Rin glared ominously at the half-demon when he started to open his mouth once more. The priestess's breathing and tears were finally starting to slow and she didn't want his loud mouth to upset the tentative balance Lady Kagome had achieved.
Inuyasha snapped his mouth shut again, it wasn't that he was scared or anything, it just happened to be extremely creepy that a human child, a female one no less, could pull off an expression that was more akin to his half-brothers likeness than anything else. He shuddered lightly when she glanced at Shippo after looking over the little miko again.
Rin patted the ground next to her seated position, indicating Shippo should sit next to her, quietly. After he did so, just a little hesitantly, she folded her hands lightly in her lap and waited.
Sesshomaru, being the curious demon that he was, all though not many knew this, walked over to stand on the other side of his ward, the kitsune and the girl, the side furthest from his sibling, the slayer and monk. He, like the others, was looking between his ward and the girl. What was Rin trying to do? This was most unlike her.
"Rin, what..." Sesshomaru had just started to ask the little girl what she was doing, and why, when the priestess suddenly uncovered her face with a deep shuddering breath.
Her muddled gaze cleared rapidly, pupils dilating and zeroing in on him with an intensity that was unsettling to everyone, himself included, except Rin who appeared to be the only one who knew what was occurring. It was puzzling to say the least.
Rin stood slowly, moving closer to Kagome, who was still observing the tall demon. "My Lord, your hand please?"
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow, but humored the child, giving her his hand easily. She held his wrist, tugging lightly. He allowed her to guide him until the pads of his fingers briefly touched the forehead of the miko, who was still looking at him, about the time his brother had stopped sputtering and had actually started to protest with a loud "hey!" He pulled back. Rin was smiling though... What a strange child she was at times.
Kagome drew in a deep, noisy breath, making all eyes swing to her, yet again. She felt as if she had just regained sudden, abrupt consciousness and yet it wasn't like that at all because of hazy, clingy memories. It was like she had just emerged from being trapped under fathomless waters, aware but unable to do or say anything to save herself. Bands that had restricted her before broke with starting clarity.
'I was dead, well and truly dead!' It was then she registered She was looking into fathomless golden eyes, and had been for some time. She blinked heavily a few times, before lowering her own blue-silver gaze to the ground just a head of herself.
She became fully aware of the others surrounding her, although she had been in a peripheral sort of fashion before now, but everything was just much more clear to her now then it had been...
One thing that was abundantly clear to her, she would deal with now. She bowed, her hands the only thing keeping her face from touching the ground. "Thank you Lord Sesshomaru." She said in a reserved voice.
He gave a slight nod of his regal silver haired head before looking off into the tree's surrounding them. He had questions, but was unwilling to voice said questions here and now.
"Rin, we depart." He looked back to the girl before continuing "now."
Rin answered his summons immediately, as if she had reverted back to the carefree child she normally was and had not been acting so strange up until a minute ago. "Yes, Lord Sesshomaru!"
As her Lord turned away from her to walk back into the more dense part of the forest, she snagged Shippo's arm, pulling him to his feet and a little away from the audience around the miko.
She leaned into the kitsune, keeping her voice low so as not to be overheard by the others, who were paying them no real attention. "Keep a close eye on Lady Kagome. She might have bad dreams and other problems from my Lord having to find and bring her back to herself." Rin was looking at him very seriously, but he was slightly confused about her words and what she meant. 'Find her? But she didn't go anywhere... Bring her back?'
All of a sudden it clicked for him, still he wanted clarification, just to be sure.
"Oh! You mean from her. D. D.. Di..." He swallowed hard not being able to say it out loud, glancing at the miko before meeting Rin's eyes again. The little girl was looking at him with very solemn, somber eyes.
She nodded her head yes.
With that grave, unwelcome news delivered, she followed after her Lord once more.
