Authors notes: That's right people! I got it! Edit, grammar, spell check and page count! E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! Well… sort of… but still I've been waiting for this! This has got to be one of the best weeks I've ever had!

 

- My birthday was on the weekend

 

I have a birthday party is this weekend

 

I got 120$ and more coming! (I mean even if my mom gets me everything I want it's nice to have money in * your own * pockets for I change! That way I can go shopping without my mom and with my friends!)

 

I got unlimited Internet! Yes people I finally managed to convince my parents to give me unlimited Internet. Tell you the truth it wasn't really me it was more of a birthday present but that's okay! I still got it! Even though my mom took it away for a while because I was `talking back'! I say you got a voice a reason and protest use them!

 

This to me is a place I find a have a `bit' of a voice/ power. I said a bit okay!? I mean I control what happens in this story and all that! But here I also get a chance to meet new people! Chapter notes: Well this chapter is special to me for various reasons! #1 it has a lot to do how I feel about some one else in the world! As you know the chapter is called Carvings in the wood, well in my life there something along the lines of names carved into something. Even though in my case it's more of Carvings in the sment. The person I like, (Oh how mysterious! I'm still not telling!) had written his name into the sment at the park around where my best friend lives. Even though my best friend and I took a highlighter and wrote under it sux balls! (She doesn't I know I like him) To create another lmao moment but I still like him… even if he deserved it!

 

Lately my life in relationship wise has been… frikin' confusing because of my hectic schedule. I still just like that spot where his name is written. It's my special spot no matter how corny that just sounded! ^-^

 

Now I present my 10th chapter! (I really am moving along!) I hope you enjoy! Fluffy! XD!

Chapter 10: Carvings in the wood

 

Inuyasha's POV

 

“Okay keep straight and just through!” I exclaimed calling to my mate. She was located about 10 meters away daggers in her hands and ready to strike.

 

“Inuyasha we've been doing this for a two hours! Can I please take a brake!” Kagome whined pathetically limping her whole body.

 

“Do you want to defeat Sesshoumaru or not?!” I pressed not taking into concern my mate was human.

 

“I do really… But can we please take a B-R-A-K-E!” Kagome fumed like I've never heard of the word.

 

“Feh! You're just getting into it!” I exclaimed.

 

“INUYASHAAA!” Kagome moaned clenching her daggers behind her back.

 

“But- -“

 

“NO BUTS! WE'RE STOPPING FOR TODAY!” Kagome fumed head engulfed in flames.

 

“Kagome please- -!”

 

“NO! I can only do SO much training for a day! AND I'VE DONE ENOUGH!” She proclaimed pointing her index finger dropping one of her daggers.

 

“You see this?!” I gulped weakly scared of what was coming next.

 

“Gone!” Kagome exclaimed whipping the pointy dagger at the tree hitting the apple. Not realizing what her throw had done she picked up the other one off the ground.

 

“And that one?” I whimpered.

 

“GONE!!!!!!” My mate threw the dagger as hard as she could towards me. I move quickly as the dagger brims my shoulder.

 

…

 

I blinked as I eye my small wound.

 

…

 

“Inuyasha! Oh my gosh!” Kagome exclaimed at my wound on my left shoulder leaking a small trace of my blood.

 

“I'm so sorry!” She rushed to my side immediately tending to my wound.

 

“You're ready…”

 

“Wha- -!?” Kagome exclaimed half lidded.

 

“If you can do this to me with only a bit of anger I can just imagine what you could do to Sesshoumaru. With all the hate you keep bundled up in your body. It's your anger that powers your throws!” I explained kissing my mate gently.

 

“You're right… thank you.” She replied murmmering.

 

“Thank you for what!?” I chuckled.

 

“If you hadn't of pushed me I wouldn't know how to aim my throws and get the best power and speed.” She explained before capturing my lips in a silver kiss.

 

It's just so odd for something like a simple action could capture your soul so quickly, power you to the next movement or even accomplish something you can't even dream of with getting shivers running down your spine.

 

That action was and would always be Kagome.

 

“Inuyasha…”Kagome mumbled into the kiss. I broke away to see what she wanted.

 

“We better stop before some one sees us or we get carried away.” She chuckled sweetly with a smirk.

 

“Why can't we?” I questioned a glint of mischeviousness in my eye.

 

“You're terrible I tell you! And you'll never learn!”

 

“You say it like it's a bad thing!” I protested playfully.

 

“That's why I love you so much!” She giggled hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around her.

 

“Come one I see a storm coming we better get going.” I exclaimed taking her hand. We take the first few steps in unison as I slow conversation came into play.

 

“Rain is so boring and plain?”

 

“Isn't it?” I replied sweetly.

 

“When it rains I always play I game… I know it sounds funny but it passes the time.” She explained.

 

“No it doesn't when it rains I wish I had a game to play.” I responded.

 

“Though it isn't much of a game.” She exclaimed.

 

“Let's hear it!” I asked.

 

“Okay but you're gonna say it's stupid!”

 

“No I won't I promise!” I protested as the scenery pass by us. I knew that it would be stupid to rush times like these by making my mate go on my back. We slowly exited the field into the forest of evergreen trees.

 

“Fine but you can't laugh okay?” She ordered.

 

“Alright!” I complied.

 

“Well I use the English alphabet - -“

 

“What the English alphabet?” I cocked brushing a pine tree branch away so it wouldn't hit Kagome.

 

“You know how the Japanese doesn't really have an Alphabet. Or well it's 50 letter- - or umm… sounds long well and that's only Hiragana!” I nodded in my mates babbling.

 

“Well the English Alphabet had 26 letter and they're a lot easier to find words to go with the letter.” She explained.

 

“Can you say the alphabet?” I questioned looking at her in confusion.

 

“Sure!”

 

“I still don't know how you can memorize that stuff!”

 

“It's easy there's a way!” She exclaimed inflating her chest.

 

“What's that?” I questioned in doubt.

 

“ So you can remember them I'll sing a song! A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y and Z now you know you're A B C's next time won't you sing with me?” I snorted at the stupidity of the nursery rhyme.

 

“You said you would laugh?” She pouted.

 

“I could resist the song's so stupid!”

 

“Oh so you think English is stupid hmm?” I started to crack into spontanious laughter.

 

“Fine if you think it's so stupid I'll stick it in you head!” She exclaimed.

 

“How?” I spat out rudely not able to contain myself.

 

“ A B C D… “

 

“STOPPP!!! PLEASE!!!” I moaned pathetically.

 

“Now you'll HAVE to play the game!” Kagome fumed proudly.

“I don't EVEN know how to play!” I shouted with a hit of laugher in my voice and in my mate's singing one. She stops sighing for a moment.

 

“All you do is think up words for each letter like apple for A! But it has to do with rain!” She lectured then continued to sing the babyish song in my annoyance.

 

“F G H I J…”

 

This is gonna be a long walk back…

 

Maybe it would be better if she hopped on my back and rode home…

What's another word to start with E that has to do with rain?! The English Alphabet was now officially stuck in my head and I could do nothing about but play Kagome's game.

 

“Kagome.” I called acting like the rain, dull.

 

“What is it?!” She moaned a hinted annoyance in her voice followed by a yawn.

 

“What's a word to do with rains that begin with E that's not ever coming?”

 

“Why are you asking me this? It's a one person game.” She cocked whipping her head towards my plain face.

 

“Because I need to know.” I replied simply.

 

“But - - ! Why?…” She questioned looking at me strangely.

 

* She * even knows better to frustrate me by asking to explain! Grr… doesn't she see that I * just * want an answer!

 

“Because I want to know and I need to know! And you're the only one around her that isn't too stupid to know the English alphabet!” I fumed staring at my mates startled eyes.

 

“Okay, okay! Umm… I just can't believe you're playing my game.” She backed off putting her hand to her chin and thinking deeply.

 

“Yea, Yea I don't much of a choice other than humming the alphabet!” She chuckled lightly at my reply.

 

“Tell you the truth I don't know.” She mumbled insincerely.

 

“Stupid wench…” I muttered under my breath just loud enough for my mate to hear me.

 

Big mistake- -!

 

“What was that!?” She fumed.

 

“I uh…”

 

Shit- -!

 

Caught in the headlight and not knowing what to do!

 

“Tell me!” She demanded furiously

 

“I said stupid wench…..” I said plainly like it was just another piece of hay in the haystack of words.

 

“EXCUSE ME!” She exclaimed flames rushing to her face.

 

Gods have I gotten to be afraid of her!

 

“What it's true!” I exclaimed angry at my pride for putting me in this situation.

 

“You inconsiterit idiot!” She screamed into my face thinking that would teach my pride to back off.

 

“Feh.”

 

…

 

Stupid me! Stupid, Stupid me!

 

…

 

She blinks at my ignorant reply.

 

…

 

It hits her…

 

Damn it! I'm in for hell!

 

“SIT!”

 

“Idiot I'm soRRY!” I try to say before dragged down by my cursed necklace.

 

“NO YOU'RE NOT!”

 

“Kagome, bitch, but - -!”

 

“NO SHUTUP! SIT!”

 

“And by the way I'm not an idiot!” She said before she storms out of the hut into the frosty cold rain.

 

“Kagome don't go!” I called but am too late for she is already in the stormy night.

 

I had just slipped. After all this time of not calling Kagome anything bad she was used to be cared for by loving words. Guilt plagued over me like the heavy storm clouds above.

 

“Inuyasha?” I voice calls from the other room of Keada's hut.

 

“Miroku shut up this is my own business! Just leave me alone and go grad Sango's ass!” I exclaimed at the monk leering through the door.

 

“INUYASHA!” Sango shouted fuming into the room.

 

…

 

SLAP!

 

...

 

A red mark appears across my face as I touch it slightly.

 

“Seems now more than one person is mad at you now Inuyasha.” Shippo smirked hastily not realizing his good reason was only going to tick me off more.

 

“I agree!” Miroku added.

 

“Same here!” Sango's huffed placing her hand on her stomach as she lifted her chin high.

 

PERSONAL NOTES: Never insult a pregnant woman. Especially one that's used to slapping her perverted husband.

…

 

“FINE! I'm leaving and don't expect me back for a long time!” I hissed as I smashing the weaved door backward as it swung as I ran into the wilderness.

 

To where?

 

At that moment I really didn't know.

 

Somewhere to think.

 

Somewhere to be alone.

 

Somewhere I could figure things out.

 

Somewhere I would know what to do.

 

In the pouring rain my only comfort would be the thing I couldn't have right now, my mate…

I whip my wet face covered from the pouring rain. My silver hair dragged down by the heavy water. My eyes had grown baggy from the frustration of everything it seemed. Kagome was furious with me and some where out there. It pouring rain and I was stuck under this pine tree till the rain at least lightened. Too add to that I couldn't go back to Keade's hut because everyone was mad at me. I clench my legs in a shiver no would know I ever had. My eyes filled with yearning fear of some one hating me leaving me. I couldn't see a thing since it was nightfall and tonight had been unfortunately darker than usual. The common flash of lightning left a little light but brought the uncomfortable loud sound of thunder afterwards.

 

Right now I should be worrying about how to get my self out of this mess and into a safe shelter.

 

But no- -!

 

I couldn't think of anything along the lines of myself right now. I was thinking about my mate.

 

Her safety.

 

Was she all right?

 

Did she need help?

 

Was she lost?

 

Afraid?

 

Alone?

 

All I wanted right now is to have Kagome safe in my arms so I could kiss her.

 

I just want to see her happy again.

 

I may not let people see this but to see her leave with such anger make me feel such guilty it almost brakes the weaving in my heart..

 

Well I * am * at fault!

 

I'm the one that called a stupid wench…

 

A bitch…

 

She's not that!

 

She's beautiful, smart and even powerful…

 

I wish I could just know that she's all right…

 

If only I wasn't being a complete dumb ass to her I wouldn't be in this mess.

 

I am a dumb ass.

 

I'm the one always spoiling everything.

I didn't even deserve her meeting me.

The lightning flickered relieving where I was.

 

The Goshinku!

 

The god tree!

 

The place where we first met.

 

Our special place.

 

I turned my rain soaked body towards the tree and everything came to me in a blink of an eye.

 

I pointed my index finger extending my claw to the wood. Gently working away careful not to cause any mistakes, I carve a message. A message that could last for years. My nail scratch deeply into the tree's wood as I smile as a single tear runs down my face. A tear of hatred, love, joy and anger, beauty and monstrous. A tear that fall as long the rain mixed water onto the bark of the tree. It runs the through message reading it to me.

 

`For all I am and for all we are

 

I write this to your for all we're worth

 

I may be here now

 

But not tomorrow.

 

I love you

 

I miss you

 

With all my sorrow…

 

My Kagome…'

 

The instant I pronounce the last syllable I hear the thunder crash as if it's telling me no but at the same time encouraging me.

 

“Inuyasha…” I raspy yet familiar voice cried out. I shake my head around trying to determine where the voice is coming from.

 

Right now it wasn't Kagome's so I couldn't stand hearing it.

 

“Who are you!” I snapped harshly.

 

“Inuyasha…”

 

“Tell me NOW!” I exclaimed frustrated.

 

“Inuyasha…”

 

“STOP IT!”

 

With a crash of thunder the presence of the unknown creature is gone whom or what could it be? I knew staying here wouldn't help much. I also knew that I wanted to see Kagome one last time before I leave this world.

 

But where would she be?

 

She wouldn't that stupid to go off in the wilderness.

 

Of course there was no way to tell with all the scents of the forest be washed away with the heavy down pours. She probably been smart enough to fume back to the well. Hop into it and stomp extremely frustrated with me into her house. Then start crying to her herself about how much she misses me.

 

How much would she cry if I left for good?

 

Probably a lot…

 

But she'll be better out without me…

 

Won't she?

 

I shouldn't think about that now it will only mix me up.

 

I stand up knowing exactly where I am and exactly where to go and walk. Not happy. Not sad. I just walk with the feeling of relief but also guilt for my destiny chosen.

 

Chosen for the one I love…

I climb out the well into the shrine still hearing the pounding sounds of rain of the roof. The enclosed shelter lets in minor drops of rain from the cracks in the shrine as it moans when the wind blows.

 

My ears perk up as I hear some ones whimpering tears outside in the pouring rain. I slide the door open as I stare from the location the depressing sound is coming from.

 

It's Kagome…

 

Tear stained face as she kneels beside the Gonshinku. Her white shirt was practically see through from the rain and her skirt covered in dirt and grime. She looked sad defenseless and most of all…

 

Alone.

 

“Kagome…” I whispered not wanting to get the teenage girls attention.

 

I did this to her…

 

And I didn't even die yet.

 

What will happen after I really die.

 

She looks terrible full of pain. Pain that was caused by me.

 

I crept up to her silently not wanting to not hug her, touch her kiss her one last time but giving into my temptations.

 

“Kagome… I'm not dead. I'm sorry…”

 

She continues to cry like she couldn't hear me. I reached out touching my mate on the shoulder trying to get her attention.

 

My hand - -!

 

It goes right through her shoulder and back to my side. She can't hear me touch me or feel me!?

 

“Inuyasha! I love you don't go! Please come back to me!” She moaned tear flowing ever rapidly down her pale cheeks.

 

I stare at the lettering on the tree covered in moss. It glowed with a strange eerie blue, which caused shivers to run down my spine. I read the poem again feeling tears form into my eyes.

 

“Kagome I will come back… I understand now.” I said to the heavens knowing why the gods are punishing me.

 

“I can't leave you I am part of you. That part that would kill you if it was gone, not from sickness but from pain and suffering. I must stay with you. I must Love you and never stop loving. I can't hate, I can't forward anger to your soul. I must stay calm and control myself even if my inside are telling me to do elsewise.” I feel my presence start to come back into the human world.

 

“I love…”

 

I touch Kagome's shoulder as I feel her warm skin against mine.

 

“Inuyasha… you're alive…” She uttered before I slide and she collapses into me.

 

“I'm going to stay, forever by your side.” I explain stroking her sweetly.

 

“But the message?”

 

“Not once in that poem did I say I was going to leave only that I could been gone which with our love for each other will not be possible.” I said sullenly.

 

“Yes…” She mumbled followed a powerful kiss formed but the two of us.

 

“That's our poem forever Kagome… forever…”

Don't worry I'll finish that fluff off next chapter! I'll kind of extend it if you though the fluff was too short! I did for what he was going to do they deserve a more romantic moment than that don't they?

 

Otherwise I'm okay with this chapter. I would want it longer but I can only get so much!
