Kagome threw her bag up over the well wall as she climbed the ladder to the top. "It's about time" a voice awaited her on the other side. "Inuyasha?" she spoke with question as she pulled herself up.
"You know you could have helped me..it is your food that is in the bag to begin with." He picked up her bag and proceeded in opening it up to get his reward. "Sit" she spoke fluently as the beads around his neck started to glow and forced him face first into the ground. Kagome grabbed her bag and headed towards the village, and Inuyasha cursed under his breath. "Damn wench, just wait til i get up" He growled as he awaited the spell to wear off.
Shippo ran out of the hut to greet Kagome as Miroku and Sango followed behind. "Kagome, you're back..Hooray!" the kitsune celebrated her return as he jumped up in her arms to give her a big hug.
"I missed you too, shippo. I brought you the candy you wanted too." The kitsune's eyes got big as a smile came to his face. He rushed over to her bag and disappeared inside, laughing as he found what he was looking for. Inuyasha finally caught up, brushing the dirt from his face, and went inside the hut.
"What's his problem Kagome? Did you sit him again?" Sango couldnt help but laugh at the look on his face. "He always starts with me when I come back after a few days. What does he want me to do...quit school all together and stay here forever?"
Inuyasha popped his head out of the doorway. "That's exactly what I want you to do. We need to find the jewel shards and that school place is keeping us from doing this all the time." His head went back in as Kagome and Sango just shook their heads.
"Come on Kagome. Let's go take a bath in the spring." Sango suggested as she grabbed her friends attention from the annoying half-demon. Kagome nodded as she picked up her bag and followed Sango to the spring.
"Aahhh. This feels great" they both sank into the water allowing it to fill them up, and soak away all of their troubles.
Sango glanced over at her friend as she looked upset about something. "Kagome? Is everything alright? You seem distracted about something." Kagome snapped out of it, as she stood in the water.
"I sense the jewel shards." Out of the blue, Inuyasha overheard and along with Miroku came running into the area. "Where are they Kagome?" Sango and Kagome turned blood red from embarrassment, and screamed in anger. Sango threw a boulder at Miroku as he fled for his life. "You lecherous monk. How dare you!" Kagome was far more harsh as she yet again subdued Inuyasha into his position.
"You pervert, Inuyasha! SIT!" The necklace glowed and he found himself eating dirt against the rock hard ground. The girls grabbed their clothes and quickly got dressed, just as Inuyasha pushed himself off the ground. He sniffed the air, and unsheathed his sword, as the others looked on with question.
"Inuyasha, what is it? Kagome approached from behind. He growled under his breath as he pushed her to the side.
"Kagura!" he spoke with disgust as the incarnation appeared through the trees, hidden in the darkness.
Kanna was next to appear as she joined her sister. In her hands was a little mirror, the very mirror that could suck out a person's soul and send an attack back to the deliverer, with just a flick of the wrist.
"Kagura, what in the hell do you want." Inuyasha pointed his sword at the two demons. Kagome walked up to him and whispered to him.
"Inuyasha, I still sense the jewel shards but neither Kagura nor Kanna possess them." Inuyasha smiled. "Feh! So where is the bastard hiding? Yet again he hides in the shadows like the coward he is, sending his worthless beings to do his dirty work." Laughter could be heard echoing through the forest.
An evil laugh like something has been put into play. "You worthless half-breed. You really think you could ever gain enough strength to defeat me. It is futile. You stand no match against me." The voice paused. Inuyasha lauged out loud at the thought. "How dare you call me a half-breed! You forget so quickly that you too are the same as me." He paused and glanced down at the ground. "No. You are less than me, Naraku. You sold your soul to gain the powers you possess now, so in anyway you look at it, you are weaker than me." He laughed as Naraku came into the clearing.
He glanced over at Kanna and nodded to her, which caught their attention. She took a step forward, holding the mirror out in front of her.
"Feh, like that little pathetic mirror could harm me in anyway." Inuyasha laughed as she walked towards him turning the mirror back and forth in his direction.
As she did this, waves of energy started being released swirling around his body. His expression changed. Winds blew ferociously surrounding, engulfing Inuyasha's body, lifting him off the ground. His companions watched, wondering what could be done, but no thought arose from their fragile minds.
A smile returned to Naraku's face as he continued to watch in amazement. Inuyasha fought against the current of the swirling vortex consuming his body.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome screamed trying to get his attention, from what was really going on. The mirror started to shake in Kanna's hand as something else seemed to be happening. He turned in time to see a black aura illuminate from the mirror and shot straight through his body.
He hunched over as if in pain, growling, and his hair covering his face. Kagome watched on, knowing this routine, seeing it so many times before in their travels, realizing exactly what she was experiencing. "No!!" she shouted. "Inuyasha please don't transform." She ran towards him, hoping to be able to snap him out of it, just like she always has.
A few inches away, a barrier forced her back onto the hard ground. She turned in horror, as Inuyasha finished transforming, standing above her, in his full youkai form. He was breathing heavy, licking his lips at the thought of a human girl, limp in his arms drinking her essence, her very soul devoured from his very fangs. Kagome trembled, staring into empty emotionless eyes, once sworn to protecting her, now keen on making her his first victim of his heartless terrorisms. Miroku threw himself at Inuyasha hoping to lure his attention away from his friend.
"Inuyasha." he yelled jumping into view. Inuyasha grabbed him and threw him against a tree knocking the wind out of him. He collapsed, coughing against the ground, dirt brushing his face. Shippou and Kirara hid behind Sango's shaking form.
'No. This can't be happening.' Inuyasha stared at Sango, standing and trembling with fear pouring from her body. He turned his attention back to the girl crawling away on the ground.
"Ka..go..me." he growled her name, as he bent down and grabbed her by her neck.
His claws scraped against her delicate skin, scarring, and drawing blood as it dripped down her neck. She winced in pain, grabbing his hand to get herself loose. It only took less than a minute for her face to start changing colors. She couldnt last much longer in this state, and Naraku knew this. He didn't want the girl to die, just in enough pain as to feel his betrayal to her. Inuyasha couldnt tolerate the human wench anymore, and with a flick of the wrist, he threw her hard against the ground, her body bouncing off the forest floor, before resting in pain on the surface.
He pounced on her, ripping her uniform to shreds revealing her naked body. Kagome used her hands to cover herself, backing away from her once sworn protector.
"Inuyasha, please don't do this." She pleaded with him, begging him, but to no avail.
'His eyes. They are so empty.' her eyes swelling up again, tears flowing down her tarnished face. Inuyasha hit her even harder this time knocking her unconscious, as her body lay motionless on the ground. Naraku came up beside him and picked her up, rushing into the darkness of the forest. Kanna turned her mirror, shooting a white light at him, releasing his soul back into his form.
Inuyasha collapsed on the ground, as Miroku got enough strength to pull himself off the ground. Sango ran over to him helping him up, just as Inuyasha got up, with a confused look on the hanyou's face. Kanna and Kagura were long gone as they realized the seriousness of the situation.
Kagome was gone.
Miroku ran over to him smacking him upside his head with the staff. Inuyasha snapped around with fury in his eyes. "What in the hell was that for, Miroku?"
Laughter filled the forest walls, as Naraku started to speak. Every word crossing his disgusting lips seemed to echo throughout the entire land.
"Foolish Inuyasha. I now possess your human wench. She is mine." His voice faded off into the distance, as Inuyasha glanced around.
"Bastard." he yelled. "KAGOME!" He fell on his knees calling her name, tears threatening to overwhelm him. Miroku, Sango, and Shippou walked over to him, as he pounded on the ground. He stood up, sniffing the air, but could not get a scent...'Kagome'.
"I will not eat nor sleep until I find you Kagome. I swear to you on my mother's grave that Naraku will pay for anything he does to you." He gathered the girl's things and they started on their journey to find Kagome. As they walked Inuyasha couldn't help but think of the horrible things Naraku would do to Kagome.
The thought of it caused him to growl, his friends keeping their distance from the half demon, hoping and praying their friend would be alright. He walked ahead, stopping off at the spring to wash his hands. They stood and watched as Inuyasha desperately tried to remove the blood from his hands. 'Blood. Kagome's blood. I have caused her so much pain, she must really hate me right now. Kagome, I am so sorry.'
