Sesshoumaru paced the floor in an angry vehemence. He was about to leave to check out the `findings' at Inuyasha's apartment when the phone rang. Not only was it the gate keeper, letting him know that Inuyasha had arrived, but just a minute after he passed through the platinum gates, Inuyasha's `wife', as she so deemed herself, arrived as well.

He hadn't planned on all of these interruptions today.

Stopping with a swirl of his trench coat he pressed a button on his phone and let it ring twice until a deep male voice answered with a curt `Yes Boss?'

`Inuyasha, the Chosen One, and Inuyasha's whore will all be here within 5 minutes. Make sure the Chosen One does not even lay eyes on that bitch, Kikyo.'

`Yes Boss. Whatever you say.'

`Oh, and another thing, I trust you on this, as my right hand man and best spy, I expect nothing less then perfection. Do I make myself clear?'

`Crystal, Sir.'

A deafening click was all that was heard from the other end.

Kagome and Inuyasha pulled up to the mammoth mansion and came to a halt on the pebble drive way, sending small-sized stones scattering everywhere.

Inuyasha pulled up the hand break and started mumbling as he got out.

Kagome was so nervous on the way there, that she forgot about her promise to Inuyasha about not listening into his thoughts and listening anyways, so she was quite up-to-date on what happened in her and Shippo's absence.

Inuyasha yanked open the door to the passenger side and held out his hand to let Kagome get out of the car. She pretended like she didn't see it, and pulled herself out.

Inuyasha sighed and pulled the seat forward to let Shippo hop out and stand beside Kagome.

Kagome and Shippo stared up at the marvellous mansion.

`Whoa! Its bigger then the all the places and stuff in `Sengoku Cannon'' Said Shippo as his eyes got larger by the second.*

Kagome looked down a bit shocked `isn't this your uncle's place? How are you shocked by the size? I mean, haven't you been here before?'

Shippo snapped his head to Inuyasha. `No. SOME people have issues.'

Inuyasha only grunted a response and rolled his eyes. Walking forward, he led the two onlookers towards the entrance to the mansion.

Not even bothering to knock or ring the doorbell, he pushed open the 2 large oak doors.

`YO! FUCKER!? WHERE ARE YOU?' Inuyasha hollered out as he stood in the middle of the grand entrance.

Kagome walked up beside him and held on to Shippo's hand.

While Kagome and Inuyasha were looking around the hall way, Shippo was straining himself to peer into the other rooms and dark crevices. Noticing something move he jumped and ran to hide behind Inuyasha.

Inuyasha had sensed it, long before Shippo saw it, and was already in a battle stance. Claws ready and fangs bared.

`Come the fuck out. Did my ass of a brother send you?'

`Yes'

Kagome shook her head and walked toward the figure. `Don't bother with him. My name is Kagome, I…'

`You are the Chosen One.' The voice then materialized into a person, as the shadow came forward into the light.

Inuyasha stayed where he was, along with Shippo. Staring at the man in front of Kagome. == How did he know who she was? I thought only Sesshoumaru's close clan and assassins knew her identity.==

`Well, since you seem to know who I am, may I ask who you are?' her left eyebrow raised in question to the man before her.

He was quite a sight to see. He was tall, taller then even Inuyasha. But skinnier then even Kagome. He had black hair, with a dark streak of maroon along the middle where a fauxhawk formed, and along the sides. He was dressed very sharply. He had brown `Gino' boots. Black dress slacks, and grey button up, mandarin collared shirt.

Kagome looked at him, and his smile that curved on his lips, making her feel not as tense as her counterparts where feeling at the moment, behind her.

`You may. I am Paalin**' the slender young man bowed low in front of the three confused persons in front of him. `I was sent by your brother, Inuyasha, to escort The Chosen One to her room, to rest. And be brought up-to-date on the latest happenings. Young master Shippo, will be shown to the miss Rin's room to play and basically be `out of our way.''

Kagome's heart clenched when he said the last part. He was throwing Shippo away. Although she knew he had to be out of any adult's way, at the moment. He didn't have to phrase it like that. == Paalin? Ok. But who IS he compared to Sesshoumaru'==

As if reading her mind Inuyasha piped up `Yeah, ok there fancy boy. But why did Sesshoumaru send you. Usually he sends Jaken to `escort' my ass to him. Where is the toad?'

Paalin stood tall , and looked at them through his thick lashes. `Sesshoumaru wanted the Lady Kagome taken care of. And as we both know, Jaken has certain reserves about HER kind.'

Inuyasha couldn't refute that. Jaken had enough of a problem with him being a Hanyou, Her being the one and human might send him over the top. Although it would be funny seeing Jaken flipping out about it.

Sighing he nodded. `Ok. Escort her. I just better know where she is at all times. Where is she gonna be?'

Paalin looked at him with a very happy-go-lucky smile. `I will take her to the master guest quarters.'

Inuyasha gave Paalin a glare that could kill and nodded. `She'd better be there till I come and get her.'

Kagome was about to argue that she was grown and could go where ever the hell she liked. He wasn't her keeper, before she remembered, technically he was, and he has also bolted off to see his brother by the time she turned around. ==Damn him and his demon speed.==

Paalin smiled and cocked his head then lifted is hand to his hip. `Well, shall we be going, ladies?'

Shippo clung to Kagome as soon as Inuyasha left, but being called a `lady' got him riled, so that he stepped away from Kagome. `I am not a lady. I am almost this many old!' Shippo held up a hand, showing him 5 fingers.

Paalin laughed, and shrugged then turned around with a sweeping motion. `Follow me.'

Kagome shrugged and looked at Shippo who looked mad. `Lets go runt.'

Shippo had been deposited with Rin, and Kagome was on her way to the master guest quarters. They were bullet proof, but definitely not `secure' if u wanted privacy.

Sesshoumaru hooked up cameras in all his house, minus his own suites. But he made sure this room has top of the line equipment, such as infra-ray sensors, digital automatic feed, loop sensing capabilities and more.

And he specifically wanted Kagome in that room, since he could make sure she was safe.

His bar turned into a giant screen of video monitors at the touch of a button. Something he had installed instead of a room for the guards, after watching one too many James Bond movies.

While watching the screen, he followed the movements of Paalin and Kagome as they entered the master guest quarters, wander around the room being bored, and finally settling in to play cards.

He also, simultaneously, watched as Kikyo entered the mansion, by force, and started toward Sesshoumaru's office in a blind run, meeting up with Inuyasha and then spectated as the two start yelling.

Sesshoumaru sighed and got up from his seat. ==this is one fucked up day==

Flicking a switch on the wall, the screen of monitors became a wet bar again. Not before, though he saw Inuyasha and Kikyo run into the living room together, all the while fighting, but paused until after a maid passed them by.

Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow == Idiots. At least this means their fighting will preoccupy her for a while so she won't seek me out to complain.==

Shaking his head, he left and headed toward where Kagome was. ==She may be the Chosen One to save us all, but she is still one hot piece of ass. And I want to do dirty things to her!== smiling he turned a corner.

== I may not have her now. She will be my slave in time. I must give it time.==
