The Ride Home

*School bell* “Finally the first day of the year is done!” cried Miroku as Inuyasha, Sango, Koga, Ayame and the new girl Kagome sigh and cheered. “Well there's the bus see ya!” “Wait you ride that bus?” Inuyasha asked with hopefulness. “Yeah, why do you?” “Yep, so I guess you can sit by me if you like.” He turned to the bus when he heard “Yeah, ok that's way I can talk to you some more.” Inuyasha sighed softly to himself as he and Kagome climbed aboard the bus where new and old would be foretold. *loud talking* “Hey Inuyasha are you ok? You seem kind of out of it.” Kagome asked as she turned to face Inuyasha, who was looking out the window thinking. “Huh? Oh I'm fine why?” “Well since we got on the bus you haven't said a thing.” Inuyasha turned to face as he looked her dead in the eyes. “I've seen you before, right?” “Um, well *sigh* I guess it took longer to remember, but we met once when you were 7 and I was 6.” Inuyasha looked shocked there's no way she could be her! He looked at her up and down when he asked, “Do you have a bite mark on your left shoulder?” Kagome smiled gently at him as she whispered in his ear “I'll show you at home.” And then Inuyasha's eyes went wide for she was sucking on the tip of his dog-ear. `Mmm…this…feels…nice!' But then feeling left him which saddened him till he whimpered a cry. “Hehe, now now Inu we're here.” He looked out to see the very shrine he used to always come to, to see her. “Well let's get going!” He grabbed her hand and ran off the bus to her home. `Maybe now we can be what we were again.' Kagome thought as he and her raced off to the shrine and their past.
