InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Demons in Disguise ❯ Trauma ( Chapter 6 )
Wufei hurried into the bus, hearing Sesshou's shouts. As he boarded, he stared baffled at the lumpy puddle of dark blue goop dripping over the driver's seat, but he ignored that, focusing his attention to the distressed Sesshou.
"Sesshou!" Wufei called out running to his friend's side and looking startled at the convulsing girl. "We need to get her to a hospital immediately. I think she's having a seizure."
Sesshou nodded while Wufei lifted the girl to her feet. He leaned the girl onto Sesshou's back so that Sesshou could grab the girl's legs and carry her off. As soon as all three of them were heading for Wufei's car, Wufei decided to quench his curiosity.
"What went on in their Sesshou? I find it unlikely that you would just happen to come across a teenage girl unconscious in an abandoned bus."
"Would you go get her bag?" Sesshou requested completely ignoring Wufei's question while laying Rin into the back seat of the car. "It's still in the bus."
Wufei looked at his friend suspiciously, but did as he was asked and went into the bus to retrieve the girl's bag. He was surprised to find no bag left in the bus.
"I think it was still around her back, Sesshou!" Wufei called out with no answer. "Sesshou?"
He began to jog back down the aisle, but stiffened when he heard the sound of an engine starting. Not only that, Wufei knew mechanics and could easily tell from the sound that the engine was from his own car.
He ran out too late to find Sesshou already pulling out of the alley. Wufei ran after him as fast as he could, waving and shouting frantically. Sesshou pretended not to notice his friend and screeched down the road leaving Wufei in the alley. Wufei ran out into the middle of the street and went slack, and angry scowl on his face.
"Sesshou, you bastard! Come back here with my car!" Wufei exclaimed with anger. Yet he knew there was no possible way Sesshou could still hear him. With a snarl Wufei scanned the streets looking for a substitute form of transportation. He spotted a lone motorcycle at the corner of the street. He leaped onto it and kicked the kickstand. The owner of the cycle came out of the liquor store next to the spot where he parked the bike and almost dropped the six-pack he was carrying as he watched Wufei start up his bike.
"Hey, you munchkin, get offa my bike!" the man roared, waving his fist in the air. Wufei chuckled and rounded the bike passing by the owner.
"Don't drink and drive," Wufei smirked. The owner fell back when Wufei looped around him on the bike before zooming off down the street leaving the owner dumbfounded and furious.

Sesshou hadn't been in the mood to answer Wufei questions. There was already too much on his mind. When he drove away in the Corvette he knew that Wufei would find someway to be close behind. Yet Sesshou managed to loose him through the many honeycomb streets.
Lin was still convulsing and making nonsense sounds. Sesshou was hysterically worried, afraid that he was the cause of the sudden seizure. Through the storm in his head, Sesshou recounted the location of the nearest hospital. Wufei didn't know this part of town, and Sesshou was almost sure he didn't know where the hospital was. He drove on, his heart stinging every time Lin shouted out or made some other weird noise. The hospital was close by.

My prince! My prince has come to rescue me! I didn't think he was my prince, but then he changed. Changed into my prince. He defended me against that mean man. The mean man started acting weird. He was on the ground acting like he was sick. My prince picked him up, and soon after the man went to sleep. Then my prince changed again. Back into his disguise. But he can't hide it from me. Not anymore. I know. My prince disappeared. It was cold without him. Then he returned and it was warm again. He sat next to me. He spoke to me. He became silent. Then he shed his disguise again. He melted the mean man who was mean to us. Serves him right. Suddenly everything became blurry. I could feel my prince next to me, but he was fading away. A pretty boy with shiny black hair came. They both began to disappear more. Prince! Save me, my prince! Don't let the waves take me away again! Rescue me…please…
Lin woke up weary and half-conscious. She groaned and struggled to open her eyes. She winced when all the brightness in the room hit her pupil. Lin adjusted to the light soon, but it was still very blurry. A woman dressed in blue (Lin couldn't make out any others features) bent over to Lin and mumbled something that Lin's dazed mind couldn't process. The woman waited a moment longer before rushing off, out of Lin's view.
Hard as she might, Lin tried to remember exactly what happened in that bus. She had a few fuzzy images that had made sense a moment ago, but now they were just as credible as illusions. Her brain pounded in her skull, but it was hard to tell with all the morphine the doctors had given her. Lin could remember everything pretty clearly up to the point the boy on the bus asked her why she was sad. After that, everything was just hurt. But that boy-Sesshou, was it?-Lin seemed drawn to him.
