I do not own Inuyasha or any of the character her in. They are all the property of Rumiko Takahashi.

Aa: Another form of yes in Japanese.
Oi: Hey

Rin channeled surf and ate her potato chips. With the day being so up beat and exciting Rin was surprised to find herself so bored. She yawned and changed the channel once again smiling as she found Tech TV. A knock on her door took her attention away from the hilarious skit with Tony Little.

“Rin.” Her Mother said through the door
“Yes Ma'am, please come in.”
Rin's mother poked her head through the door and handed Rin the phone, “It's Inuyasha, he says it's really important.”
“Arigatou Okaasan.”
Rin took the phone and answered it with a cheery hello.
“Rin you have to come to the hospital quick!”
“What?! Why, what happened?!”
“It's Sesshoumaru, he…you have to hurry!”
Rin jumped out the bed and threw her shoes on.

As Rin raced down the stairs her mother called after her.
“I can't talk right now Mom; I have to get to the hospital.” Rin ran out the door and to her car.
“What's happened?” Rin's mother came to the door with a worried look on her face.
“Sesshoumaru's in the hospital.” Rin climbed into the driver seat.

On the way to the hospital Rin had tears falling down her eyes. She knew Naraku had done something to him. I'ma fuck Naraku up!! Rin stepped on her gas and began to fly in the direction of the hospital.

Mr. Taisho and Inuyasha were pacing the hallway of the hospital when Rin arrived. Mr. Taisho's eyes were full of worry. As for Inuyasha, it was clear that he was full of rage. Kagome sat in a chair next to Izayoi holding her hand as the woman cried. Seeing that made Rin cringe and tears continued to fall from her eyes and she approached Inuyasha.

Before Rin could even say anything Inuyasha was on it, “They hurt him really bad.”
Rin sucked in a breath, “Naraku.”
“And his thugs.”
“How is he? What happened?”
“We don't know. He's stable, but he hasn't woken up yet.”
“Where's Naraku?” Rin demanded through her tears.
“Jail by now.”
“You have to tell me what happened.”
“I got this weird text earlier…”
“He's awake.” The doctor came out of the room, “He wants to see you.”
Rin nodded and pushed passed the doctor almost knocking him over as she entered the room.

When Rin's eyes found Sesshoumaru, she was not prepared for what she saw. Sesshoumaru's right eye was swollen shut, face bruised. It wasn't so bad as she couldn't recognize him, but it looked painful. As her eyes traveled lower she found his shoulder and arm bandaged, the rest of him was covered by a blanket and he looked incredibly uncomfortable. Rin walked to Sesshoumaru's side and gave him another look over.

“He beat you up?” Rin looked at him with sympathy.
Sesshoumaru frowned although it hurt, “Of course not.” He turned away from her.
“Tell me what happened Sesshoumaru.” Mr. Taisho's voice was commanding and angry.
Sesshoumaru let out a sigh, “Are they in jail?”
“Of course they are you stupid jackass! They tried to kill you and on top of that they were running a fucking drug ring!” Inuyasha shouted
“Inuyasha!” Mr. Taisho barked at his son.
“Gomen.” Inuyasha lowered his head.
Rin ran her hand through Sesshoumaru's hair, for some reason it felt…dirty. Like there was actual dirt in it. Rin looked closer and found that she was right. What da hell did dey do to him?!
Rin's voice became stern and she gripped Sesshoumaru's chin making him look her in the eyes. “I want to know, now.”
Sesshoumaru winced in her grip then swallowed and nodded his head.

Sesshoumaru recalled talking to Naraku and going back and forth with threats until Naraku pulled out a pistol.

“I've known Naraku so long that I wouldn't put it past him to pull the trigger. So I tried to dodge behind the chair that was near. He fired a shot and it hit my right shoulder. Some guys rushed in and went after me. I fought off a few and got away. I only got as far as the front door when someone stabbed me from behind.”
“Who?” Kagome frowned
“I don't know.” Sesshoumaru shook his head speaking slowly as if Kagome was a child, “I said, “Someone, stabbed me, from behind.” Sesshoumaru chuckled
“What the hell is so funny?!” Inuyasha frowned and earned another glare from his father.
“They stabbed me in my side.” Sesshoumaru smiled, “I don't think they were too smart. There are plenty of other places that are more deadly.”
Rin crossed her arms, “And what about the dirt in your hair?”
Sesshoumaru let out another breath, “Before I got to Naraku's house I set up a time sensitive text message to Inuyasha to call the police if I didn't disable it in thirty minutes.”
“Yeah, I got the message and called the police.” Inuyasha nodded. “I almost didn't call the police, if Kagome hadn't convinced me otherwise I would have gone over there myself.”
“That doesn't explain the dirt in your hair.” Rin frowned
“Inuyasha and the police showed up just as they were burying me in their back yard.”
Rin's jaw dropped, “What da fuck?!” Rin clasped her hand over her mouth and looked at Mr. Taisho.
Mr. Taisho shook head and waved his hand at her.
“Hey! You got mad at me for cursing.” Inuyasha fumed
“You're my child, she's not.”
“I'm not a chi…” Inuyasha shut up and took a step towards his mother when his father lifted his eyebrow.
Kagome giggled and touched Inuyasha's back, “Watch it Inuyasha, he might put you over his knee again.”
Inuyasha frowned and mumbled a shut up to Kagome.
“I can't believe they tried to bury you!” Rin shook her head.
“They thought I was dead.” Sesshoumaru tried to shrug but winced from the pain.
“When do you think that you'll be out?” Inuyasha asked
“I don't know.” Sesshoumaru looked at his shoulder, “The doctor hasn't told me anything.”
“I don't think he would on the account of you being unconscious.” Mr. Taisho nodded
“So how are you feeling now?” Izayoi asked with a concerned look on her face.
“I'm in pain.” Sesshoumaru stated simply
“I'll call the doctor for painkillers.” Mr. Taisho picked up Sesshoumaru's buzzer
Rin shook her head, “I'm just glad you're slightly okay.” She kissed his forehead.
“So what do you think will happen to Naraku?” Inuyasha frowned
“It was attempted murder otouto.” Sesshoumaru sighed
“Well I hope he rots.” Kagome spat, “He'll finally get what's coming to him, especially after Kiky…” Kagome stopped short and looked at Inuyasha
Inuyasha's eyes narrowed and a sneer took hold of his face, “I hope that bastard gets the death penalty, that's exactly what he deserves.”
Mr. Taisho turned to Inuyasha with a look of surprise gracing his normally cool features.

Rin nodded her head and smiled. So that's were Sesshoumaru gets his attitude from. She folded her arms and coughed to bring attention to herself.
“We'll just have to see what happens at his trial. I'm pretty sure you're going to testify Sesshoumaru.”
Sesshoumaru nodded and smiled coldly, “If I had my way I'd do more than testify.”
“Oi.” Inuyasha grinned, “I'll strap him in the chair and you can pull your lever.”
Sesshoumaru chuckled, and maybe it was all the stress and/or the excitement of the day, but she thought she saw a little brotherly love leek between the two.
“The doctor will be here shortly with the painkillers so we should be leaving now.” Mr. Taisho stated
“I don't think that's a good idea Otousan.” Inuyasha shook head, “What if one of Naraku's boys come looking for a little payback.”
“Don't worry,” Mr. Taisho walked over to his wife, “I've called in a favor with the police chief, he's going to post some of his better officers outside Sesshoumaru's room.”
“Can we at least wait till they get here.” Rin let her face turn into a puppy's as her eyes became huge and watery.
Mr. Taisho smiled and nodded his head, “They're already here, but I understand if you want to spend more time with Sesshoumaru.” Mr. Taisho turned his attention to rest of the occupants of the room, “But the rest of you have to leave.”
Sesshoumaru smiled, “What if the doctor won't let her stay.”
“This is a hospital. Their job is to make sure you heal. I think having Rin around is a perfect method for you.” Mr. Taisho wrapped an arm around his wife and smiled.
“Dad's right.” Inuyasha walked up to Sesshoumaru, “But don't take that healing method too serious.” Inuyasha made a kissy face at Sesshoumaru.

Out of no where, and with speed an injured man shouldn't have, Sesshoumaru reached behind him with his good arm. In one graceful move he had grabbed a pillow and firmly smacked Inuyasha across the face with it. The move wasn't inconsequential though. Sesshoumaru hissed and went to grip his shoulder when Rin caught his hand.
Inuyasha laughed, “You hit like a girl.” With that said he sauntered off to the door but didn't quite make it when the same pillow made contact with the back of his head.
Inuyasha turned and glared at Sesshoumaru's content face.
“I don't care if you are in the hospital, I'll take you on right now if you want!”
“Enough.” Mr. Taisho swatted Inuyasha on the behind, “I said let's go.”

Inuyasha quickly exited the room with Kagome behind him giggling. Izayoi ran a hand down her husband's arm and took her leave as well. Mr. Taisho gave a nod to both Rin and Sesshoumaru before leaving as well.

“They're finally gone.” Sesshoumaru sighed
“I would ask if you were grumpy but…” Rin lifted an eyebrow
“You're suppose to make me feel better, not insult me.” Sesshoumaru looked away, desperately wanting to cross his arms.
“Ah, do you want me to kiss it and make it better.” Rin pouted
Sesshoumaru grinned and Rin knew he was about to make a smart ass remark.
“Kiss it, suck it, I don't care as long as you don't bite down.” He said evenly
Rin crossed the room and picked up the discarded pillow. “Do you want me ta throw dis atchu?”
“Did you just sneeze?” Sesshoumaru frowned feigning confusion
“Nigga don't play.” Rin shook her head, “You lucky you in a hospital already, cuz I'm about ta fuck you up.”
Sesshoumaru grinned again and Rin threw the pillow at him. He caught it and set on his lap smiling.
“Is that a smile?” Rin grinned in triumph
“Well it ain't yo mamma.” Sesshoumaru imitated Rin's attitude
Rin tilted her head and pulled up a chair beside his bed. “I love you Sesshoumaru.”
Sesshoumaru's eyes widen, at that very moment he couldn't have looked more like his father. A second later he replaced his business mask and nodded.
“I like you too.”
Rin frowned, “I'll hurt you.”
Sesshoumaru shook his head, “I love you.”
Rin leaned over and kissed his lips tenderly, “You better.” She kissed him again
“So, what now?” Sesshoumaru sighed
“For now you're off the hook.” She nodded
“Nani?”
“You must have lost yo goddamn mind goin' over dere. No gun, no knife, not shit. I gotta teach you how ta be a gangsta cuz dis ain't workin' out. You cain't be gettin' shot and buried and shit. You fuckin' up da game now?” Rin smiled
Sesshoumaru chuckled and nodded, “Aa.”

Kagura tapped her fingernails on the desk as she held the phone to her ear, “Don't worry, you're going to get the best lawyer money can buy.”
Naraku's voice came over the phone cold and calculated, “I'm not that worried about it.”
“So what about Sesshoumaru?”
“Make him as uncomfortable as possible when he gets back at school.”
“No problem.” Kagura smiled, “I'll get his little bitch too.”
“You definitely are the wicked witch of the west cousin.”
“Yep, my suspension ended today. By the time Sesshoumaru is out of the hospital and back at school, I'll have Rin on the first plane back to Ghettoland.”
Naraku chuckled, “And how do you think you're going to do that.”
“The best way I know how.” She grinned

After kissing Sesshoumaru almost everywhere he wasn't hurt. They had a snack and she headed back home. When she arrived her parents bombarded her with questions and she provided the answers the best way she could.

“He was shot!” Her mother almost shouted
“And here I was more worried about you being gunned down in Compton.” Rin's father shook his head, “He sounds utterly irresponsible. If he knew how this Naraku kid is…”
“Dad don't.” Rin sighed, “He was trying to protect me.”
“I think that little fight showed that you can take care of yourself.” Rin's father crossed his arm.
“But it's because he knows how Naraku is that he did it.”
“The next words out of your mouth better not be `He loves me' this is not a teen movie!”
Rin burst into a laughing fit which only added fuel to her father's fire.
“I'm not kidding Rin, this is serious.”
“And Naraku is seriously going to prison. Everything will be fine Dad, I know you don't like Sesshoumaru, but for the most part he's…” Rin stopped herself short of being cliché
“He knows what needs to be done in situations like this.” She finished
“I like him.” Her mother interjected, “He seems like a very nice young man.”
Rin's father threw his hands in the air and stomped off.
“He sure is being irrational about this.” Rin shook her head.
Rin's mother put her arm around her daughter, “You're his little girl Rin. You're growing up and finding love…I guess. I guess it hurts him to know that you care so deeply for another man.”
“That's kinda creepy mom.”
“I know, good thing you don't have a brother.” She giggled
“What about T.?”
“I wanted T. to be my son in law. And the way I see things, you're very young and I've got plenty of time.”
“For wishful thinking.” Rin added jumping away from her mother just in case the smart remark would have earned her a smack.
Instead Rin's mother grinned and the asked her if she was hungry.

After she ate Rin headed upstairs and sat on her bed. The day's events were more excitement then she really wanted. But maybe things won't be so tense with Naraku out of the way. Of course someone's going to let the students know what happened. Maybe everyone will leave me alone when they find out Naraku tried to kill Sesshoumaru. Rin shook her head. Of course they won't, this will only sky rocket me into more unwanted popularity. Rin laid down and looked at the ceiling.
“I guess we'll see tomorrow.” She sighed

The next day started out like any other. Getting dressed, having breakfast, and driving to school. This time Rin didn't bother with the one on one with herself. She simply stepped out of her car and walked into the school. Her bravery was rewarded with complete neglect. Everyone's attention was centered somewhere down the hall. Rin frowned, she was happy with that everyone's eyes weren't on her, but she felt weird. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but it made her itchy.

Rin proceeded down the hall and found exactly what was rubbing her the wrong way. Kagura had come back with a boom. Not only was she telling about her recollection of their fight, she was sporting a new hair cut. Her once long hair that had been held up in a bun, was now short and she slightly resembled Major Motoko from Ghost in the Shell. Rin retreated to find her friends before anyone could notice her.

Stealth was never one of Rin's talents, and just like fate would have it, someone shouted out `Hey Rin!”. Now the tide of attention had turned to her and she felt slightly embarrassed for trying to slink away. She looked to Kagura to find the girl smiling with evil intent.
Rin shook her head, “I don't want to hear what you have to say Kagura.” She turned to leave the crowd.
“Why are you running away?” Kagura smirked
Instead of retaliating Rin simply walked away to find her find her friends. She could tell that the day would be frustrating.

When Rin found Kagome and Inuyasha near their first class. She smiled and called out their names.
“Rin.” Kagome smiled
“Hey Kagome, Inuyasha. Did you guy's know that Kagura's back?”
“Yeah.” Inuyasha frowned, “I was hoping that bitch would be too embarrassed to come back to school.”
“Me too Rin.” Kagome nodded, “I guess school just got a little harder for you ne?”
Rin shook her head, “No, I can deal with Kagura.”
The bell rang and Rin said farewell to her friends and headed for her first class.”

Just like the day before there were whispers behind her back. Except now that Kagura was back it seemed that the students had regained their snobby confidence. It was weird, it was as if the school played out a soap opera and somehow Rin had become the villain and Kagura the hero. And just like in a soap opera, the hero has to lose sometimes, but they come back stronger. A stronger pain in da ass.

For the rest of the day Rin kept receiving glares and looks of contempt from her other classmates. As her mind wrapped around the fact that Kagura was back, something else came to her attention. Rin frowned as remembered that Kagura was a trash talking diva and mother of lies. There was no telling what Kagura could be saying about her. Rin let out a sigh and couldn't wait for the day to be over so she could go see Moc.

Rin continued to stare out the window. It was her class before lunch and time seemed to have a personal grudge against her. Each time she glanced at the clock she could have swore it took three times as long for a minute to pass. Maybe it's because Sesshoumaru's not here. Maybe I'm just too ready for this day to be over with. Rin rolled her eyes and continued to watch the birds in the trees and the cars in parking lot.

“Rin!”
Rin's head shot to the direction of the front of the classroom.
“Obliviously you're not paying attention Miss. Takahashi.”
Rin held back the sensation to stick out her tongue she dearly wanted to give the teacher. He never liked her and she might have been better off skipping his class. Hell, she would've been better staying home.
“Sorry Mr. Peterson.”
“How would you like to come up her and solve the next equation?”
Rin shook her head, “I don't think I'll do it right.”
Mr. Peterson's eyebrow hitched, “Then just give it a try.”
“I'm sorry Mr. Peterson, I wouldn't feel comfortable solving an equation I'm not sure about, especially in front of the class.”
“Now don't be facetious Rin, we all saw you perform at the dance.”
Rin frowned at him wanting to throw her textbook at him. She stood with her book in one hand and the other balled into a fist.
“Thank you Miss. Takahashi.”

Rin approached the board and looked over the problem Mr. Peterson had already wrote down. Rin's eyes scanned over the problem and as she began to solve it, a student came into the classroom.

“Sorry to disturb your class Mr. Peterson, but the principle wants to see Rin.”
Mr. Peterson frowned at the student, then at Rin. “Go ahead Rin.”

If everyone wasn't watching she would have let out a sigh of relief. Rin nodded and collected her things. As she left the classroom she did glance at Mr. Peterson and smile. That couldn't have been better timing.

At the office Rin was immediately brought to the principle. He gave her a smile as she sat down. It reminded her of time before she became `popular' and the serious problems with Kagura.
“Thank you for coming Rin.”
“Sure.”
“I had you come here because I was worried about you. For these past few weeks I've notice that you've been having a hard time here.”
“I guess.” Rin shrugged
“Well, with the recent event between you and Miss. Mishimoto, also the attack on Sesshoumaru Taisho, I wanted to make sure you're okay.”
“I'm just fine Mr…”
“Rin I think it's in your best interest to see our school counselor.”
“Counselor?” Rin frowned, “I'm just fine.”
“I know you feel that way, but I think Mr. Taisho's attempted murder might have shaken you. I would hate for such a great student to leave the school. Not only that, I've heard that there are many students here are harassing you.”
Rin let out a sight and then folded her arms. “It's nothing I can't handle. But if you think that it will do any good, I'll talk to the counselor.”
“Thank you Rin.” The principle nodded, “I would like you to see Mrs. Naman instead of going to your next class.”
“Alright.”
“Well, back to class with you.” He smiled

Rin stood and left the office. On her way back to class she thought through what the principle said. Dhere's nothin da fuck wrong wit me! Who da fuck does he think he is. Rin let out a huff and decided to go to her car instead of back to class. Back in her car she sat with her hands on the steering wheel. She could simply leave and take the rest of the day off at home. Rin looked out her window and thought on what she should do. Well I did tell him I would see her. Maybe she'll see dat dere's nothing wrong wit me and leave me da hell alone. Rin frowned and shook her head.

With another sigh Rin made up her mind. She would go and see Mrs. Naman and try and breeze through the rest of the day. Rin rolled her head around her shoulders and turned her radio on, she would just wait until the next class starts and go see the counselor.

`Get Up' by Ciara poured out of Rin's car stereo. She bobbed her head and thought about being back at the gym and dancing with her crew. Before the song could end she heard the bell sound and nodded her head. It's time to get dis over wit. Rin stepped out of her car headed back into school. Many eyes followed her to the counselor's office. Upon entering she found a short and cute Chinese woman waiting for her. The woman smiled and motioned for Rin to follow her.

Inside Mrs. Naman's office Rin took a seat and waited for whatever might happen next.
“Hello Rin, I'm Mrs. Naman.”
Rin nodded, “Hi.”
“You don't seem like you want to be here.”
No shit Sherlock. Rin frowned and nodded once more, “I don't think there's anything wrong with me.”
“Well what do you feel?”
Ah shit! Here come da psychology bullshit. “I feel like this is a waste of time.”
“Mmhm.” Mrs. Naman wrote something down on the notepad in front of her. “Well don't you feel a little…uncomfortable with the attack on your boyfriend.”
“I'm from Chicago, people get attacked all the time.”
“But this isn't Chicago Rin, things like this aren't suppose to happen here.”
“And neither are school shootings suppose to happen in places like Columbine.”
Mrs. Naman took a deep breath and nodded, “Ok, well how to you feel about your new popularity.”
“It's completely unwanted, and people should mind there own business.”
“Well this is high school. What are you doing to deal with this?”
“Ignore them.”
“That's sounds like a good idea. You know that if anyone is bothering you or anything you can come and talk to us.”
“Yes.”
“I know Kagura is back, and that must make you feel a little on edge.”
“As long as she leaves me alone I'm fine.”
“I don't think that will happen.”
“And I agree, so if she keeps her hands to herself there won't be a reoccurrence of the dance.”
“I've spoken with Kagura and seems she has no intention on letting what happened go.”
“Well that's her problem if she wants to hold a grudge.”
“What if she confronts you, what will you do then?”
“I'll try to walk away.”
“It's not always that easy.”
“I know that, look we're just going around in circles here.”
“You don't seem like the kind of girl to be impatient.”
“I'm usually not, but this is pointless.”
Mrs. Naman nodded, “I want you to come and see me every Wednesday after school.”
“I have other activities.”
“I think that your safety at school is more important than any activity.”
“Well if I'm not safe at this school then maybe I should go else where.” Rin stood to leave, her anger starting to over boil.
“And let Kagura win.”
Rin's eyebrow arched as she looked at the counselor.
“If you leave Rin, all you'll do is let Kagura win. She thinks she runs the school and wants to run you off. You're a bright girl Rin and I'm sure you can think of something that will resolve this.”
Rin nodded, “I'm keeping my reserve until Sesshoumaru comes back.”
“He's your person to lean on isn't he?”
“He knows more about this school and everyone here than I do. I'll take his advise into consideration.”
Mrs. Naman smiled, “I'll be talking to him when he gets back.”
“Then you definitely have a challenge lined up for yourself.”
“He's that difficult?”
“Even more so.”
Mrs. Naman chuckled and nodded, “Well, feel free to go back to class.”
Rin picked up her things and headed for the door, “How about lunch on Wednesday instead of after school.”
“Is this activity that important to you?”
“Yeah, it keeps me balanced.”
“What is it?”
“Dancing.” Rin smiled
“Alright then, lunch on Wednesdays then.”

Rin left the counselors office surprisingly happy. I wonder how long I'll have ta do dis? For Rin, the counseling sessions weren't the most important thing to her. Seeing Sesshoumaru well and back at school beside her was her main concern. Just the thought of him lifted her. She decided that the rest of the day was futile and decided to go pay a visit to that important someone.

A/N: Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. I hope you liked this chapter and I can't set a day (not that it helps) for the next chapter. Also, I've been having a lot of problems and lately they've been medical. Hopefully I will be able to continue writing instead of taking the ol' dirt nap. So I'll just pray for the best.
