"Where exactly are we going, Inuyasha?" Sesshou said while they sped through over the ground. Sesshou had realized many miles back that he had the physical capabilities to move much faster than Inuyasha, and that he could easily run ahead with little trouble. Yet he held back his potential since Inuyasha was the one who was leading their little rescue party.
"According to Lady Kaede's scrying charm Kagome is just a few more miles east," Inuyasha informed him. "Oddly though she said she couldn't exactly pinpoint her location. There's some sort of enchantment barrier up ahead. She also said that there were many magic charms in this land. So be careful, don't trust what you see."
A couple more miles further, and they came to a vacant wasteland. They both paused, and Rin, currently clinging to Sesshou's back, was amazed. There was nothing but dry, cracked dirt as far as they could see.
"I thought you said we only had to go on for a couple more miles. This place looks like it would take a week to cross it," Rin whined. Inuyasha gritted his teeth and took a deep breath. He took a few steps forward and stuck out his arm. Everyone's eyes stretched when Inuyasha's arm had faded away.
"Like I said: don't trust what you see," he gestured his head forward. "Let's go. Who knows what they've done to Kagome."
Inuyasha leaped forward into the magical cloaking spell and disappeared. Rin whined nervously and kept her head as close to Sesshou's back as she could manage as he jumped into the cloaking field. She waited for some sort of shock or burning sensation but there was nothing. She hesitantly opened her eyes to peek out at the landscape. When she did so she couldn't help but be in awe.
Before them was many strange and beautiful flowers, as well as other bizarre plants she had never seen before. While Sesshou sped alongside Inuyasha, Rin looked in front of them and saw their destination. There was a range of small mountains, all of which were covered in lush trees. The mountain directly in front of them had a lovely oriental castle in front of its foundation. Yet as wondrous as the atmosphere was, Rin couldn't help but sense an ominous presence somewhere within the landscape.

"Hey, let go of me!" Kagome grunted as she was lugged along by a bulky demon servant who flung her over his shoulder like a sack of vegetables. Kagome pounded on the demon's broad back and kicked her legs wildly. "I--said--let go!"
The just let out an 'ugh' while it carried her into a dark stairway that led into a poorly lit cellar where a number of cages were kept. The artless creature opened a cage door, unceremoniously tossed her into it, and then slammed it shut. Kagome shook the bars as the demon lumbered it's way back up the stairs. She saw the light from the open door disappear and she slumped against the bars.
"Oh just great. What am I going to do now?" Kagome moaned. "And where is that no good husband of mine? Stupid, Inuyasha. Completely unreliable. I bet he's just going to let me rot here."
Kagome went on with her complaints, but stopped when she saw the light from the stairway door spill into the dim cellar. She also saw a large shadow blocking part of the yellow light.
"Huh? Who there's?" Kagome asked with a tinge of fright in her voice. She pressed herself to the back of the cage, biting her lip. The figure began to slowly walk down the steps. Kagome pressed herself to the metal bars so much so that her spine became sore. "Get away from me. I'm warning you!" But there was no confidence in her voice.
She turned her head and pressed her eyes closed, prepared for something to roar or charge at the cage. Something obstructed the light in front of her, but nothing moved. Kagome let out a curious hum and she turned her head to look at the person before her. It took a second for her eyes to adjust to the extra light from the stairway door but soon she could make out--no it couldn't be.
"No way!" Kagome gasped. There, in front of the cage, his fluffy boa flung over his shoulder and his red and white kimono reflecting the light, stood the body of Sesshoumaru. Kagome leaned forward and pressed her face between two bars, her mouth open in shock.
"Sesshoumaru? Why are you here? We all thought you were dead!" Kagome became irritated. "Did you kidnap me? You bastard, after all these years of hiding and then you just come out of the blue to take me away from Inuyasha. I can't believe you! You just can't let go of a grudge can you?! Of al the low down schemes this is the worst. I should just…huh?"
Kagome had gotten so caught up in her babbling (A/N: I personally think Kagome talks too much.) that she hadn't realized until a moment later that 'Sesshoumaru' wasn't reacting at all. This wasn't too surprising but she figured he would've at least told her to 'shut up' by now. She closed her mouth and looked curiously at the bowl in his hand. Balancing the bowl on two fingertips, he skillfully positioned the cage's key in his ring-finger and pinky, next he pressed the key in the keyhole, unlocking the cage, and he pulled the cage's door from the bottom with his foot. Kagome hadn't, until now, considered how inconvenient missing one arm might be; even for a Tai-youkai.
"What are you doing?" Kagome pondered. 'Sesshoumaru' set the bowl in the cage and then shut the door, making sure to lock it. He stood still, looking straight at her, so Kagome took this moment to take a good look at his face. The stunning features aside, she saw a strange emptiness in his eyes, as well his pupils weren't apparent.
"Are you okay?" Kagome asked, surprised at herself that she cared whether he was or he wasn't. 'Sesshoumaru' didn't answer. He simply turned around, walked back up the steps, and closed the door.
Still shell-shocked by his unexpected appearance, Kagome looked down into the contents of the bowl he had placed there. It was rice.

"Wow, this place is amazing!" Rin gawked at the large courtyard in front of the castle. There were flowing fountains, citrus trees, cobblestone paths, and many well-crafted porcelain statues. Inuyasha rubbed his nose after whiffing the air.
"Feh! All these damn flowers! I can't track Kagome's scent."
Sesshou's vision began to blur so he blinked heavily with no improvement. The strong smell of the flowers was making him light-headed. He felt Rin go limp on his back. He checked and discovered that she was fast asleep.
"I think these…these plants are having a negative effect…on..on," Sesshou's eyes traveled into the back of his head and he passed out. Inuyasha gasped discovering that he, too, was becoming drowsy. He fought it as long as he could, but soon he fell victim to the sleeping spell.
