"It's…it's you! The one who kidnapped our Rin!" Janice pointed out in terror. "George! George, get in here!"
Rin was panting hard and Sesshou tried to utter something, but couldn't find the right words. George came running up to the door.
"Janice, why-good lord!" he shouted when he spotted Sesshou. "How dare you come into my house!"
"Rin! Rin, get over here sweetie," Janice coaxed. "That's the bad man who tried to hurt you. I don't know what he's told you but he can't be trusted. Please, please, come over to me."
Rin shook her head violently and clung to Sesshou's arm.
"No! You don't understand! Sesshou would never hurt me!" Rin debated. Janice nudged George who ran off somewhere.
"Listen, Rin, he's not your friend. He has taken advantage of your unstable mind. Please, come to me," Janice pleaded, but Rin didn't budge. Sesshou gasped when George came back with a revolver in his hand.
"Let go of Rin!" George demanded with the gun pointed straight at Sesshou. "I said let go of her!"
Sesshou hesitated but then decided it was best if Rin did what he said. He nudged Rin and looked down at her. She looked at him, not wanting to let go but when she looked into his beautiful amber eyes, she knew it would be best. Reluctantly she slowly walked over to Janice. George didn't lower the gun. He just stood there licking his lips, trembling slightly. Janice hugged Rin tight and glared at Sesshou.
"Rin, I was afraid this might happen," Janice admitted as quietly as she could. "Listen I've been thinking of sending you to a special place. Your mind is so gullible from your…disorder. This place it'll help you get better. It's the highest rated Psychiatric Ward in the country."
Rin looked at her with disbelief not knowing what to say. Sesshou was shocked from the statement. Something inside of him was beginning to stir.
"Janice…call the police," George commanded. Janice nodded and reached for the receiver on the counter. That something in Sesshou was building strength quickly. He knew what it was, and this time he wasn't going to fight it. His eyes flickered with gold and his hair began to shimmer silver. George's eyes went wide when a low rumble came from Sesshou's throat. His hands began to tremble.
"What…what are you doing?" George asked nervously. Magenta stripes appeared on his cheeks and the familiar blue moon faded onto his forehead. Rin stared at him, knowing what was going to happen. She only hoped he wouldn't do something he'd later regret.
Sesshou's hands became rigid as his nails became long and sharp. His silver hair drifted above his head.
"What the hell is going on, George?" Janice questioned with panic, her hand just inches from the phone.
"I…I don't know," he replied hysterically. Sesshou stared at him with ice cold eyes that bore through him like a spear.
"Put down the gun, pitiful human," Sesshou commanded in a monotonous voice. George quivered more and shook his head.
"N-no…what is wrong with you?!" he shouted. Sesshou didn't move a muscle.
"I said put down the gun. This is not a request," he repeated. George's hand began to sweat. There was something horrifying about this man. Something that was practically driving George crazy. So crazy in fact, that a few seconds later, George pulled the trigger on the gun.
Rin barely had time to scream before a loud bang shook the room. Strangely though, when the lightening fast bullet reached Sesshou, he wasn't there anymore. Sesshou had moved so fast, Rin could barely see him. Next thing she knew he was standing directly in front of Mr. Takamura. George cried out and fell backward on the floor, trembling in Sesshou's harsh gaze.
"I warned you," Sesshou made known. He swung his arm down and snatched the gun out of George's hand with incredible speed. Then Sesshou crushed the metal revolver with his bare hand, and dropped it at George's feet. Janice was clinging to Rin tightly while pressing herself against the counter.
While George sat on the floor in shock Sesshou turned his harsh gaze to Janice. She yelped but kept her arm fastened around Rin. He took a step toward her and she began to sweat bullets.
"I gave you a chance," he said. "I won't be so gratuitous a second time."
"St-stay back!" Janice said in a weak voice. Sesshou's eyes became more fierce and hinted red. He continued to approach the trembling Janice. Rin tried to force herself out of Mrs. Takamura's vice grip but it was no use.
"Sesshou! I want you to take me away, but please don't hurt them too badly!" Rin pleaded. His eyes didn't show any response to Rin's request. Instead, his iris darkened more to a pure red. He was only a few steps away from Janice, and he reached his arm out to grab Rin. Suddenly, there was a loud 'bang' from behind him. Sesshou's eyes went wide and he stumbled forward a step. Rin watched in horror as a bullet exploded from his shoulder. Blood splattered over his jacket and he stood there; dumbfounded. His eyes were gold once more and his mouth hung open slightly. As if in a dream he reached his right hand up to his left shoulder and lightly pressed the wound. He brought his clawed hand to his face and stared dazed at the fingers drenched in maroon blood.
Rin felt tears soak her face as so many fears swirled through her. She witnessed Sesshou turn his head and look down at George. In the man's hands was a second revolver. Apparently he had hid one in his vest jacket. George's hand were shaking badly. The stench of gun smoke rose from the barrel of the revolver.
"You dare?" Sesshou said, when he had regained his composure. He pivoted in the direction of George. Mr. Takamura immediately dropped his weapon and slumped back on his legs.
"I…please don't hurt me! I'll do anything, just…just don't kill me!" George begged for his life. Sesshou's eyes became red again like the blood dripping from his shoulder. Rin's eyes stretched. She knew what Sesshou was about to do.
"Pathetic human," Sesshou spat. He folded his fingers together and raised his right arm. His entire arm began to glow a lime green.
"Sesshou, don't!" Rin screamed, but it was too late. He swung his arm back down and a long green energy cord shot from his fingers. The cord passed through a stunned George. Mr. Takamura just sat there for a second, the stunned expression frozen on his face. A second later he shouted a cry of death as he disenagrated.
Janice cried out and fell to her knees. Rin slid easily out of her grasp and stared at the ashes that were once Mr. Takamura. Janice sobbed hysterically and crawled over to her late husband. Her fingers sifted through the ashes and her tears drenched the dust. Rin walked past Sesshou to the ashes and down at her ex-foster father. She raised her head and her glistened tear-drenched hazel eyes met with Sesshou's glowing red ones.
Sesshou felt something strike through his body like lightning. The sorrow in Rin's eyes snapped him back to the scene before him. He yelped a second as the demonic features disappeared from his body. He, too, fell onto his knees. His eyes were glazed and his mouth hung open in a stupor. Rin rushed to his side and laid her head on his bleeding shoulder.
"Why, Sesshou? Oh, why did you have to kill him?" Rin sobbed. "Please, Sesshou. Take me away! I still love you! Snap out of it!"
Still in his stupor, Sesshou stood. His head lobbed to one side and he let out a weak moan. He subconsciously picked up Rin in his arms and used his demon speed to run them out of the house leaving Janice covered in her husband's ashes. They didn't know, but soon after they left, Janice had taken a kitchen knife from the counter and stumbled over to the dead George Takamura. She carved something in the floor then rose the knife to her chest. Janice Takamura then mumbled something that was never made out, and plunged the knife through her heart.
When the police finally responded to a complaint made by a neighbor who had heard screaming from the house, they found Mrs. Takamura dead on a pile of now blood diluted ashes. The case was investigated for a short time, but it was never solved. The coroner had identified the ashes as human so the police assumed it was what was left of Mr. Takamura.
The death certificate read a murder/suicide since that was the most plausible explanation they could conceive. This explanation settled the public who had been following the case word for word. But there was one piece of information that the precinct had never released to the public. They were so perplexed by it that it wasn't even mentioned in the police report. When they had cleaned away the blood in the kitchen they found a strange message carved into the tile. It was never explained. The message read: "Silver Demons pursue us. We escape in Death. Our ailing girl is Forsaken. Let her rot in Hell with the unholy Demon to whom she has given her Heart and Soul."
