*The Next Day at the Village*

Kagome was back. She was alive. She didn't remember them, and she was gravely injured. They could see that Kouga had helped her as much as he could, but they were demons and she was human, she wouldn't heal the same way. Sango and Miroku would help. Inuyasha would help. Even Shippo would so what she could. Shippo was talking again. He wasn't talking a lot, but he would talk to them now. Sango was happier now. She stopped crying so often, but she would have nightmares still. Miroku had started meditating again, and he even groped Sango, although Sango was to happy to slap him which pleased Miroku even more. And Inuyasha didn't have his normal nightmare that night. Instead he dreamed of some of his favorite memories with Kagome. There was also no doubt Kagome didn't know that she was from 500 years in the future. How would the group explain that one? They decided to take things one at a time. While Kagome had walked out with Kouga, the group talked.

“Inuyasha, Sango, aren't you excited? You hardly had any reaction when Kagome came. I thought you would be happy.” Kaede said. “Shippo was the only one with a reaction, and Miroku was the only one that said anything to her. I know you are shocked, but I think it has made Kagome upset, as if she doesn't belong.”

“She's right, you should have said something to her. I have no doubt she is telling Kouga that she thinks you hate her. I'm not scolding you, I understand it's hard, but please make an effort. Do it for Kagome.” Miroku added.

“I know, and now I feel guilty about it. I'm still can't believe it though. She's suddenly back in our lives now. I'm not complaining, but it's going to take time to get used to her. I was so sure I would never see her again.” Sango said.

“But how are we going to help her with her memories though?” Shippo asked, curious.

“It's going to be hard, but remember, although we are all hurting from the incident, it is probably Kagome that is hurting the most.” Inuyasha finally spoke up. The group nodded, but didn't reply since Kouga and Kagome had returned.

“We need to talk about Kagome Inuyasha.” Kouga said, while motioning for him to follow him back out.

*With Kouga and Inuyasha*

“What do you want to talk about Kagome?” Inuyasha asked.

“Kagome is still fragile, she tries to hide it but she is. Her stomach still has a hole, although it's healing nicely. She can walk on her own, but she still limps. Sometimes she need to hold on my arm, so I assume she will also need to hold on yours. She still has some nightmares occasionally. Don't wake her, just rub her back and talk smoothly to her. Wake her up if it's really bad. She also feels as if you don't like her. She feels unwelcome because some of the villagers have been staring at her. Make sure she feels welcome. She has cuts and bruises all over her body, probably from the fall. As far as I can tell, she still has her miko powers. I have informed her some of her some of memories, and reminded her who I was. It will probably take a while for her to feel comfortable with you. Teach her some of her old memories little by little. Don't cram everything into a week. It took a week to teach her of the experiences she had that involved her. I will also spend the night here and leave tomorrow. I will be coming back to check on her once a week. I will also continue pursuing Naraku. I know you haven't, so I will help you to. I won't fight you anymore for now. Truce?” Kouga explained.

“A truce for now is fine. You should also explain this to Kaede, since she is the healer of this village. I will take your advice. We had just talked about it in the hut while you were out with Kagome. Please understand we don't hate her and she is welcome, it's just a shock.”

“I understand and I have explained it to her as well. She isn't comfortable yet, abut after a couple of days I'm sure she will. We should head back now, Kagome and the others are probably waiting for us.”

*Inside the Hut*

“So Kagome how are you feeling?” Sango asked.

“I'm feeling a lot better, thank you. My stomach still hurts, and so do my arms and legs.” Kagome replied.

“Well that's good to hear. It's good that you are progressing.” Miroku added.

“We really missed you Kagome! I'm glad your back!” Shippo piped up. “Do you think maybe I could sit in your lap? I really missed you.”

“Sure Shippo. But try not to move around to much, and don't lean to hard against my stomach please.” Kagome replied. As Shippo climbed on to her lap Miroku and Sango both noticed that he careful not to touch her stomach at all.

“So Kagome, aside from getting stabbed in the stomach and falling off a cliff, how have you been?” Miroku asked, trying to turn it into a joke.

“Well, it still hurts a lot. When I was found, my arm was broken, both of my legs were broken, a lot of skin had fallen off from under my knee, you could see the bone! And I was covered with cuts and bruises. A lot of the minor cuts have healed, and some of the bruises are starting to fade. My arm is still broken, but my legs have mostly healed. I haven't had a good bath yet, so I will probably have one later, maybe after dinner. Would you like to join me Sango?”

Sango smiled. Even after all that she has been through, Kagome always need to have a bath.

“Sure Kagome, that would be great. We can go after supper.”

“All right. I can start to make some food. Is there anything that needs to be prepared?”

“No, it's fine Kagome. Sango and I can do it on our own. If your certain you can though, you can accompany Shippo in getting some water from the river.” Miroku said.

“All right, let's go Shippo.” Kagome said, setting Shippo down so he could walk on his own.

“Oh and Kagome, leave through the back door, that way you can escape Kouga and Inuyasha. It's closer to the river anyway.” Sango said, opening the back door for them.

“Ok. Thanks Sango. We'll return once we have the water. You need about a bucket full right?”

“Yes, that's fine. Thanks again.”

“Bye!” Kagome and Shippo called out. Two minutes after they left, Kouga and Inuyasha came in through the front door.
