Day and Night
She gently pulled the blanket around her. Warily she noticed that it smelled like fresh rain. This left a failmar sour taste in her mouth. Yet she couldn't be bitter since stoicism doesn't consent bitterness after all being bitter was an emotion. So instead she let the smell walffal her senses and comfort her.
She wished it had ended different.
She laid on her futon. She wasn't feeling so well but thus had been this way for two months. She felt the hurt, the betrayal, and anger of his choice.
What had she done to deserve this?
She hated her. She who never had anyone before hated this woman-child with passion. What did she have that she herself didn't? That raven haired woman who had taken her love away, a mere woman-shild, a hopeless mortal.
Her heart hurt, it bleed, it scream, it cursed, it broke.
She wanted to kill him for making her feel this way. She wanted to rip his heart into shreds but at last she still loved him. What did she do so wrong? She wanted to grab his hair harshly demanding the death of the raven haired woman but she was to weak to even yell at the demon.
She was dying while he let some young woman brush her soft hands through his hair and sing a soft melody of long forgotten-yet hopeful love. She never done those things for him but she held him tight in the comfinds of their bed. She give him secret smiles over dinner and warm hands at night.
She had given him her heart, body, soul, and strength.
Now that he hadn't chose her he taken those things and crushed them.
He had killed her.
The door to her chamber slid open and she wanted to die.
"How are you." She didn't look at him at his golden eyes begging for forgiveness that she knew she would give if she fell into those golden orbs.
"I am same as I was yesterday." She replied her voice soft but no warmth was laced in her words. She was basically answering him not cold or warm. Just as it was. It was silent then. The moon lighting the imperial room. The moon so wise yet cold the day, the moon was death and she found it's beauty still.
"I do not understand...why you have chosen her." He sat at her feet and forced her to look at him.
"You are dying she walks living. Her love is displayed while you hide yours from eyes not of yours or mine. I do love you and I always will. I love her also and she lives and smiles openly. It is selfish to choose because she will be there once you've left me. Maybe my love for her is stronger, I don't know, but it feels right. I feel healed with her and here I feel pain. It hurts to be here where past memories will not be shared. In afterlife I will follow you but in life I follow her. I love both but can't have both and fate has help me chose my path with my own feelings. I wish you to understand." She nodded. He wanted to avoid the pain which she brought when she couldn't even move out her bed. She the raven haired one brought comfort.
He was selfish. He was a coward when emotions cornered him.
"Then at least tell me of her name?" He raised an eyebrow.
"What will that do?" He asked and she rested her tired head into his lap. His claws ran through her soft long silver hair. Her eyes -a soft orange-closing. He traced the crest moon on her forehead. Her body overcome with sickness and he remembered how she used to dance and run. So full of life. How she bounced and played with their young son how she often talked long with Myouga in the gardens and how when he entered their room after dinner she stoic mask fell and she jumped on him kissing him personally.
"Her name is Izayoi." He said with a smile. She nodded. This Izayoi wasn't her replacement since she could never be replaced. Izayoi was his comfort and his new love that would help him overcome her death. Izayoi was the woman destined to be with InuTashio to his death.
"InuTashio?" Her voice soft as silk her eyes still closed.
"Yes, Sayuka?"
"They say she is as pretty as the night, is so true?" InuTashio laughed a little. Midst of barley living she still wanted to know was she still the prettiest woman he had ever seen.
"She is as pretty as the night as you are day." She smiled then. Later that night she had died so peaceful with her son Sesshomaru in her arms and her head in her mate's lap. She was maybe a little bitter but she thought-
'Maybe,' Sayuka looked down at herself and the two youkai's on the bed 'Maybe...Izayoi will be good for her mate.'
Maybe.
AN: I've always wonder about Sesshomaru's mother. What was she like, did she die? And bluntly where the heck was she? I had InuTashio cheat on Sayuka because I think it was more realistic. This was so easy to write and I'm glad with the outcome. It could have been longer but I am as always short and sweet. Well, review and tell me if you thought the pairing wasn't what you expected.
For my own enjoyment I will be writing a second chapter.
Format messed up? I'll fix it.
