Kagome was asleep in her room, having not bothered to slip underneath her covers and just slept right on top of the well folded sheets of the mattress. The bed was queen size but if felt like a king since it was big! It had beautiful sheer curtains draped around and the darkness within her bed was nice. It was enough to have the girl fall right asleep within minutes upon laying on the softness.

The room had her own walk in shower and she loved that at least.

Her long slumber was interrupted when her stomach began to growl. Oh right, she had skipped lunch today due to all the moving. Kagome’s eyes opened and woke up to darkness, nearly forgetting where she was. That’s right, a new home she was going to be living in for who knows how long…

Kagome slid out of bed and bare feet touched crimson carpeted floors, definitely not used to living in luxury all of a sudden. Especially with… Youkai.

Yes. This was a world where humans and youkai co-existed. Surprisingly, the world remained stable, no wars at present… Life going on as normal. Humans had their land, Youkai had their land and everything was in order. As long as the opposing races kept to themselves then all was good. Crime was still there, of course, but nothing too major.

Kagome briefly glanced at herself in the tall standing mirror, her hands combing her shoulder length dark locks with her fingers, setting those strands back into place. She glanced down at her spaghetti stringed sundress, a pale yellow color, stopping just before her knees and wondered if she should change. It was only mid-afternoon, anyway.

Shoulders rolled in a shrug as she decided to not change, now pacing for the door. She’d exit her room as a soft sigh escaped her lips and those eyes found a little girl skipping down the hallway and this had her questioning who she was. That girl stopped in her tracks and took a glance back at Kagome with a bright smile there upon her face, waving at her.

“Kon’nichiwa!”

And there she went again, continuing to skip down those hallways without a care in the world. She’d pass a servant and they smiled at the girl with the girl smiling right back. So, she lived here too? Why had her mother not told of her?

Well, whatever, she didn’t wish to think anymore about it because sating her hunger came first. So, she’d head down those stairs to the main floor where she was earlier that day and now she looked lost. Oh dear. Where was the kitchen?! She didn’t want to wander somewhere she should be and get into trouble… That was the last thing on her mind.

“You look like you’re lost.”

An unfamiliar voice heard by then and she looked around for the source, it came from behind her and to her right, watching someone come down those stairs. A silver haired male with… Ears?

He was fastening his tie around his neck, wearing a sharp red dress shirt and black dress pants, black dress shoes and looked like he was ready to head out. His blazer was draped over his forearm and Kagome remained silent when she watched him come down those steps, now nodding her head at his statement as she was in fact lost. This house was too damn big.

He’d make it to the bottom of the steps and that’s when Kagome took a better look at his features. He was silver haired and assumed his father was Mr. Taisho. But what got her the most were those cute little doggy ears atop his head! She wanted to pet them. This male saw that look on her face when her gaze went to his ears and immediately they twitched, “Oi, the ears are off limits.” Shooting her a warning glare.

Kagome’s gazed dropped back to the male and she smiled lightly but he looked quite annoyed by now as he seemed to struggle with that tie.

“Let me help.”

The soft voice from the girl in front of him was heard and he looked at her as she smiled in return. Eyes blinked slowly and soon he’d remove his hands from his neck, Kagome’s own hands reaching forwards and went to assist him in fixing up his tie. First, she had to roll up his collar and then she’d tie that tie around his neck, making a neat tie and movements were fluid. Collar was now folded over the tie when she finished and pulled her hands away, folding them in front of her.

“Oh… Thanks.”

Clawed finger hooked his collar to adjust to his preference and once done, he’d now regard the girl in front of her with a grin.

“Names’ Inuyasha. You must be Kagome, right?” Speaking up to her as he slipped on his blazer over his dress shirt.

Oh, so this was the youngest son? Kagome offered Inuyasha a small bow of the head in greeting.

“Yes, I am.”

Her voice was soft. She was actually not half bad looking, either. He was taller than her by a few inches, her body looked to be in shape too and the dress she wore fitted her perfectly. Now if only all girls dressed appropriately like her then he would actually appreciate human women more. Kagome felt his eyes on her but she remained there all the while with a smile upon her lips. They were not related but they were family now so… It was hard to deduce on that exactly.

“You have a cute smile, I like that.”

Her scent wasn’t bad, either. It was pleasant—Sakura flowers.

Kagome blushed lightly, having not thought he’d compliment her but it was welcomed either way. Inuyasha could hear her heartbeat pick up when he said those words to her and smirked inwardly. But then he’d turn, motioning for her to follow. Kagome eyed him questioningly but she would follow the male to whereabouts unknown.

They’d leave the main area, making their way left out of that hall. Now they’d be walking down a decorative hallway for just a bit and then they took another left and down the hall, she saw a wide open room to her right and saw the light that came through. Was this the kitchen? Indeed it was! Inuyasha stepped inside and Kagome took her time to head in as well, her eyes going everywhere. It was so fancy!

Right in front of her some feet ahead would be the island with the shiniest marble top counter ever, polished to perfection. Beneath were the wooden cupboards that looked to be brown but near reddish in color and it looked so shiny, too. Now around the island was an upside down ‘U’ shaped counter top with bar stools evenly spaced around it. And within that counter were the sinks, dishwashers and other cupboards that hold the pots, pans and the like. Now outside the countertop were more cupboards and that held two stoves, two microwaves and the biggest fridge ever that was embedded into the wall. And just above all that was another shelf used for decoration as there were vases placed all around the kitchen walls.

“Wow…”

Inuyasha smirked upon hearing the girl speak as she eyed the kitchen but he couldn’t waste anymore time as he would be quickly heating up a meat bun in that toaster.

“Just so it’s easy for you to remember—left, left, right.”

Kagome looked to Inuyasha when he spoke to her and was confused at first but she knew what he was talking about. The main area where she would be coming down from, she had to head left then take another left at the first hallway and then to her right was the kitchen.

Kagome nodded her head again, “Thank you.”

Inuyasha popped that meat bun out of the toaster and grabbed up that stuffed bread when it came out, “No problem. Feel free to make anythin’ you want. I think your mother made some pastries earlier for my dad. It’s in the fridge.”

Kagome smiled at Inuyasha and she already could see herself liking him.

“Oh, by the way… I saw a little girl earlier… Does she live here too?”

Inuyasha blinked slowly but he knew who she was talking about, “You mean Rin? Yeah, Sesshoumaru adopted her. Her mother used to serve for us but she passed away when Rin was born, not sure what happened to her father, though. She had nowhere to go but Sesshoumaru made the offer to keep her as a ‘servant’ so my father shoved all responsibility to him.”

She saw him grin and wondered why as brows slowly rose in surprise.

“He didn’t like it at first but he soon got over it. Who knew, eh?”

Inuyasha then munched on that bun, scarfing that piece down quickly. It was obvious the guy was in a rush.

“’Kay, I need to go. Won’t be back until later tonight along with my dad and I think Sesshoumaru is almost ready. Take care, Kagome.”

He’d give the girl a two-fingered salute and he was off, leaving the girl alone in the kitchen. Well, that was interesting! Kagome moved to the fridge and found the covered basket her mom always used to keep her pastries in and took out a meat bun Inuyasha had also taken out earlier. Kagome looked around for a paper towels and found it easily, now using one of the microwaves to heat it up.

Kagome now left the kitchen with that meat bun wrapped up in a paper towel, casually biting into it every now and then and chewed silently. She didn’t want anything big to eat so this was good enough for her. And she began to smile to herself as her mother’s cooking still tasted just as good as ever for the past eighteen years now.

Maybe this life wouldn’t be so bad?

Kagome managed to remember where she was going and saw the main living room where she just was earlier. She’d arrive there again, having finished that meat bun and felt much better! She licked her lips slowly and to her right where the main stairs were, she’d seen a figure come down those stairs and saw another flash of silver hair.

Was that Sesshoumaru?

He was tall… Much taller than her. Slender, too, but she knew he had an athletic frame of sorts. His skin was perfect, unblemished with no scars at all. He had waist length silver hair and bangs, along with a pair of magenta stripes upon both cheeks and lastly, there was a crescent moon within the middle of his forehead, purple in color. This had got to be Mr. Taisho’s elder son no doubt. They had strikingly similar looks. Amber hues of the male were kept ahead, having not sensed Kagome’s presence at all when he’d reach the bottom of those stairs and Kagome watched him with an observing eye, seeing his strong gait that held an air that definitely reminded her of his father.

He wore a sharp suit that was similar to his father’s but this one had a purple undershirt with golden cufflinks and the works. He definitely dressed to impress.

That’s when a pleasant scent wafted into his nose, his nostrils flaring briefly and head turned to glance upon Kagome, the girl who would be the source of the scent… A girl he had not noticed before. At first he wondered who she was and why she was here but then it dawned to him. Today was the day Mrs. Higurashi and her children would be living within their home, no?

Ocean blues met with those strikingly bright ambers and her heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t stop her blush from rising upon her cheeks when she viewed his beauty so she would quickly bow her head in greeting to the eldest son or she would be caught staring. She didn’t want to make a bad impression.

No words were left for the girl as his gaze didn’t linger for long, now leaving her there and exited his home.

Kagome exhaled out through a heavy breath when Sesshoumaru took his leave, feeling air return to her lungs as if he sucked it all out of her due to his good looks.

With her alone in that living room again, save for the passing maids and butlers that were cleaning up the place, she would be off, heading back to her room without another word.

“This mansion is so big Houjou-kun! I wish I could show you someday…”

Houjou chuckled, ‘I hope they treat you well, Kagome. Have you been to all the rooms yet?’

“Nope… Maybe I’ll take a tour tomorrow or something.”

…Will you be okay? Knowing that they are, you know…’

Kagome frowned. She knew Houjou didn’t like youkai so much. In fact, he was the first one to be against Kagome in going. He knew of the Inu Clan. Actually, who didn’t? They were a powerful clan that had reined Japan for years and owned a large part of the lands, too. It was because of them Houjou’s family ran out of business. And ever since, he hated youkai with a passion.

Kagome?

“O-oh. Yes! I’ll be fine, don’t worry. They all seem friendly and welcoming so I do not mind! I just… wish I could spend more time with you. We were supposed to go on vacation together.”

Houjou heard her sigh through the phone and he smiled.

It’s alright, Kagome. Maybe next year we could plan something else. But cheer up; at least you can now attend to that university you’ve always wanted to go to.

“Yeah… I guess.”

Kagome sighed and rolled over within her bed, gazing up at the ceiling of her canopy.

Well, talk to you later, Kagome. I have to get up early tomorrow for work. It’ll be busy at the shop with summer vacation and all that.’

“Oh, that’s right… Well, okay, Houjou-kun. It was great talking to you again. I’ll talk to you later.”

You too. Call me anytime if you want to talk, though. I’m available mostly in the afternoon every day.’

“Yeah, of course. Oyasumi, Houjou-kun.”

Oyasumi, Kagome.’

Click.

Kagome slipped out of her bed when she got off of the phone with her boyfriend, Houjou, throwing her phone back onto the bed and she went to take her shower.

She’d emerge out from the steamy room about half an hour later, slipping into her sheer silken nightgown that dropped to her knees. Then she went to the door and opened it to find a covered plate of food on the floor, blinking at it curiously. Oh wait, did she miss dinner? Well, she did take a nap earlier.

She bent down and picked up her tray and when she moved to stand, she found a pair of amber hues boring hard into her. She gasped out in surprise at their sudden arrival and almost dropped her tray but she gripped onto it tightly, now staring up at the eldest son of the home, Sesshoumaru. Where the hell did he come from?! She did not sense him at all. He regarded her with a cold, icy expression, nearly looking at her as if he was disgusted.

He said nothing to her as those seconds went and Kagome wasn’t sure what to say to him. Should she ignore him? That would be rude, wouldn’t it?

“Uhh… M-my name is Kagome. Kagome Higurashi.” Quickly bowing her head before the male.

Sesshoumaru still hadn’t said anything, observing her form with eyes slightly narrowing. In truth, on his way back to his room, he had heard the girl speak and had to wonder who she was talking to. Seems she had a ‘boyfriend’, or whatever those humans would call it. It was none of his concern, actually. But he was curious to see the girl since he had no chance earlier. Already his ward took a liking to her, to his dismay.

“You were not present for dinner.”

Eh? Was that it? Again Kagome bowed her head to apologize, “My apologies. It seems I fell asleep…”

Sesshoumaru’s nostrils flared to inhale her scent, catching that sweet aroma of Sakura flowers when she gave her reply.

“Hn.”

Sesshoumaru had once despised humans greatly but as of late, he found out they had some use. They were still vile creatures, save for the few that he found to be exceptional. That being Rin. He didn’t think a young girl would warp his views on a race in just eleven years.

Still. There were some he despised and Kagome lumped right into that, especially the fact that her mother managed to take his father’s hand in marriage. Never had he been so disgusted to see that his father would eventually mate to a human for a second time. Could he not see that they were all weak, feeble creatures? Just what was it that he saw in them that he could not?

Well, whatever, it wasn’t something he cared about.

“I’m going to sleep now so, goodnigh—“

“Have you no manners?”

Kagome nearly winced at his tone and knew he was quite annoyed. What had she done wrong to upset him?

“I’m sorry?”

Sesshoumaru’s eyes narrowed to dangerous slits and Kagome would cower beneath his gaze, unable to get herself out of this situation.

“You will address this Sesshoumaru properly if you are living under our roof.”

Are you serious? She gazed at him questioningly and wondered if he was joking but coming from that look on his face, he surely wasn’t.

“Then… what…”

“The proper honorifics should suffice.”

Well. He was centuries older than her and the eldest of the house, so…

“Onii-san?”

Sesshoumaru growled lowly and was ready to strangle her to put her in her place but fought against it, knowing that may not end well for her or him. She saw that angered look and wondered what she did wrong! Again! Was that not correct? Wait…

“Onii-sama…?”

She’d seen his face return to its same stoic expression, no longer looking annoyed but still she could see he wasn’t impressed. But this honorific pleased him as he gave a nod of his head. So, she had to address him this way from now on? Oh dear.

Without another word, Sesshoumaru left, disappearing down the long hallway.

Such an exchange with the eldest son. And that was a great impression on his part, too. She knew that he didn’t care, though.

Kagome sighed softly and returned to her room to eat her dinner in peace. She was thankful that her room had a television so that she could get her mind going elsewhere.

Kagome was now on tour of that home when the weekend came along and her guide would be none other than Rin. She was such a sweet little girl and Kagome found herself to like the girl more and more as she spent time with her.

Rin would show her every crook and cranny of the home, lastly ending it all with the garage that held so many expensive cars in it… How much money did this clan have?!

Rin let her inside the garage and Kagome took a look around, eyeing the cars and wondered who owned which ones.

“Oh, Kagome-sama!”

Kagome turned from her spot within the presently tiled garage, looking upon Rin who was standing next to a car.

“Yes, Rin?”

“Would you like to test drive one? Taisho-sama says it’s okay!”

Kagome gasped. Test drive?!? Any one of them?! She couldn’t do that! She didn’t even have her license! Rin giggled when Kagome looked to be flabbergasted by the idea with mouth agape. And right on time, Inuyasha would be making his appearance within that garage, having heard of the current conversation with his ‘sisters’.

“Ah, Inuyasha-sama!”

“Hey, Rin.” Now he turned to look over towards Kagome, “Come on, let’s go, Kagome. You don’t have your license yet, do you? It’s okay, I’ll teach ya.”

Oh dear god. She was about to be taught driving by Inuyasha? Why did this whole thing sound like one bad idea?!

“Sugoi! Come on, Kagome-sama!” And off that little girl went, grabbing up the keys for the one car she was already standing next to. Inuyasha smirked at Kagome but she still seemed to not move from her spot.

“Ah, m-maybe this isn’t such a good idea...”

“Nonsense, come on!”

Inuyasha would approach Kagome after taking just a few steps her way, the girl blushing lightly when he grinned at her and then she felt his arm snaking around her waist to lead her towards the car Rin was getting the keys for. She was pulled close to Inuyasha and this had her blushing even more and tried to focus on other things now, like Rin returning with the keys to the car.

It was a jet black Lexus GS F of the latest year. It looked so new, it was possible it hasn’t even been driven. Rin unlocked the car by pressing the unlock key and two beeps were heard, Inuyasha departing from her side and opened the driver’s seat. The moment that door was opened, she peered inside and she caught that new car smell almost immediately. So it hasn’t been driven?! What if she crashed it!

She took one last look to Inuyasha who looked to be quite excited for this and she sighed.

Well, there was nothing to do on a Saturday, so…

Kagome climbed in the driver’s seat on the right side and once she settled in, Inuyasha closed the door and would walk around to open the passenger door, slipping in the car and took that seat and Rin would climb in the back seat, closing the door behind her.

She scooted close so that she could peer just between the space from the two seats in front, grinning widely at Kagome who was now looking over the interior of the car. Leather seats and they were clean to perfection. So many buttons and modules… What should she even do next?!

“First, press your foot on the brakes,” Pausing to lean over and point to where said breaks were and once he pointed it out, she pressed her foot upon it lightly but Inuyasha would grasp her leg just above the knee and pushed gently, “All the way down.”

His warm touch didn’t help the situation she was having and tried not to think about it as her foot managed to press the breaks all the way.

“Now, press that button next to the steering wheel on your left.”

Button? Kagome leaned over to her left and saw said button that said ‘Push to start’ in Kanji. She pressed it and immediately the car started up and she gasped, hearing that smooth engine run so perfectly. Like a loud purr coming from one big lion.

“Wow…”

“You like that, eh? Now, put your left hand on the gearshift,” Pausing to indicate what that was which would be the stick that had some gears on it. She had no idea what they were, though. “You can only move it if you have your foot on the breaks so now, move the gear to ‘D’.”

Gosh. Kagome was so nervous and Inuyasha could smell it in her scent. She felt like she was going to do something wrong and cause a lot of trouble but Inuyasha was here to help and Rin was also here to give her moral support. A shame Souta couldn’t make it, he was with her mother right now, shopping for clothes.

Kagome eventually did as told; shifting the gear to drive and the car gave a light jerk. Did she do it right? Clueless eyes gazed up at Inuyasha and he’d nod. “You got it. Now, let go of the breaks gently…”

Kagome moved her hands to the steering wheel once more and the moment she eased up her hold on the breaks, the car inched forwards and it was moving! Rin gasped in surprise at this and was amazed to see that Kagome was moving the car.

“Move up a little more…” And so she did, still keeping her foot on the brake pedal just in case, the car slowly moving out into the wide space and now she saw Inuyasha point to the right, “And turn to your right by turning the wheel.”

Slowly she did so and felt so nervous because she felt like she was going to hit something. The perception from inside the car was different than outside! Once Kagome managed to get out of that parking spot, Inuyasha’s hand rose and pressed a button near the overhead lights and then Kagome saw the garage door opening. Wait, she was going to drive it out!?

“Yay! We’re going outside!”

Once it was fully open, Inuyasha turned to Kagome, indicating for her to drive forwards. The garage was large enough, thank heavens, about two cars wide and left her enough space to head out. Now she was within that neatly paved driveway with the large fountain off to her left some feet away, Inuyasha instructing her to keep this speed until she was comfortable in driving a bit faster. Kagome could see all the indicators on the dashboard, especially in front of her when she noticed the digital display. She was currently traveling 5 mph with a completely full gas tank and holy shit! The car only had 10 miles on it.

So it was only driven once?

And now, Kagome was beginning to find this fun with Inuyasha’s help, the male now telling her to drive ahead, taking the road down from their home which was just one long curve bend and headed down a small hill. It was easy and it seems Kagome got the hang of it somewhat. They only drove down to the main gates and then Inuyasha showed her how to make a U-turn, in which she messed up a few times but managed in the end, now driving back to the mansion.

The car ran so smooth all the way to and from the mansion and once they returned, she would be returning it back into the garage, parking it back in the same spot it was initially.

“See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?”

Kagome smiled back at the male, “Yeah, it wasn’t. Thank you for your help, Inuyasha.”

He grinned right back at Kagome with a slight blush upon his cheeks, “Any time, Kagome.”

Kagome shut the car off when Inuyasha showed her how and now they’d be exiting out from the car, Rin running off to hang up the keys and the three of them would be heading back inside after that bit of fun.

“You know, if you want, you can have that car, Kagome.”

Kagome’s eyes blinked and eyes widened just slightly upon hearing the words from Inuyasha. She could have it?! But it looked so expensive! And luxurious!

“A-are you sure? I mean… I don’t even have my license yet.”

“Well, obviously when you get your license, silly.”

And again he would slink his arm around her waist after Rin ran off inside and Kagome blushed lightly at the sudden closeness but she knew he wasn’t interested in her like that so… There was no problem, right?

“Actually, to be honest, we was about to sell that car back to the dealership but you came just in time. It’ll be put to good use.”

Kagome blinked slowly when she heard him speak and head tilted curiously, “Eh? You mean to tell me every car in that garage has been used or is currently being used right now?”

Inuyasha nodded his head, “Yep. There’s a car for every occasion and what mood you’re feelin’ for.”

Kagome couldn’t believe what she was hearing. How rich were they?! And to think she was going to be a part of this life… Wow. And while they walked along those halls, they began to conversate and Kagome got to know more about her new ‘step-brother’. He was actually a hanyou—a male that was born from a youkai and human parent. She’d learn of his mother, Izayoi, who died shortly after his birth. She was terminally ill with a sickness about three hundred years ago, a disease that was hard to find the cure for at the time.

Poor Inuyasha.

Sesshoumaru had long caught those two that had been spending some quality time together in which he would ignore but for some reason, it aggravated him. Inuyasha was already putting his scent all over her, likely claiming the girl as his property. The Inu clan were known to be very possessive of their treasures, no matter what they were, human or not, and it seems Inuyasha had already found his gem. And Sesshoumaru was always one to challenge his brother and his possessions, no matter the object.

To think the hanyou had an interest in their newest sister… Another trait gained from his father that Sesshoumaru had just recently discovered. What was this, jealously? Over his own half-brother? Absurd. Yet here he was, watching the hanyou already warm up to their newest family member and Sesshoumaru knew that hanyou was being watched by him.

And on cue, Inuyasha leaned in towards Kagome to whisper something into her ear in which she blushed, the act done on purpose so that his brother could watch from where ever he was. Kagome shivered when she felt his warm breath waft over her ear and her neck, nearly missing his words entirely. Whatever he whispered to her, Kagome began to giggle quite a bit, Inuyasha leaning away and grinned at the girl at his success in making the girl laugh.

Again, Sesshoumaru claimed to not care but why was so he annoyed right now?

Inuyasha led Kagome to the den, which in fact was one really big lounge area. Cushioned seating all around, one big ‘L’ couch as well, placed right in front of a large, widescreen television. And on the other end of that room was a small bar too, Inuyasha peeling away from Kagome and was off to that bar and Kagome settled in to the couch, eyes peering over the table and found one single remote. Was this the one that controlled the television?

“Want anythin’ to drink, Kagome?”

In minutes, Rin would arrive in that den along with Souta who had also returned from outside.

“Nee-chan! Rin-san told me you drove a car!”

Kagome laughed lightly at Souta’s surprise, the body coming to sit beside his sister on her left with Rin placed by her right.

“Yeah, I did. I had some help with Inuyasha’s instructions, though. And no thanks, Inuyasha. I’m fine for now.”

Said hanyou would return with a glass of water in his hands since Kagome did not wish to have anything to drink, nodding to both the young ones that arrived and went to reach forwards for that remote and turned on the television. And now the four of them would be watching t.v., relaxing on that Saturday afternoon.

Some hours would pass and Kagome found herself still in that lounge yet everyone else had long left. She would be lying upon the sofa with cushion beneath her elbow that had her head resting in her palms, now flicking through all the channels. Nothing of interest came up so she’d just leave it on the news. After some minutes, she heard some footsteps heading down the hall and wondered who it could be.

She remained at her spot though, not having said anything until said presence would arrive in that lounge. She heard even more footsteps that drew closer to her spot on the couch and now she’d feel a shadow loom over her. From the corner of her eyes, she knew exactly who it was.

Sesshoumaru.

She didn’t bother looking at him, though. In fact, she completely ignored his presence and that had this eldest son even more annoyed at the girl when she chose to do so. Kagome could feel his eyes on her but still, she remained as is, keeping her eyes on the television and pretended that she was listening to the news.

“It seems you have taken a liking to my half-brother.”

His voice was heard in that small space and she smiled with a slow nod of her head. “He’s nice. He even taught me how to drive today.” In which she was thankful for. “I like him a whole lot.” And then she heard a sound coming from him that she hadn’t heard before… Was he growling?

Kagome’s head turned and looked up at Sesshoumaru who was currently glaring down at her with slight annoyance. She would smile back to his surprise for reasons unknown, “Is there something wrong, Nii-sama?”

His growl died down yet something that tone she took… It set him off. Almost as if she was mocking him. Was she? Kagome didn’t mean it as it wasn’t her intent; she was just teasing, a little harmless joke of sorts. But apparently he may have taken it the wrong way. In seconds, she felt a strong grip at her hip, his movements so fast and before she could recognize what was going on, Sesshoumaru leaned down to glare deep into those ocean blues of hers, “From now on, you will address this Sesshoumaru appropriately when I grace your presence.”

He’d expect a reply from her but she didn’t say anything, or rather, she was having hard time trying to give one since his face was so close. So close to a point where their noses were just barely touching. She blushed heavily; having seen those ambers bore hard into her soul and quickly turned her head away to avert her gaze. She couldn’t stand looking at his pretty face any longer. And why did he have to shove his face so close!? Of course she got the point. Were Inu Youkai always this pushy?

Sesshoumaru did not hear her acknowledgement and the hold on her hip tightened, Kagome’s eyes narrowing in annoyance and wondered what his problem was. Like, really!

“Do you understand?”

His voice took a tone posed as a threat and knowing his nature and his status? It was far from a bluff. Those words were said so close to her ear, she shivered and Sesshoumaru could smell the small trace of nervousness yet anger within her scent. Kagome was definitely not liking Sesshoumaru at all at this point but she knew he did not care at all. Why did he have to be such a jerk?

“Yeah, yeah. Alright, Nii-sama.” Rolling her eyes.

And finally he would leave her be, removing his grip from her waist and felt the cool air rush to that spot when his hand removed. His hand was so warm, just like Inuyasha’s touch. And that was another thing, why did they feel the need to… touch her? She had noticed it as of late for the past few days now. She did not mind it but… She had hoped they knew their boundaries.

Soon after Sesshoumaru arrived, he had long left, again, Kagome left there in the den by herself.

The silence she liked and hoped she’d be getting a lot more of it as she could not stand these youkai right now.
