Little Kagome looked at the man before her, he was the greatest man ever! He was her daddy,
“Daddy, when will you be back?” Asked little Kagome, with a tug of her father’s pants,
“In 10 months.” Said her father, then scooped her up in his arms,
“Is that long?” Asked little Kagome,
“Sometime’s it can be, but other time it doesn’t seemed to be.” Said her father,
“Love you, daddy.” Said little Kagome, then giggled as her father tickled her,
“Love you too, little one.” Said her father lovingly,
“I’ll be big. I have to be, for my little brother.” Said little Kagome with a puff of her chest,
“You protect him with all your might.” Said her father with a hug,
“Just as you have with us?” Asked little Kagome,
“Yes, just like me.” Said her father, then hugged her tighter, he would miss her so much, so much,
“I will be waiting daddy.” Said Kagome, then kissed him on the cheek.

Little Kagome waited and counted off the day until her father would be back. She couldn’t wait to see him and tell him everything, from her boo boo’s to her art. She couldn’t wait to see him.

June had rolled around and it was Kagome’s birthday,
“Happy birthday, baby girl.” said her father over the phone,
“I miss you, daddy.” Said little Kagome,
“I’ll be home soon.” Said her father, letting the tears fall, he couldn’t wait to see his family again, to see the face of his love and the hear the laughter of his daughter,
“I hope.” Said little Kagome, hugging the phone to her, she wanted her daddy, she missed him,
“I love you, little one.” Said her father,
“I will be big soon.”Said little Kagome,
“Yes you will. Take care of mommy for me.” Said her father,
“Daddy! Come home daddy! Please! I’m not ready to be big! Daddy! Come home, I wanna hug you daddy! I wanna go to the ice cream store with you daddy!” Kagome sobbed into the phone helplessly,
“I will soon. Real soon.” Said her father, then hung up the phone, his baby was suffering, and he couldn’t stop it.
Kagome believed him, she knew he would never lie to her. Never.

July came, and that’s when the men came,
“Yes, can I help you?” Asked Mrs. Higurashi,
“This is for you ma’am. I’m sorry.” Said the man, handing her a file, and then walked away.
The woman looked at the file and dropped it to the ground going with it. Her tears fell non stop.
Kagome looked at her mother in alarm, she st down her little brother and ran to her,
“Mommy, what’s the matter?” Asked little Kagome, not knowing why her mother was sad. She got no response, only sobs. Kagome looked over where she saw a folder and picked it up, inside was a picture of her daddy, but he looked different, his eyes looked lifeless, his body pale, his hair not vibrate, he looked, dead. Even if she didn’t know what a dead person looked like,
“Mommy, what’s this?” Asked little Kagome, confused,
“Your father... he’s never coming back.” Said her mother, then cried more,
“What are you talking about, he told me he was.” Said little Kagome, knowing her father would never lie to her,
“He’s....he’s dead.” Said her mother, then passed out in shock.
Little Kagome looked at her mother and a tear slowly slipped down her face, just one tear.

That’s how it was, even at his funeral, little Kagome was silent the whole time, she never spoke one word, ever time someone talked to her, she gave them the cold shoulder, they deserved it, just like her daddy did for lying to her, he promised her and he broke the promise. She hated him. She would never forgive him. Never.
A flag flew at half mast up above her, showing the world that a great man died, and he would be greatly missed. Even by his daughter.

Little Kagome never showed emotions, she never would, all they caused was pain. She never talked to anyone unless she had to. That’s how she was going to live her life she decided, cold, lifeless, and heartless. She would never be hurt again. She would never take the pain she did that day.

August 1st came. Little Kagome sat underneath the God tree, for some reason, she felt weird today, little Kagome sat with her head back and sighed, today her daddy was suppose to come home. To see her smiling, and hugging and kissing him. He was suppose to come home today and praise her and tell her how good a little girl she was, but he wasn’t coming home today, he never would. He lied to her, told her lies. Made her believe them, fooled her, hurt her, broke her heart.
Kagome sat there thinking until she remembered when her and her daddy had gone to the park, it was great day.

Little Kagome hid behind a tree, hoping her father wouldn’t find her. To no avail,
“Gotcha!”
Said her father with a big grin on his face,
“Never! You will never catch me!” Giggled
little Kagome,
“But I seem to have you now.” Said her father with a smile,
“Never! I will charm you with my love!” Said little Kagome, then started kissing him everywhere,
“No! Not your love! Anything but your love!” Said her father pretending to try to gt away,
“Yes, now you are in my trap.” Said little Kagome with a big smile,
“No, you are in my trap!” Said her father and kissed her on the forehead,
“Daddy, will you tell me everything? Will you never lie to me?” Questioned little Kagome,
“I will never lie to you. Never.” Said her father.
Little Kagome snuggled into his embrace, and slowly fell asleep. With her father watching after her. Always watching after her.

Little Kagome looked up to the sky to see cherry blossoms blowing in the wind, she loved the smell of cherry blossoms, her daddy loved the smell of cherry blossoms too.

That night, little Kagome got in bed and fell asleep. She slowly woke to someone rubbing her face. She opened her eyes and blinked to make sure she wasn’t seeing things, she wasn’t, so that meant that her father was really in front of her,
“Daddy?” Asked little Kagome,
“I promised you, I would be back.” Said her father,
“Daddy. Oh, daddy I missed you so much!” Said little Kagome, then hugged him,
“I cant stay long. I have to go.” Said her father hugging her,
“Why?” Asked little Kagome,
“Because I’m dead.” Said her father,
“Then how are you here?” Asked little Kagome,
“I made a promise that I had to keep.” Said her father,
“Daddy.” Said little Kagome in a heart broken voice,
“I love you.”Said her father,
“I love you too, daddy!” Said little Kagome, then her vision got blurry as the tears poured from her eyes. The dam that was about to explode, released. The tears she was holding back were no longer held back,
“Goodbye, daddy. I will always love you, and I will always know, daddy never lies.” Said little Kagome.
She watched him disappear and still let the tears flow freely. She would miss him, but she knew he was in heaven.

R and R please!
