Chapter 2:The Ancient Language of the Demons (youkai no kodaigo)
It was the next day and no one had said anything about the battle the day before. Inu was sitting on the roof, and every one else was sitting in a hut they had found abandoned near the battle sight. Inu's wounds had been bandaged and everyone was finishing there food.(Inu had scarfed his) Kag suddenly stood up, causing everyone else to stand, thinking she had sensed something.
"Do you guys hear that?" Kag asked. Kag could hear want sounded like someone singing near by. But she thought she was just hearing things, because it sounded like Inu.
"I don't hear anything, lady Kagome." Miroku said.
"What do you hear?" asked Sango.
"It sounds like singing." She replied.
"I don't hear singing. Do you Sango?" Miroku asked as his hand slowly reached behind Sango.
"No I don… Hentai!!!" Sango screamed and hit Miroku with the hiraikotsu.
"I can hear it." Said Shippou after they had both calmed down.
"You can? Who's singing?" Sango asked.
"Sounds like Inu-yasha, but that doesn't make since." Shippou replied.
"That's what I thought." Said Kag.
"Well than what's he singing?" asked Miroku skeptically.
"Well its part way through, but OK." Kag began to sing.
"Boku-tachi wa samayoi nagara
ikite yuku doko made mo
furikaeru
michi wo tozashi
aruite'ku eien ni
tachisukumu koe no naku
ikite yuku eien ni"
"That's it he stopped singing." Said Kag.
"How come we couldn't hear it?" asked Sango.
"Yes, if we couldn't hear it, how come only you could hear it Lady Kagome?" asked Miroku.
"I could hear it!" Shouted Shippou.
"Hear what?" asked Inu as he stepped inside the hut.
"Your singing, Inu-yasha." Said Kag.
"Wha… but how could you have been able to hear it?" asked Inu confused and surprised.
"Why wouldn't I be able to? And how come Miroku and Sango couldn't hear it?" asked Kag.
"You mean you really were singing?" asked Sango.
"Yeah, but I was singing in the ancient demon language, Kagome shouldn't have been able to hear it." Said Inu.
"See, I told you. Umm… Why shouldn't I have been able to hear it?" asked Kag.
"Because humans can't hear the ancient demon language." Said Inu.
"Then how come I can hear it?" asked Kag.
"Dunno. Hey Kagome did you hear me singing yesterday?" Inu asked while he had his back turned.
"Yeah, why?" asked Kag.
"Why what?" asked Sango as Inu turned and started to snigger. He had been speaking the ancient demon language. (I am going to call the demon language youkai no kodaigo, which if i've done the correct research {for I am not Japanese} should mean the ancient language of the demon.)
"He was speaking in youkai no kodaigo again." Said Shippou.
"Inu-yasha!!" shouted Kag.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it! Besides, I needed to see if you could really hear it." Inu said defending himself.
"Well, you better get in to bed so you can actually get up on time tomorrow." Said Inu.
"But we do get up on time, you just get up too early!" Said Shippou.
"Feh! Not my fault you think dawn is too early. When I was your age if I didn't get up at dawn some demon would have come along eaten me. The early bird catches the worm you know." Said Inu.
"But I'm * yawn * not a bir…" Shippou tried to say as he drifted to sleep in Kag's lap.
"All right, let's get to sleep. We can figure it out in the morning." Kag said. Hopefully. With that final thought, Kag went to bed.
