InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Demon Song ❯ Realizations ( Chapter 5 )
Previously in chapter 4:
"Let go of me! You're acting like Miroku!" Suddenly Sesshomaru's face started to change. Kagome watched, horrified, as Sesshomaru's face contorted and twisted to form a new one. His new face looked neither young, nor old, but had no resemblance to him in the least bit. He now had dark black/blue hair that was long in the front and short in the back. The robes and fur fell away, revealing the imposters bare chest and sleek leather pants. Something glowed around his neck but Kagome was too distracted to notice it.
"What did you do with Sessh…?" The last thing Kagome saw before she passed out was the imposter with an odd smile on his face, his mouth moved and she thought she could make out the words,
"Nighty-night."
Chapter 5:
Kagome woke up to the sound of heavy breathing and a searing pain in her head. As her eyelids fluttered open she wondered why her head hurt so much. I probably just slept on it wrong, she thought to herself. Then she recalled the past nights happenings; Sesshomaru, the imposter… She wondered what had become of Sesshomaru. Had he been captured as well?
She lifted her hand to rub her throbbing head, but her hands were tied together with a stiff rope. She groaned. Why me? What did I do wrong?
Kagome suddenly remembered the heavy breathing that had woken her up partially. She looked around for the breather. Her eyes locked on a large slumped figure almost hidden by the shadows. She watched the figure stir and take in a painful breath. She realized that the figure was Sesshomaru.
"Sesshomaru, what happened?" She cried. She realized her mistake at once; her voice echoed loudly around the room. She stifled herself. Sesshomaru dragged himself over to where she sat. She took note of how he dragged his leg behind him. She decided not to say anything about it, and try to distract him from his obviously broken limb.
"What happened?" she asked again. This time she was careful to keep her voice low incase someone heard them. Sesshomaru looked up at her; his eyes were burning with pain. She realized that he probably had more than just a broken leg; why else would he be in so much pain? Sesshomaru opened his mouth to try to explain what had happened, but the pain finally took over. He slumped against her arm, his face pale and eyes still half open in a grimace of hurt.
Kagome now realized that without Sesshomaru she stood no chance against her captor. Her bow and arrows were safe at camp, far from her reach. She tried to convince herself that her friends would come looking for her, but what if the imposter took on her role? They would never know the difference. Inu Yasha will come and save me! She thought to herself frantically. She knew that Inu Yasha was her only hope, if anyone would realize that the pretender was not Kagome, he would. He would come for her!

Kikyo could not wake Kagome from her slumber the next day. She instantly suspected Maeka. This was the last straw! First she seduces Inu Yasha and then she poisons his lover! That little bitch was going down baby! This was war, Kikyo refused to let Inu Yasha be overpowered by a lustful power-monger with an attitude! It just wasn't right. She couldn't stand watching her. She could almost see her powerful intoxication playing with Inu Yasha's unsuspecting mind. Gross.
She knew that she was now the only one smart enough, or maybe even stupid enough, to get rid of the little bitch. Her plan to use Kagome must not have worked though, for Maeka was still at camp. Strange, she thought, I do not detect any spells around Maeka, what could have happened?
Maeka looked oblivious to the happenings to the night before and Kikyo wondered if she knew that Kikyo suspected her. Watching her all through the last week Kikyo had come to a conclusion that Maeka had brushed off her master's warning, but had she? Was she really just pretending to be unaware?

Jin played with the blue jewel around his neck, he stared into it. Searching. Two figures swam into view. One he could see clearly, the other he couldn't. This puzzled him. This had never happened before. He wondered what could have made the jewel blur out the figure.
Then a horrifying thought crossed his mind. His stomach jolted with fear. Could it be? Could the prophecy really be true? Jin had always believed it was just a fairy tale, something to tell little children when times were hard and hope was almost lost.
But then again, in the Feudal Era, you never really knew if stories were fact or fiction. Jin assured himself that it was just a mistake, the jewel was just confused! Anyways, if the stories were true, once he had the Demon Song, they would never defeat him!

Inu Yasha was worried. He had never wanted things to turn out the way they did. He didn't really love Maeka, it was more of a… how would you explain it…lust would be too strong of a word. I guess it was just physical attraction…he thought. He realized now that kissing Maeka was a BIG mistake. He should have gotten out of this mess while he could. He should be with Kagome, not Maeka!
(AN* Aurora_thorn: You got that right!

Happy Ramadan and Turkey Day! I'm not actually Muslim and I don't agree with Thanksgiving `cus the pilgrims killed a bunch of Indians and all, but I just thought I'd be nice. ^.^
