THANK YOU SO MUCH! You guys mean a lot! But I have a bit of bad news. I can't bring Laura back. As much as I like to, I'm afraid she'll interfere with the story. You'll see why when you read and there's also some good news about her in there too! But in the mean time…ON TO THE FIC!

Midnight talk with Sesshoumaru

While your body lay limp on the ground from unconsciousness, Sesshoumaru begins to walk away. "Sessoumaru-sama! Where are you going? We can't just leaver her here by herself!" the little girl states. "I have no intention of letting another human follow me around, as I have said before." "But M'Lord, I'm afraid Rin is right, you know how dangerous it is out here, especially with an inexperienced girl like this." Jaken says. Sesshoumaru scolds, "So are you siding with her now?" "M'Lord I am terribly sorry!" Sesshoumaru begins to walk away with Jaken not too far behind. "Come Rin! Do not defy my word." "Rin says no! Rin will not leave her behind!" Tears start to form in her eyes. "Rin won't let nobody go through what Rin went through!" And with that she drops to the ground and holds onto your hand. "Rin will be here with you!" Sesshoumaru sighs and walks back to where Rin and you were on the ground. He picks you up, bridal style and begins to walk away, for the last time. "YAY!" Rin skips merrily behind Sesshoumaru, then suddenly stops. "Wait. Sesshoumaru-sama? What about her friend? Will you save her too?" Without stopping, "I don't think so." (>_< So cold-hearted)

You wake up to the sound of a little girl's voice. "Is she up yet?" You're laying against a tree. You slowly open your eyes and sit up. You look at your surrounding. "YAY! You're up! You're up! Rin was so worried!" You rub your head. "Uuummm… where am I?" "You're with Rin, Jaken, and Sesshoumaru-sama! He let me take you with us!" "Uh-huh" you state, carefully taking in her words. Rin pushes a plate of fish and a jar of water towards you. "Rin says you must eat to get better!" You rub your head again, slightly confused at what was taking place. "No, no. That's not what I meant. I mean where am I, really?" The little frog demon walks over to you. "Why M'Lady, you are in Japan. Feudal Japan that is." You suddenly bolt up. "I'M WHERE? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I DON'T EVEN LIVE IN JAPAN I LIVE IN AMERICA!" you rant particularly to no one. (Sorry if you don't live in America) You start to pace back and forth. "AND IN FEUDAL JAPAN? NO, NO, NO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" Sesshoumaru returns from wherever he was at. (lol) He looks at you, you look back, stopping in your tracks. "YOU!" You point an accusing finger at him and stomp over to him. "YOU DID THIS! WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THIS?!" You stand before him outraged. He looks at you with the same emotionless eyes. You stare back at him, calming down. You sigh. " I apologize. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I just don't know how I got here."

You walk back to where you where sitting when you awoke, trying to think back. But for some reason you can't remember- anything. `Now, what was I doing before I got here?' you think to yourself. After a few moments you begin to pace again. Every now and then looking back at the people you were with. Jaken and Rin were both staring blankly at you, Sesshoumaru sitting against a tree not paying any attention to anything you were saying or doing. You put your hand to your head again. "What was I doing…?" Rin snaps out of her gaze and rushes over to you. "Rin helped save you from those demons! But….we couldn't save your friend…" She puts her head down. You froze. A horrifying look covers your face. It all comes flooding back to you. Every memory. Walking in the park, running through the green light, getting attacked, and yes, Laura's corpse. You drop to your knees and cover your face with your hands.

`I can't believe this is really happening…this is actually happening!' you think. Tears begin to form in your eyes but you refuse to cry. A tiny tear falls down your face. "Why are you crying?" Rin puts a reassuring hand to your shoulder. You look up at her. Your tear sparkles in the setting of the sun. "Don't cry! It will be OK!" You sit on your butt, put your knees to your chest, wrap your arms around them, and burry your face in your knees. " I appreciate your kindness, uh, Rin but I just want to be left alone right now." "Could first tell Rin your name?" You sigh. "It's (your name)" The little girl stands and twirls around. "Ah what a beautiful name! Rin will leave now!" You watch as she run back to mess with that Jaken thing again.

Later, after the sun fell and the stars were shining brightly, you were there leaning against the tree, unable to sleep. You turn and look at the lifeless bodies of Rin and Jaken as they slept by the now burnt out campfire. Oh how you wanted to go to sleep but there was so much on your mind. You felt dreary. You turn your head to look upon that beautiful creature, Sesshoumaru. He looked so cute when he was asleep. If only you could touch him. Your mind drifted somewhere else but you snapped yourself out of it. You get up slowly and walk closer to the green plain that was before you. You sit down and gaze up at the stars. "Laura…." You murmur. After a while, you hear footsteps behind you. You turn and see Sesshoumaru beside you staring at the sky. You stare at him for a minute or two until he switches his gaze to you. He stares for a second and says:

"Why do you grieve over a worthless human life you call a `friend'. You look at him in disbelief. "BECAUSE WE HUMANS ACTUALLY CARE FOR THE ONES WE LOVE, THAT'S WHY!" you snap at him. You turn and look straight ahead. "Wouldn't expect you to know anything about that anyway." After a moment of silence you blurt out. "You know, I try to--- I try not to cry when someone I care about dies… that has happened a lot in my life. I, um, I try to look at the bright side, you know, I'll see her again someday." You say, without looking at him. But you can his eyes on you, bearing into your soul. You turn to look at him. He is indeed looking at you. "What is it?" you ask. He doesn't say anything but turns to look back at the sky. You stand up, feeling better. "You know, I haven't seen you smile yet." He doesn't say anything. You etch a little closer to him. "Come on. I know you don't hold that emotionless face all the time!" You step out in front of him. He looks at you. "Hey! Look at what I can do!" You start to do a little dance--- well something like it. You twist and turn around doing the run-a-man and anything else you find funny. Then you see it. Sesshoumaru can't help but smile. Even if it was small you saw it. He looks at your happy expression and look up again. You smile. You actually look nice when you smile…Kinda cute. You yawn. Sesshoumaru snaps his head around in shock at what you said but you had already started walking back to your beloved tree for a night's sleep--- well for the rest of the night anyway.
