Chapter 9: When the beingnames itself, first bloods are spilled…

Everyone looked in horror as the ogres had moved fast like the wind in front of Kagome and brought they're weapons down with a very loud *crash* noise, causing dust to spread everywhere around the three ogres, Inuyasha and Kouga looked at this scene in pure shock just like Shippo, Kirara, Miroku and Sango did… Kagome, the innocent, cheery, happy and giving Kagome had just been… smashed into pieces… Inuyasha could feel tears slowly making their way out of his eyes, tears were the one thing he never shed, they were a sign of weakness to him but now… now he just couldn't hold them anymore… they were slow, agonizingly slow but they were coming out alright, then, his feeling of sadness was replaced with deep anger, those three mother fuckers… they were going to pay royally for this… but then, his eyes caught something that made him gasp and look in utter disbelief and hope…

Kouga saw the ogres weapons coming crashing down, hard and he felt his heart constrict hard in his chest… Kagome, his woman and mate was gone! Just like that… he felt himself being filled with hate, just like Inuyasha and swore he would kill those three very, very slowly… then, he also saw what Inuyasha saw and could only gasp as his breath was caught in his throat, that was… unreal… what he saw could not be real… it had be a trick of the moon light… but as his nose was hit with a familiar scent and that confirmed it, it was real alright…

Kirara had just touched down behind Inuyasha and Shippo, Sango and Miroku got of her back and ran to Inuyasha and saw what he was seeing, all three of them gasped and held their breath in disbelief, except Shippo who was thinking: `No way… when did…? How could…? It can't be… this is, this is just… unreal…' Then all of their minds accepted at the exact same time what they were seeing…

Kagome was in pure shock… or her mind was, since her body wouldn't do anything, the three ogres too were in a state of pure surprise and confusion, they're weapons, which weighted more than a ton of rocks and were deadly like the plaque, all the logical parts suggested that the girl who had the Shikon no Tama should be nothing but an ugly pile of splattered flesh by now… but…

The weapons the Ogres used, stopped in front of her because, the being blocked them with his sword… and held them at bay with a single hand gripping his own blade and the sword wasn't even trembling from holding the 3 massive weapons at bay, which was not possible, Ogres had a massive muscle structure and their weapons were made out of heavy materials… so how was it possible that this single being was able to hold all 3 of them at bay with out flinching? It made no sense!

The being just stared coldly with a neutral expression on his face at the three Ogres and the cold fire in his golden eyes made them start to sweat a bit, it was like he was boring his gaze into their very souls and it felt like claws made of ice were clawing their way to the very cores of their souls, then he spoke with a smirk and a taunting voice: "Sorry kiddies, but if this is all you have I suggest you leave know… or there will be death…" One of three Ogres, the one with that hammer, snapped back into reality and shouted angrily: "WHAT!? You think a puny shit like you can just tell us to leave?!" Then one of the others who wielded the whip continued: "Yeah! Just like my brother says, there is three of us and only one of you so…" then the last one, the one with the club finished: "… so what makes you think that you can stop all three of us and from taking the jewel and splattering your bloodstained corpse from here to the other end of Japan?" Then all three of them growled at him and started pressing their weapons harder towards him, well the one with the whip was trying to use his whip to pull the sword away from him, but the being smirked again and answered: "Because… low-level beings like you cannot defeat me, not even if you lived 300 years…"

Right after saying that, the being put both arms to the grip of his sword and after taking a better position with his legs he began to grit his teeth and felt his muscles and body hardening, ready for battle, then, while letting out a short battle roar and in one quick movement, his sword that he held horizontally in front of his head and which held all three of their weapons, suddenly pushed up, against the ogres superior muscles with such great force all three of them were pushed back so fast and forcefully that they staggered backwards and that was his timing for attacking.

He placed the sword sideways to his right and taking a steady leaping pose he pounced forward so fast that the wind itself followed and flew straight towards the belly of one of the ogres, the one with the whip, and with a loud battle cry his sword came horizontally from his right to his left with an in-human speed his sword impacted with the rock hard scales of the ogres body, creating a very loud *Clang* voice and after the attack the being landed behind the ogre, with a few feet of distance while holding his sword to the frontal felt in his eyes and after landing the wind followed, making his hair move with it and his clothes did the same.

One of the ogres turned to look at him, it was the one with the stone club, and said with a mocking laughter: "That's it!? You talk like a big boy and yet you couldn't even scratch him! You should have known boy, our scales are tough like a rock and that sword of yours, menacing as it looks like, cannot cut through our skin! AHHAHAHA!" His laughter continued but then the other ogre, the one with the hammer, tapped onto his shoulder and he replied with a smirk: "What? Wasn't that funny?" The other one just stood silently and pointed towards the one that had been attacked, the one that had been laughing looked at him too and his eye widened… no way…

The ogre with the whip was still like a statue, not moving an inch, yet, as everyone looked at it more carefully, the two ogres, Kirara, Kouga, Shippo and Inuyasha smelled one particular scent coming out of it: Blood, lot's of it. Then they saw where it was coming from, it's mouth, it was slowly dripping at first and then it started to pour out faster and faster but why? The ogres wasn't wounded anywhere so why was it's mouth bleeding? Then the single red eye it had started to look like glass, as if dying and then, something that made them hold their breath happened: The point where the beings sword had cut the ogre, the scales there began to disperse, like being devoured by intense heat and blood started to come out of there, the next thing they saw was the ogre's stomach suddenly constricting and finally, the cut became enormous and the ogre was `blown' in half, the cut suddenly just expanded all the way to it's back, it was like something went in from the stomach and after collecting all the intestines to the back it exploded horizontally out of the back, so what they saw was all the blood and intestines of the ogre explode out it's back at almost lighting speed like rate, it was rather gross.

The ogre was blown in half from waist up and died instantly, it's lower body stumbling and just falling down, while the upper body flew straight up before hitting the ground, the blood that rained down made the grass completely red, Kagome just thought to herself: `No way… just like that, he killed an ogre with scales just like that… what kind of attack was that? It had no magic, no You-ki or spiritual power in it, so how come it made the ogre explode like that? Also, his speed, when I saw him butt-naked *blush* in that weird room, he didn't have the leg muscles that would make him move like that, his speed is a bit greater than Kouga's! and he doesn't have any shards either… yet, why am I feeling danger out of him if he just saved my life? Who is he?' From her eye angle she could see that the two other ogres were completely ignoring her presence, it seems like the death of one of their brothers was more important than her, that was a relief… yet, she couldn't help but look at Inuyasha who was on the ground, steadily getting up and had the expression of both amazement and slight fear in his eyes, just like everyone else… the beings actions must have confused them all to hell.

The being slowly stood up with a neutral expression on his face and was thinking: `I awaken from millenniums of slumber and the very first thing I do is killing something… man, I would have preferred to have just sat down somewhere and have a really nice meal and drinks… even water would do just fine and I would even eat Youkai entrails… crap… ` then he looked at his sword and thought again: `All those millenniums ago, you were the only one I could trust, after those two betrayed me… even now, after so much waiting, you still waited for me… I thank you…' He then turned to face the two remaining Ogres and said while placing the sword horizontally behind his neck: "I warned you, there would be death if you didn't leave… but, since I feel sorry for you two, I will let you go… but, unless you leave before I count to 10, there will be more death…" at that he closed his eyes and slowly began counting.

The others had just managed to help Inuyasha get up and he then said with a grumpy voice: "What took you bastards so long?! Were you too drunk or something?!" The first reaction from any of them came from Shippo, he yelled at him: "Shut up, Baka! (Baka=Idiot in Japanese.) You should have sniffed those three out but I'm guessing that having another `male pissing contest' with Kouga made you too distracted!" to that one Inuyasha could feel his nerves twitching and so he turned towards shippo and shouted: "Why you little…!" and tried to punch him but instead Shippo dodged it and climbed atop of Inuyashas head and bit his ear rather hard, making him scream from pain, ever since growing up, Shippos teeth had become rather sharp and if it had hurt when he bit his ears before, now it was unbearable! After Inuyasha shook Shippo off of his head he began to chase him in circles while shouting at him just about every profanity he could come up with while Shippo merely showed his tongue to him and kept calling him `Idiot' `Stupid' `Mangy Mutt' etc.

At the sight of this, everyone and I do mean EVERYONE, including the two Ogres and the being sweat-dropped, Kagome thought while her body sweat-dropped: `Well… some things will never change… I wish I could scream `sit' at him right now, there are two ogres and that weird new guy and all he does is chase Shippo around like a kid…' The chase ended rather abruptly when Sango and Miroku hit Inuyasha on the head at the exact same time with their weapons, making him rub his head and swear like a sailor yet again while Shippo merely hid behind Miroku.

Kikyo and Kaede at the end of the field, the others did not notice them because the wind was blowing in the wrong direction and they were hiding in the bushes, just looked at them through their eye slits and thought at the same time: `Baka…'

As the being counted 4 seconds, the two ogres just looked at him with their eyes blazing with fury, they're blood had taken over their rationality and wanted to avenge their fallen brother and kill this little prick for mocking them like this… so with a loud roar they attacked, without fear, only with deep anger… the being sighed and thought: `Great… I have to kill them now, just great… there goes my appetite…' then he gripped his sword with a single hand and threw it spinning into the air above him, making everyone think: `What the hell is he doing?' and at that moment, the two remaining ogres were in front of him, roaring and bringing their weapons down on him.

The instant they did though, everyone who watched carefully, which was everyone except the two ogres, they could see that just before the weapons impacted he had as if turned into a blur and jumped up towards his sword spinning in the air, making Kagome think: `Such speed, he didn't even tense his muscles until moving… wow…' Inuyasha stared in awe, even if this guy might be his next enemy he had to admit he was good, very good… `Keh… after Naraku I didn't think there would be anyone left except my brother who could give me a nice workout… the wolf can make me sweat but not enough to make me feel exhausted…this guy though…' he thought with a smirk.

Miroku stared at the beings movements and also thought: `This guy is… strong, to say the least… yet, what is he using for his power? It is not You-ki or spiritual power, I can't even sense it… it is as if, his power is not even there… what is this?' Sango too looked at the beings movements with squeezed and concentrated eyes while thinking: `From his movements and muscle reactions… well what I can see from his muscles anyway, I can safely say he has more combat experience than all of us combined, all his movements have been carefully calculated, not a single wasted muscle twitch or movement, he has absolute control over his body… every last inch is reacting as he wishes… which means, there is no way of telling how far he can push himself, giving him the element of surprise in battle, only one word can summaries his entire fighting stance, movement and control: Genius, a natural born fighter…' Kirara growled at Shippo and he nodded answering: "Yeah, it is not an illusionary technique, it's pure speed… amazing, he is faster than this baka here…" Inuyasha after hearing that growled with a low, dark voice, making the kit sweat and wave his arms in front of his face while saying: "Just kidding!"

Kouga also looked at the beings movements and thought: `That weirdo is rather fast… faster than Dog shit no doubt but against me? Not a chance, I'm faster than that.' then his gaze looked at Kagome and he wondered, why wasn't she moving? By now she should have ran to that dog shit, but what was she doing?

As if hearing Kouga's thoughts, Inuyasha too saw that Kagome did not move, why? Did that guy do something to her? The thought made him growl mentally… then he noticed the distance between Kagome and those two ogres and the being, they were far enough so without further thinking (what else is knew in his case?) Inuyasha began to run towards Kagome with attempts to get her out the harms way before the ogres attention turned back to her. The others noticed this but they didn't say anything, instead they kept they're eyes on the battle at hand so if something happened they could warn Inuyasha in time.

Kouga saw Inuyasha sprinting towards his woman and felt a hot bang of anger bubble inside him, `No way dog shit, you are not touching my woman!' he thought before he too began to run towards Kagome, using the shards in his legs to the fullest to reach her before Inuyasha.

Kagome saw Inuyasha running towards her and felt a sigh of relief in her mind, though she was saddened that she would not be able to touch him, but the thought that she wouldn't be able to feel his touch either was even more scarier… what if her body would never recover from this… condition it was in, what then? The thought made her want to cry but she stomped that down, no, there was no way she could give up, from what she had learned during the four years was that no matter how hard or lethal a curse was, there was always a way to counter it, it was a universal fact that everything had a counter part. If she could have, she would have opened her arms to welcome Inuyasha but instead she just readied herself… well, mentally, for him (LOL) but then, just before he could reach her, someone else caught her with extreme speed… Kagome was at first startled shitless about the fact that someone had slung her over someone's shoulder but it didn't take a genius who it was when this comment reached her ears: "Sorry dog shit, she's my woman and you aren't going to take her from me!" If Kagome could, she would have said something really violent right now…

In the air, the being watched at ogres but then his eyes saw what was happening to that girl, Kagome, his eyes were first amused when that interesting person who's smell he couldn't quite trace to either human or Youkai was running for her… with his accurate eyes he could see the emotions playing deep inside the girls life-less eyes: Happy and warm… even loving… but then he saw her being grabbed by that wolf and his eyes suddenly became frozen and he thought: `What? NO! That wolf… he's fast, faster than that other guy… Shit, I thought I could show-off a bit more with these two ogres but now… that wolf must not get his hands on the Shikon no Tama!' Then his eyes became cold with determination and seriousness, after grabbing the sword spinning in front of him he yelled at the ogres: "Time's up! Now there will be death!"

Then, at the instant the ogres looked up, the beings sword began to vibrate, making the wind around them gather to… `twist and swirl' around the beings sword and then they felt an immense amount of some kind of unknown energy gather into the sword and it began to mix with the wind, making everyone's attention turn towards it, even Inuyasha's who was ready to murder Kouga on the spot and could feel his eyes starting to turn red and blue (NOTICE: Miroku had not given him Tetsusaiga yet, since the situation was rather intense, he forgot.) but the feeling of this energy and aura was… `forcing' his beast side to calm down… or more like, telling it to shut up and sit down, his head turned at the same time as Kougas to look in the air and they saw the wind around the sword and the intense, [Unknown coloured] energy that was mixing with it…

The being felt the technique was ready, he had hoped not to use any of his real powers so soon but there was little choice now, he had to end this fight… as he began to fall down from the sky towards the ogres who were getting ready to defend themselves, if he wasn't so serious at the moment he would have smirked at their efforts, instead his eyes hardened so much they almost became beast like slits and muttered to himself: "[Kuroi Kaze Satsujin Ken]…" then he roared out really loud:

The being then swing his sword in a Arc from his right side to his left side and the wind that was swirling and twisting around the sword was suddenly and violently released from the sword and as it flew threw the air it became sort of like a… `horizontal tornado wave' (Best way I can describe it.) and it flew with amazing speed towards the ground, it was black and red coloured and even before hitting the ground it made the air around them swirl so violently it was getting hard to breathe, the energies in that tornado or wind was massive and it made them all feel weak in their stomachs, like it was trying to suck away the very life from them.

As it hit the ground in between the two ogres, it sent out a massive wind wave into all directions and had they been any closer to the source, it would have blown them kami knows how far from this location… the thing though that made they're eyes widen yet again was that when they saw the two ogres in the middle of that tornado, they saw as if in slow motion as the winds tore they're scales off, then their flesh and finally the wind tore them into ashes, just like that, it was in slow motion to them but in reality it took less than a second… it took somewhere around ten seconds before the winds died down and what was left in the spot where the tornado had hit was a crater nearly the same size as the one where Naraku had died… and considering it took all they're combined strength to cause it and this guy did almost the same with a single strike… this was not good…

In the bushes at the other edge of the field, Kaede was still trying to get the dust of from her healthy eye while thinking: `Dear Kami… that energy was so… intense and…if felt like it was not from this world… those ogres didn't even have time to scream or react before it tore them to pieces… but… why did I sense so much… terror and fear in that tornado? what did it mean? Wait a minute… is this being the cause why my sister returned here instead of resting in peace?' with that she looked at her sister who hadn't even flinched from all this, she had a dead serious look in her eyes and her crumbling face had it's teeth gritted and she looked like she was… trying to find an opening to attack? Is that what she was waiting for?

Kikyo looked grimacing as she took in all she saw just now, the situation was more worse that she thought, that… devil had more strength than she estimated, even after all this time of being sealed, it awoke with this level of strength… she thought: `Direct attacks are useless at this point, I don't have the power to directly attack him anymore… if only… if only there would be even the smallest opening…! Damn it… when I found out about him, I never knew he was this strong… and he isn't even at full power! I only have one chance, then I must release this soul or I might cause it to become corrupted… and that would not bode well for neither me or my reincarnation…' With that, she looked at Kaede and said with a determined voice: "Sister, I know you think I should be resting in peace now… but I cannot rest yet, I must first make sure that this being does not leave this place, for that… I need your help, I only have one arm left, I need you to draw and release the arrow as I aim, I don't have much time left and I only have enough strength to fire only once… will you… help me one last time?" After hearing her sister determined and pleading voice, and after looking at the being again as it landed at the edge of the crater so hard it made the earth around them shake lightly, she nodded and answered: "Yes, big sister, I will… but promise, promise me that you will no longer walk the earth torment yourself like his after it is done?" her voice was so pleading too, if they weren't blood related she would have sounded to Kikyo like a grandmother… she nodded slowly and kneeled down, the two sisters hugged for the last time before setting their sights back to the field, Kikyo using her right arm to steady the bow while Kaede pulled the last arrow she had left and drew it steadily and stood at the side of her sister, the two sisters would fight side-by-side one last time… against an unknown enemy…

The being was crouched down on the ground as the winds were slightly blowing around him and while slowly standing up he thought: `That was a bit over the top… but… it felt kinda good, to be able to use that technique again… anyway, now I must make sure the Shikon no Tama does not fall into the hands of that wolf…' as he stood up, he looked around and saw them all staring at him with mixed feelings in each of their eyes, some held terror, some held amazement… but the eyes of that… interesting young man, whose scent was interesting, they didn't hold terror, they held… curiosity and… and an attempt to read his last attack? Interesting, instead of gaping, he was trying to analyze his attack… this one was truly interesting…

Inuyasha stared at the being, that attack… it was almost just like his Kaze no Kizu… except he wasn't looking for something in the wind to create that attack, he gathered the wind to create that attack… but, simply wind would not create that much power into an attack, the main reason was the energy he imbued it with, the wind was just something to make the attack capable of hitting corporeal and living things… who the hell was this guy? And what did he do to Kagome?! At that thought, his mind returned to the present moment and he yelled at the being angrily: "Hey! You bastard! Who the hell are you and what the hell did you do to Kagome!?" That made almost everyone look at him with wonder in their eyes, he wasn't intimidated by the beings strength? Instead he had out right yelled at him and demanded to know who he was? Miroku was the first to realise the answer and thought: `I think I understand, because Inuyasha is a hanyou, he has been constantly battling opponents stronger than he was and had even battled with a youkai that killed his father… so it is no wonder that he keeps his head cool enough not to succumb to fear… but the main reason why he doesn't fear this guy must be because of his instincts and… ridiculously high level of desire to protect and help Kagome that makes him even more determined no matter who or what he is up against.'

The beings eyes widened and thought: `I said this guy is interesting? I take that back… this guy is… the MOST interesting person after that woman, Kagome, that I know off… he is refusing to show fear or terror in his eyes, instead he stomps them with his strong desire to protect that girl… well, I must honour that determination.' He then placed his sword horizontally behind his head and said with a business like voice: "First off, I didn't want to do this to that girl but I had little choice, I could not jeopardize the fact of her not freeing me from my prison… so I used a my mental strength to overwhelm hers and forced her… mind and soul to be sealed off inside her, meaning she has not will or ability to move without me ordering her to…"

To this, everyone was shocked to the core, with his mental capacity alone he overpowered Kagome's strong spirit? Kouga could feel his anger swelling up but before he could get a word out, Inuyasha roared to the being with his eyes flashing red for a fraction of a second: "RETURN HER TO NORMAL YOU SON OF A BITCH!! OR I'LL TEAR YOUR HEART OUT AND SHOWE IT UP YOUR ASS!!" This made the being smirk mentally, he had to remember that one… but his mind became grim as he answered with closed eyes: "Unfortunately, I cannot return her to normal, the effect is irreversible and can only be broken by two means… one, she brakes out of it on her own, which would mean she must have a stronger mental power than me, which is impossible… she looked into the depths of my soul and it overwhelmed her, she cannot brake out of it anymore…"

Inuyasha looked back at Kagome who was still slung over Kouga's shoulder, her face towards him, her eyes were life-less and un-shed tears were welling up in them… at that time, it didn't bother him that Kouga was holding her, he just wanted to hear her say something… anything… but it was useless, her body and eyes held no life at all… so he asked the being with a dark, dangerously low voice: "What is the second way you bloody asshole…?"

The being opened it's eyes and said: "If I die, she will be free… but can you kill me?" his eyes too were now dead serious, he didn't want to fight his guy… but it seemed like he had little choice… he was determined to save the girl, from his eyes he could tell he was ready to die if it would save her… it was admirable… but if they would fight to the death, he would not hold back, one of them would die…

Everyone looked nervously at the two, the next reaction Inuyasha makes will mean more than just a simple fight, it would mean they all would fight his guy, since Kagome was important for them too… but could they win? The presence of that being was already enough to make them feel they're knees grow weak… but… if Inuyasha would fight, they would too… nobody hurts an innocent and pure person like Kagome, who has done so much for them all that it has made them all more close than they could imagine… this would be a truly dark battle if it comes to that…

Inuyasha was silent for a while, his head was downcast and he was remembering everything until this point, when Kagome and he first met, they're fights, arguments, good and bad times… times when they were both in life-threatening danger but pulled through together, the times they're hearts were broken and healed… the day they confessed they're love and finally, the battle with Naraku and the moment they almost mated… but through all that, only one thing made him more determined than anything: her smile. That warm, innocent, pure and angelic smile… it would make him want to push himself over his limits, to keep himself going when it was impossible to even stand up anymore... made him able to withstand even the heaviest of pains and still keep standing… and most of all, it made his life, his worthless life as a hanyou, her smile made it feel loved and made him able to love her back… that feeling was all he needed to live, her love, that was all… with that set in his mind, he lifted his head and his golden eyes were hard with determination and un-wavering courage… the sign of a true warrior, he then said with a smirk: "By the time I'm finished with you, I'll have kicked your ass all over the horizon like a little pansy."

The being then took his attack stance, pulling his right leg back, leaning his left one forward, lowered his back slightly, keeping the sword horizontally over his head with his right hand while his left was loosely pointing down to the ground, he then said with a gravely serious voice: "Well then, since you're this determined, I cannot refuse… I will warn you though, attacking me with your fists and claws alone is suicide… do you not have a weapon you can use?" Inuyasha then realised his Tetsusaiga was not on his hip and he growled making his annoyance known but that ended when Miroku remembered he had been holding it and shouted: "Inuyasha! Heads up!" and threw it to him.

As the Tetsusaiga flew threw the air towards Inuyasha, the being watched the sword and thought: `That is no ordinary sword, it has an aura of it's own… yet, it does not feel very strong… I better keep my eyes open…' Inuyasha caught the sword and smirked at Miroku, he then shouted: "No need to thank me!" And Inuyasha's reply was just like he anticipated: "Keh!" Inuyasha then took his stance, keeping the sword sheathed at his hip and placing his legs ready to attack, while keeping a grip on the swords hilt, samurai style. Kagome could see this and thought: `He is willing to face up to that… being knowing his strength is other worldly, just to save me… he has done this so many times but I still feel so… scared… scared that this is the time he will lose, that this is the time he won't make it… NO! I must believe in him, he is the strongest person I know, he has fought countless battles where the odds were against him heavily and still live to tell about it! This time, this time is not different, he will pull through, one way or another… I know he will!'

The being and Inuyasha stared at each other dead in the eyes, the being asked after a moment of silence: "Tell me, you're name is Inuyasha, right? I want to be sure I remember the name of the most interesting opponent I will probably ever face…" Inuyasha felt himself smirking, even if he was going to kill this bastard, he still had class alright… a true warrior, so he answered: "Yes, my name is Inuyasha, now… what is your name? Since I'm going to kill you I can't just write onto your tombstone something like… `bastard I killed'."
