroku said. Reiha yawned. "We need to get an early start since we know where Sesshomaru is."

"Where is he Myoga?" Inuyasha asked.

"He is about a day or two away. Depends on how fast he travels. Can't be that far since he has that human with him." Myoga said.

"Rin still travels with him?" Kagome asked.

"Lets go to sleep. Bouzo's right, we need to get an early start." Inuyasha said. "You, Myoga had better be here when we all wake up."

"Hai, Inuyasha-sama." Myoga said. Who knew what Inuyasha would do if he were to leave?

Everyone got ready to go to sleep. They all laid down. Inuki and Reiha were excited to sleep under the stars. It would be their first outdoor camping. It would be their first time being that far from the village. The only time they left was so they could go to the well.

One by one every one fell asleep. Inuyasha was the last one to sleep as usual. He kept his ears and nose open for anything that would harm his family and friends. Satisfied that they were safe he drifted off into a light sleep.

The group was following a trail Myoga had told them Sesshomaru was traveling on. They had woken up early that morning and headed out. Myoga had left right after he told them what he needed to. He probably thought it wasn't safe so he decided to run away again.

Inuyasha could tell they were getting close. He was starting to smell his scent. It got stronger with each step they took. He could also smell that nasty toad thing and the human girl he traveled with.

Inuki, Shippo, and Reiha sang a song as they walked. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" They sang over and over.

"Dammit Kagome why did you teach them that song?" Inuyasha yelled.

"Sit. How many times did I tell you to watch your mouth? Inuki copies your every move I don't want him cussing too." Kagome crossed her arms over her chest. "One Inuyasha is enough."

"Oi, what do you mean by that?" Inuyasha started getting up only to be pushed back onto the ground when the kids dog piled him. "Kagome." He yelled.

"I told you to watch your mouth." Kagome giggled.

"When are you going to take this fu…this thing off?" He asked.

Kagome smiled when he prevented the bad word from coming out of his mouth. "I don't know. You're a lot stronger than me so I think the rosary kind of evens things out a bit don't you?"

"No. I want it off." Inuyasha yelled.

"Maybe later." Kagome laughed. Inuyasha was about to chase after her. He sniffed. Sesshomaru's scent was a lot closer than it had been a while ago. In front of them all stood Sesshomaru and Rin.
